Wow! What a hidden gem of a restaurant. I am sooooo glad my family and I had a chance to visit this restaurant after reading so many positive Yelp reviews. Upon entering the small but cozy restaurant, we were immediately welcomed by the owner, Mo, and his business partner (I am so sorry, but I don't get her name ). They were both extremely friendly and welcoming, and it truly felt as though they were happy to have us visiting the restaurant. Top-notch service from start to finish, THANK YOU! We ordered the BBQ mix, Chicken Katsu, Fish & chips, butter mochi, and pumpkin crunch. I can honestly say that we were FLOORED!! The food was DELICIOUS!! Each item was cooked to perfection! Perfectly seasoned, portions were huge, and did I mention that everything was delicious?? My fish and chips w/no salt or sauce were huge, sooooo tasty, fresh, and left me FULL!! The BBQ was second to none as it was DELICIOUS!! The chicken Katsu was crunchy and full of flavor. I am a huge fan of anything dessert. The pumpkin crunch with whipped cream was truly one of the best and most creative desserts I have ever tried. This dessert would win first place if it were displayed and shared at the Pomona Fair in the food category. Wow!! It is 640 am now, and I am craving it all over again. This family-owned restaurant opened in September 2025. I will be returning this week to try something else on the menu. I hope that many more people have the opportunity to stop by for a GREAT meal and to support this up-and-coming local restaurant.

A friendly and local establishment that deserves praise! If you're looking for homemade, fresh, and delicious Hawaiian food then Holy Mo's is it! The restaurant itself is small, but can seat a few people for dining. They have a small menu of delicious Hawaiian food, and everything is made fresh to order. I order the hamburger steak that comes with a Mac salad, and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely give them a try if you're in the area.

Went in on a random day and the chef asked if I was a risk taker. Ofcourse I said yes and got a custom special creation from the Holy Mo's team and man... it was it the right decision. Fire Loco Moco Fries. Will be coming back for these and the great team

The owner, Mo, is so kind and friendly. Everytime we go he makes us feel like family. The food is the best hawaiian food I ever had in California. Trust me, Im from Hawaii. The deep fried butter mochi goes crazy.

Came 20 minutes before they closed and Mo welcomed me in! I ordered the chicken katsu plate, 2 spam musubis, and the butter mochi. I have to say this was the best chicken katsu I've ever had! I'm always weary of getting katsu because it's usually all breading, dry with no flavor. The chicken katsu was perfection!!! Crispy and the chicken was SO juicy. The sauce paired with it so well, and they don't skimp on the meat at all. The macaroni salad was delicious too. The spam musubis were hot and not too salty! The ratio of spam to rice was perfect. I didn't know what butter mochi was until then, Mo had me try a piece and I was hooked! Perfectly soft and chewy and a great treat to end the meal. I skipped on a drink because I had a coffee already, but they had so many options! The inside was spotless. I'm so excited to come back and try the rest when I'm back in the area.

Mixed bbq plate it has bbq beef riblets, crispy pork belly, bbq beef, 2 scoops rice, macaroni salad. Got a side order of spam masubi.

Mixed bbq plate(bbq beef riblets, crispy pork belly, bbq beef, 2 scoops rice, macaroni salad, spam masubi) and it was so good!! I like that I can add my own sauce to my plate and the deep fried mochi was heaven. Thank you, we'll be back.

Damn try this place, for me at least the chicken katsu was bomb bizzzzzie! Juicy, tender, and huge! Spam was delicious, and most of all the lady was so nice and friendly. Will come back to try the desserts . Wish the best for success! The best Katsu I tried the thickest, juiciest and delicious not too breaded or too crunchy like other place. Forgot to mention the butter mochi and the macaroni was also delicious. Usually I hate macaroni, but this place gets it right without too much mayo. Try this place and let us know how you like it!

Located across from the theater. There's plenty of parking. Small restaurant where I think the food is more for take seats. However there is seating outside and minimal seating inside (counter with stools). I ordered the butter mochi and the BBQ mix plate. The mochi was delicious. Buttery, as expected. As for the bbq mix plate, very disappointed. My meat was not cooked all the way. The parts that I did eat were salty. The macaroons salad was good though. I really want to like this place but raw meat is not appetizing.

Not only was the food made with a home style feeling, but the service was amazing! This place quickly became one of my favorite spots in the area, please check it out!

Shaved ice w/ 3 flavor Services

It's a new location in the semi-connected plazas by the Edward's movie theater. Located next to Bun Street and other local eateries. There's bar seating (fits 3) facing the parking lot and one cafe style 2 seater outside. Everything was decorated tastefully. They played complementary music at a safe volume. Service: Everyone from the owner, to the cashier, and kitchen staff were welcoming! No attitude or annoyed glances when I took too long looking at the menu. They are now offering a new breakfast menu (ube pancakes or a breakfast plate of bacon, eggs, Portuguese sausages, etc)! Food: We already ate breakfast so I ordered dessert. Shaved ice for the youngster and butter mochi for myself. The youngster rated the shaved ice 5/5. They usually take about 1-1.5 hours to eat anything but they polished it off in about half an hour! Even drank the watered down syrup in the end. I wasn't feeling well so I didn't sample it. The butter mochi is a Hawaiian staple. I normally bake it so deep fried version was a treat. If I had to guess they cubed a 4x6 block. Since it was cubed all surfaces had a chance to develop into this wonderfully crisp sweet cube. Would order again. Plan on coming back for lunch

Was super excited to try this place and ordered a little bit of everything but was sadly disappointed. The bbq mix plate look nothing like the pictures on the menu. The ribs were very chewy and lacked flavor and also to mention was a sad grey color, which did not seem appetizing. The chicken was okay oddly enough had a strong lemon taste which tasted overly seasoned and to say on theme the Mac salad was okay and could have used some seasoning but wasn't as terrible as the meat. I ordered a spam masubi and it was absolutely horrible. The rice in the masubi was so mushy and just a strange texture where it seemed not fresh at all. Wish things could have been better.

The hospitality was very nice. Amazing chicken Katsu with the sauce on the side. we truly appreciated the Hawaiian Sun drinks that they had.

It's enough to feed two people, and I can easily see it being an easy favorite for customers on a strict budget. Unfortunately, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) also serves mushy and gloopy rice. When I returned home, I dumped its old-tasting rice with black marking and lines into the trashcan. It's baffling how a business can mess up rice, but I attribute its poor rice quality and preparation as an attempt to save an extra buck. I arrived at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) on Tuesday (around 7:30PM). The location had a big fan, but its interior still felt humid and stuffy. L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) reminded me of a casually cleaned warehouse as its cardboard boxes laid about. Staff is terse and prompt. Staff also speaks English and Spanish. Staff appeared burnt out and fatigued. I ordered the Chicken Katsu ($11.99). It includes chicken katsu, macaroni salad, and rice. The food arrived in seven minutes. Very fast! As mentioned, the food is very large. Its portions are gigantic! The chicken katsu came thick and crisp. I enjoyed the chicken katsu's crisp outside and soft chicken. Its crust faintly tasted buttery. I also loved the macaroni salad. This macaroni salad felt clean and peppery. Tasty! Unfortunately, as mentioned, the rice tasted old and mushy. It also had many black markings among its grains. Eventually, I tossed the rice into the trash can. Concerning ambiance, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an ugly location. Its outside looks worn down and poorly maintained. Although its interior has clean tables, the interior felt musty and humid. No music plays; rather, one lone flat screen television played aloud. Also, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) felt gloomy with its walls' fading colors and its lingering bits of dust. Overall, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is not awful. It serves big portions at affordable prices. The ambiance & service is barebones, but some of its food is prepared well. If on a strict budget, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an option. 3.4 out of 5

TK Cafe has thoroughly impressed me off first impression, and if I was closer, I'd probably be a regular here. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

All the familiar Hawaiian items are here, and then some. They offer A LOT of different dishes, including a whole bunch of dim sum. And their beverage menu is extensive as well, from your basic teas to milk tea boba and slushies. It's pretty impressive how these folks are able to squeeze all this food in this tiny little restaurant. Decided to go with the dish that everyone who has been to Hawaii has eaten at some point: the loco moco. I thought it might be a good way to gauge how authentic their food is. Ordered a side of Portuguese sausage musubi as well. Yeah, I'm a pig. Loco Moco - 5/10: so yeah. This definitely isn't your traditional loco moco, or at least the dish that I grew up eating (808 born and raised). Two patties, mounds of rice, eggs (unfortunately served over hard...should always be over easy so the yolk comes out) side mac salad - check, check, check and check. But then they bury on the bottom of this dish a bunch of stir-fried veggies, which threw me off a bit. This dish ain't supposed to be somewhat healthy. And then they throw a very light brown sauce on it that definitely isn't gravy. More like a brown sauce you'd mix in with pan-fried noodles. Yeah, just not the way this dish is supposed to made. But at least they give you a lot of it! - Portuguese Spam Musubi - 7.5/10: this one was much better. All the elements were there, and yes, they used Portuguese sausages. Hard to screw up musubi, but believe me, it can be done. Two pieces come in an order and they're on the larger side. So yeah, a little disappointed. I will say though that if I'm in the area again, I might order some dim sum. Happy feasting!

We were excited about what we were going to eat on Thursday, March 27 '26 and we had gotten there around 5:30. They close at 7 sp we had an hour and a half to eat. We ordered about 6 dishes --Pork Sinigang, Adobong Pusit, Bihon Guisado, Garlic Rice, Plain Rice, Crispy Pata , Ube Turon. When the orders came, the rice was so little, what they said was good for 2 people is actually only good for one. We asked for ice. They said they had none. not a big deal but honestly ice is a very important thing to have. There were no condiments on the table (patis , toyo, suka) etc which is common place in Filipino eateries. Around 6:30 we were being asked to finish our meal because they were "closing". Did they forget we ordered a bunch of stuff. If they are worried about their closing time, rhen please dont accept people an hour and a half before closing as you guys kmow Filipino food is not burgers and fries . You eat w little bit of everything slowly , its a cultural thing. We were again told two more times to hurry eating as they were closing. I was so shocked i coulf barely believe this kind of treatment. As a former caterer and hotel manager, we have never kicked anyone out of any establishment when they are still eating. You shut the door, you stop taking in customers but you always let the people still eating inside finish their meal, even if you had to stay behind for a bit. Another reason i took my best friend to dine rhere is because we were both so hungry and we dont do any cooking in our homes. My best friend paid for the meal --almost $150 , we decided against leaving a tip because the service was poor. The people working in the front had a less than acceptable demeanor, rushing us out of there we couldnt even finish eating. The server tried to say they just cooked it, like who are you even trying to convince that this cold fish is freshly made?!
