I am simply not impressed. From our arrival until our food arrived the experience was less than favorable. First there was a table outside and we were told we couldn't sit there. After a few minutes she finally allowed us to sit there. Second we were not given any menus and I had to go in and get my own menus. Third the waitress walked all around us taking care of three other tables and didn't even acknowledge our presence. When she did finally come to take our order my white wine was warm. When our pizza arrived and we asked for ice water we were told "I don't do the drinks I just deliver food." The waitress brought us water and didn't say a word or ask if we needed anything else. We were treated as if we were not welcome. We certainly will not be back. read more

I dont understand how a place with such excellent food can be so terrible at customer service. We were rude to the waitress Erika (admittedly not necessary) because we ordered drinks and didnt see anyone for 10 minutes. Jeremy took care of us from there and was great service until the end when we tried to apologize for being rude to Erika and all he did was argue instead of accept the apology. Then, he slammed our checks down and walked by without a word. How do you run a business like that and treat customers with 0 respect, regardless of the issue. I asked for the manager just to explain and all he said was his name was Eric Kimball and it didnt matter that I wrote his name down because his dad was the owner....again, a sign of terrible management and customer service. At the end of the day, customers make the business successful, and anytime you lose customers you should be upset, not say that it doesnt matter because your dad is the owner. My suggestion is to take your $50 to a restaurant that WANTS your business. read more

We had a mixed experience. The wait staff us pretty poor although the food was mostly good. Gouda flatbread with marinara sauce was delicious although the server told us it was "gow-da" cheese and when I asked was the sauce was she said salsa. Really? The buffalo wrap and Mediterranean wrap were both really good and they have the thin matchstick fries I love. Skip the guac, it was nasty. Fully creamy and weird flavor. I suspect it came out of a bag. Nary an avocado chunk in the whole dip. read more

Overall pretty standard fare with nothing to set it apart from some of the other regional competitors. Well, it is in the Beach Market Center, which gives it prime position between the super busy Coligny Plaza and the entrance to Coligny Beach. So I guess that is one major plus. The food and the ambiance are both good, but not great or special in any way. There is a decent selection of pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and wraps, but the beer selection is severely lacking (there is a bit wider wine selection). The space itself is pretty nice as it is spacious, features a couple of nice outdoor decks, and has high back booths inside. The service is also friendly, courteous, and prompt, but there simply is not anything that wows you. Plus the server's uniform resembles the khakis worn by employees of Outback and such, which is a little odd! Bottom Line: You could do better while dining out on Hilton Head, but you could also do worse. Probably not a bad option for a quick bite before hitting the very nearby Coligny beach. read more

Our large group enjoyed eating here for lunch during our stay at Hilton head. The coconut shrimp were great as was the big easy pizza and the cheeseburger sliders. We were seated right away and our server was attentive. We also enjoyed the calamari and the crab dip as appetizers (which came out very quickly!). I would recommend this place for groups with some non-seafood lovers as there is a good amount of variety and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. read more

The service was absolutely horrible. I don't think it was the waiters fault but the kitchen obviously is not organized. The place was fairly empty and it took us 40 minutes to get a simple appetizer served and another 20 minutes for our entree. We come to Hilton Head annually and decided this time to try a new place. Our family went here as a suggestion from the hotel. SOOOOO glad we went. We all tried 3 different flatbread pizzas and all were AMAZING. The service was friendly and helpful in determining the right flatbreads for us to try. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a all around good causual dinning spot! read more

In Hilton Head for the week staying at Coligny Beach. Flatbread Grill is a short walk from the beach. Great atmosphere,casual. Had lunch one day and dinner another. Service was great, attentive. I had the crab cakes which were some of the best I ever had. Served with a tasty corn relish and a touch of spice from the aoli. Another day had the chicken wrap which was a nice size portion with very fresh ingredients. French fries were hot off the stove. Will go back to Flatbread Grill. read more

Really great meal and service as well. Came in with a group of 23 - food was quick and delicious. Had the seafood Alfredo and it was phenomenal. Very "delicate" sauce with all the great Alfredo taste without the heaviness you usually get. Will definitely be back if in the area - too many other delicious looking choices. read more

The happy hour was very limited. The drink special was an orange flavored concoction that tasted like baby aspirin. I was charged regular price even though it said it was included. 4 chefs hanging around and we waited 20+ mins for a meatball appetizer. It was clearly microwaved from the freezer and tasted lame. Went in on slow day, plenty of seating. We stood at the entrance for a few minutes before ever being greeted. I had to peer around to see if anyone was coming in. Eventually a female came to greet us. She was very friendly, but had her order booklet shoved down the back of her pants, not really where I would want the hands that touch my drinks and food, going back and forth from. We requested to sit outside, where no one else was sitting. This caused us to be forgotten. We had looked through the menu and decided what to eat before the waitress came to get our drink orders. Waited lengthy times with empty glasses waiting on refills. The food was very tasty though. May have been just a B squad working, but would still suggest a try of the food. read more

Absolutely Terrible. Absolutely Terrible. Absolutely Terrible. Looking for some easy takeout and just hoping for some average or better eats. We ordered seafood alfredo, steak fajitas and 2 chicken tender kids meals. Total price was $64. Not exactly cheap, but I don't mind spending money for good food. Good food it was not. Unfortunately we brought it back to our condo before eating it, otherwise I would have tossed this back at the kitchen. "Seafood" alfredo had 3 shrimp and a few random flakes of some awful and dry fish (maybe tilapia?). It seemed like the fish flakes were leftovers or something thrown in to try and call it "seafood". It was COVERED in dry oregano flakes. My wife could not eat it and opted to cook ramen noodles instead. Seriously, paid $20 for that and threw it in the trash to eat ramen instead - wrap your brain around that. My steak fajitas - well they gave me 4 tortillas which was great - except there was only enough steak and peppers to fill 2, barely. It was just steak and peppers swimming in a quart of sickly sweet grease, no onions or rice or anything else. The steak was grizzly and tough - I had to slice it up into tiny pieces so I could chew it up (I was not going to resort to ramen noodles with my wife!) Kids chicken tenders were terrible and my wife cooked them grilled cheese for them to eat instead. Their french fries were cooked some time in the Napoleonic era and were oddly tough - the kids wouldn't touch them. In short, we threw away every bit of the food except the tiny bit of fajita scraps. I hope the flatbread grill owners use my donation (I call it a donation since I received nothing in return) as a start to retire, close their doors, and spare everyone else the utter sense of disappointment we have. Seriously though, I implore you - do not go there. If you are the owner or manager of this establishment - please look in the mirror and ask yourself if this is the kind of place you want to have. Do you have a moral compass? Do you feel that it is acceptable to continue this way? read more

This place has a lot of potential given it's location and the menu. Unfortunately, our most recent visit in early April 2015 was not so great. They were not crowded yet the service was not the best - hostess not friendly, the bartender was into himself and the person who delivered the food just slammed it on the table. We were seated at the very front and I asked if we could sit further in (since the door was right there and it was a bit chilly). The hostess indicated there was no room... there were may be only 3-4 other patrons there that night. She didn't even bother to say bye when we left. The food was just ok. Our individual server was good and he looked like he was being overworked. This was not our first time here so I was disappointed and given the number of great restaurants on HHI I may not go back unless I hear things have changed. read more

Over the past several years on my trip to Hilton I have enjoyed going to the flatbread grill both for meals and for the evening outdoor bar with entertainment. Darryl E Van Horn is very entertaining when he is there. I've never had a complaint about the food. The flatbread pizzas have always been good. I haven't strayed too far from those selections. The bar prices are expensive, as they are at any place in Hilton Head. I've gotten used to paying $4-5-6-8 or more for a beer. The bar service is ok. The restaurant servers are fine. I wish I could rave about the service. But it's just ok. Still, our group enjoyed the camaraderie at the outdoor bar and the musical entertainment. We made a habit of going to the outdoor bar in the evening. Our group would spend easily at least $200 at the outdoor bar in the evening. This year however we were very put off to see signs on the tables indicating a $2 per person entertainment fee to sit at a table at the outdoor bar. Regardless of how much money we were about spend at the bar, regardless of how much money we just spent in the restaurant, we were told we'd still be charged $2 per person to sit at a table. That turned off so many of us that we left and went elsewhere for our evening. It's a shame because we always spent a boat load of money at the flat bread and we tipped very well. We are now spending and tipping elsewhere. read more

If you are looking for a restaurant with the rudest, most unprofessional employees, then look no further! My friends and I had spent the week in Hilton Head. We had lunch and drinks a few times during the week at Flatbread Grill. The food was okay and the beer was standard. Service was slow but we were on beach time. Our last night of vacation we decided to go to Flatbread Grill for dinner because a local musician we wanted to see was playing in the plaza outside of Flatbread Grill and there was patio seating. I ordered a lemon drop martini. When it arrived I tasted it. It was awful. I told the waitress it was not good and didn't even taste like a lemon drop martini. She said she could sell me an extra shot! I didn't want an extra shot; I wanted a decent drink. I walked inside to the bar with my drink. I asked the young man behind the counter if he was the bartender. He said he was. I told him I was sorry but my drink wasn't very good. The waitress had already told him I didn't like the drink and he had attitude and was very rude. I told him my drink was warm, not even chilled and it tasted like sour mix and vodka. He said it was and that was an award winning drink. I asked to please not take it personal but that was not how you make a lemon drop. It wasn't chilled, it had NO lemon in it, no sugar on the rim and a real lemon drop had no sour mix in it. He got very angry. Again, I asked to please not take it personal but it wasn't good. He said "I do take it f_____ing personal and that Liz could make my damn drink." I asked for the manager. The manager was Liz. Before I could say a word, the bartender threw his towel on the bar and told Liz "I don't have to take this s__, I'm f___ing out of here" and he walked out. The manager asked me what was wrong. I told her. She asked me how a lemon drop was supposed to be made. I told her. She told me she makes it like the bartender made it. I told her I did not like the way the bartender acted and spoke to me. She said it was unprofessional but did not apologize nor did she offer to remake my drink. I told her I guessed we would be leaving then and she didn't say a word, just turned around and walked off! We did leave. We walked across the plaza to another restaurant called Anglers. It also had outside seating. We had never been there but it was excellent and the bartender made an excellent lemon drop martini. Our last night was salvaged and we were able to enjoy the music, food and drinks. read more
