I chose Flat Creek Inn primarily because of its location, which was excellent and very convenient for exploring the Jackson area. Unfortunately, the stay itself was disappointing, especially considering the price. The room felt dated and in need of maintenance. The bedding was old and worn, and the shower floor felt soft and unstable, almost like you could fall through it. Several bathroom tiles were coming loose as well. The curtains didn't close all the way, making it difficult to block out light and maintain privacy. Noise and building movement were also issues. Every time someone walked past our room, the entire room seemed to shake, which made it hard to relax. The room did include a mini-fridge, which was appreciated. The inn also offers complimentary snacks and hot beverages at the mart. While the gesture was nice, the snacks consisted of prepackaged rolls that were not very good. The tea selection was surprisingly excellent, but the coffee was disappointing. Another downside was the pricing at the mart, where everything seemed extremely overpriced. We also attempted to fill up with gas before leaving, but the pumps were not working. Overall, the location is the best thing this property has going for it. Given the condition of the room and the price charged, I would not stay here again and would look for other options in the area. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights. Their office closes at 5:30 pm however they have lock boxes with your key and other info near their office if you check in after 5:30 pm which was helpful since we were driving from SLC and arrived around 7:30 pm. They also left a voicemail with instructions on how to obtain the key/check in after hours. Room was adequate and had a microwave and mini fridge. Bathroom was a bit small and sink was located outside the bathroom. They have daily housekeeping which was a plus because nowadays a lot of hotels have not restated housekeeping. Parking was convenient; we were on the 1st floor and parked right in front of our room. There is also a gas station on site which is also convenient. About a 4 min drive into town so not bad. read more

Located at the Gateway of Tetons and across from the National Elk Refuge, the historic Flat Creek Inn was the perfect stay. The room was clean, comfy and dog friendly allowed us to adventure with our pups. The staff was super friendly and responsive while the mini mart and gas station allowed us to get coffee, snacks and gas without having to drive back into Jackson Hole. The room was adequate and cozy, but over priced for a last minute stay. Yelp claimed there would be a 20% discount included with a check-in. I asked to redeem when I arrived at the hotel and they said they would not honor. The hotel never gives any type of discount. I was told to take it up with whomever I reserved the room with and ask for a discount from them. However, the hotel took my payment. The hotel also had a van parked out front that said airport shuttle. I inquired about the shuttle and was told said they no longer use a shuttle. They have not offered the service in two years. Yet, the van is sitting right out in front of the office. I asked for an alternative and they shared a taxi service. Thankfully, I found out on my own that Uber would pick me up for a third of the cost from what the clerk recommended. read more

This is not a 5 star lodging establishment, however it earns 5 stars from me for the following reasons: 1) location across from the Elk Refuge and closest lodging to the Teton area, 2) always clean, 3) affordable, 4) gas station and store on site, 5) free coffee at the gas station for Flat Creek Inn guest, 6) Kyle Egget, lodge manager is great to me as a returning guest, 7) motel parking just outside my door makes it a breeze to get my photo gear in and out of the truck each day, 8) coyotes howling in the mountains behind the Inn at night, 9) no stop lights between me and the Gros Ventre River, the airport or the park entrance. read more

It's only a few miles north of Jackson. Great if you want to stay just outside the busy streets in town. There is a gas station on grounds along with a small store for very basic items you may need. The store was very low on supplies when we stayed in January. But that is the offseason and they don't restock supplies as often. Our visit was to see the National Elk Refuge and this hotel is literally right across the highway from the refuge. So you can look out your window and see all the elk that have migrated there for the winter. What an awesome sight! Our room had two queen beds, TV with built in VHS and DVD player, kitchen with some supplies, full refrigerator, full stove, dishwasher, dining room table with 4 chairs, vanity just outside the bathroom with sink and mirror, and the bathroom has tub in it with shower and toilet. It also had a pullout bed available for use. The room was loaded with everything a family could need! And the great part was that it is very affordable when you compare it too other hotels in Jackson. I couldn't go higher than 3 stars, however. I've stayed here 4 times so far and it is a roll of the dice when it comes to room cleanliness. The room with the kitchen was awesome, but the 2 queen bed rooms vary from nice and clean to downright dirty and repulsive. This hotel is just a few steps away from being a pleasant, reprieve from the hectic nature of Jackson Hole. Just find the resources to keep your carpets and amenities clean and you'll be up to 4 stars. Also, WIFI didn't work during my last visit. read more

We bookended our August trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone by staying at this hotel. The rooms were soooo clean. Shockingly so for a hotel, to be honest. I am the type to notice dust in corners missed by regular vacuuming and both rooms we stayed in were spotless. Beds are comfortable. King rooms are spacious enough for 2 people to have room even with 2 suitcases and hiking packs. It was fun to grab a cocoa at the end of the day in the little convenience store part. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out from the main road. The staff were friendly and accommodated us leaving luggage while we went to eat breakfast and return our rented vehicle in town. Jeffrey arranged for a driver to take us to the airport in their shuttle. Definitely would stay here again! read more

We stayed here for 2 nights. Check in was a breeze, and every employee that we encountered was super nice. The room was spacious, had everything we needed. Only comment I would make is that toilet area is really dark, even during the day because it is tucked back in a corner, maybe some low lighting to just kind of put a glow in that area. It was handy to have the gas station/mini mart right there. Convenient to Jackson/Tetons/Yellowstone. Property well maintained, inside and out. Great location for Jackson Hole/Grand Teton area stuff. Room was clean and comfortable and in good repair. Some road noise but almost any hotel suffers from that. No noise from other rooms though which is what matters to me. Beautiful view of the Elk Refuge; if there had been elk in the refuge it would have been magical. It's expensive for what it is but, speaking as a Minnesotan, everything in Jackson is ridiculously expensive these days. It's the cheapest hotel I found in the area though. It is very rustic with a beautiful view of the Elk Refuge on the opposite side of the road. View of some nice mountains and fog in the morning that covers the lower part of the mountains opposite. They have a nice jogging, biking track that goes for miles on the road where this hotel is. We had some questions about housekeeping (whether it was daily). Called the front office and got the voicemail. Did not leave a voicemail but hotel folks tracked us down and reassured us about how it worked (if you want, daily - if you don't, hang up the dont disturb sign!). It is a short distance drive from Albertsons and a bit more from Smiths supremarket if you want to stock up the fridge with some essentials. If you just want to eat out, a mile from downtown Jackson where you have tons of options. No free breakfast but the store has some options and you can get some in town or the grocery supermarkets. I have stayed here 3 times and all 3 times have been great. The staff is nice and welcoming, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. Close to town, but far enough away that in the morning we just jumped in the car and we were on the main road to the Tetons or Yellowstone. Having a gas station and mart in the same place is wonderful. Especially if you always forget to pack at least one thing....like myself. The customer service at Flat Creek Inn is the best I've ever had at a hotel/motel bar none. And I've stayed in some of the worlds finest. Not only are they very accommodating they are kind. Unheard of today. Flat creek inn is also clean, comfy and well decorated with everything needed for a stay away from home. The king room with a kitchen is perfect for a family. The little market on site has been an added perk as we were unable to bring all we needed. Loved the area to walk our dog as well. I can't say enough good things. I was in a bind and needed to book a last minute weekend stay during peak tourist season. I had tried several places in town, most of them didn't answer their phone and the ones that did were anything but helpful. Flat Creek Inn didn't have what I needed listed online, but I called anyways, and Jeffrey took such great care of us! Our needs have changed a few times during our stay and even though they are full Jeffrey has still managed to bend over backwards and make it work. You can't find customer service like this anywhere! Every staff member we have spoken to has been so kind and wonderful. I am also staying with my mother who typically only stays in Marriott hotels or 5 star resorts, and she has been very happy and satisfied with the cleanliness and quality of the rooms, and of course with the staff! Very bad experience in this hotel, I booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children, I had a king room but without an extra bed for the children, the fault of Booking.com or the hotel.... ..It's the first time that customer service has been that bad. My reservation mentioned 2 adults and 2 children so the hotel should have checked. Obviously the hotel was full but in our misfortune, we were offered by the receptionist a room with 2 beds which had been condemned for several weeks apparently due to the smell of cigarettes. Indeed the smell was there but between that and having my kids to sleep on the floor for 2 nights ... When I asked the manager what he was going to do to compensate, he did not even look at me and only addressed to the receptionist talking about me! For him I had to contact booking, it was not his fault. When I came back and asked for a hairdryer he didn't even look up and told me there wasn't any, without looking for a solution. The receptionist went to get me his own hair dryer !!! I imagine that in the meantime he had rented our king room so he could have made a gesture of goodwill. I am still awaiting a refund. read more

This place is a great value for the price and the customer service at Flat Creek is awesome! I just stayed there over the weekend. I made a mistake with planning my trip and requested a refund or credit for a future stay for the last night of my booking. They immediately accommodated and refunded my money! I will be returning to Jackson later this summer and will 100% stay here again! I was in the beginning portion of a 36-day road trip, and when I got to Jackson things had already gotten kinda rough. I had forgotten my laptop charging cord and had cracked the screen to my phone before I left. I decided not to worry about getting the screen replaced since it still worked just fine and the screen was still perfectly viewable, but I didn't think about how that would make it so that the phone was no longer waterproof. Not realizing this, I took the phone into String Lake in the Tetons which was the beginning of that phone's end. When I arrived at Flat Creek Inn, I was pretty stressed since my phone was my navigator, camera, music, email etc etc etc. The staff did everything they could to help me out offering ideas of how to deal with the water damage to my phone, letting me use their wifi with the bit of battery that I still had left on my laptop so that I could map my route and write in down on paper. They also let me use their phone to call people that I was meeting up with including my step-Dad who's hotel room I was headed to that night in Brigham City, UT, and it was great to let him know that I was running several hours late and might be later if I got lost. To boot they also had the rice that I put into a ziplock bag with my phone to begin the water removal process which ended up being successful enough after another day or so to get that phone to last me until it's replacement arrived. I also used their tire air pump to blow into the holes and cracks of the phone which was better than my moist human breath. THANK YOU SO MUCH FLATT CREEK IN STAFF!!! read more

Clean, Inexpensive for Jackson, Great Location and Friendly Staff - We only planned 2.5 days in the Tetons on a Western Trip. Arriving near midnight in Jackson didn't want to shell out $900 / night for an outdated condo we opted for the Flat Creek Inn. Pleasantly surprised with the clean and comfortable room. After all how much time will you spend in the room other than to sleep after hiking and exploring Jackson. There is a convenience store adjacent to the motel with the friendliest lady. Free coffee for the Motel guests was a nice touch. Great location! Super close to town and a short drive to the park. Typical Jackson property but a decent value. When we drove to pick up the propane they gave us an excellent recommendation for a restaurant. For not even being customers staying at the inn they still gave us excellent service. We love this place! From the first phone call to ask about room's and rate's (Kyle) to my call back an hour later to ask about staying another night. We got kind of lost finding the place, called and the gal at the desk was so nice, gave directions, and when we finally got there she was so understanding! Loved the room, had everything we needed. Housekeeping gal(Debra) was great, and she gave us more info and pointers on things to see, than we got from any tour guides and magazines. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Flat Creek Inn. We were very pleased with our room and amenities. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was clean and pleasant. We absolutely loved the view of the elk refuge right from our door! Having a gas station right at the hotel was great! We found that very convenient as we were able to fill up our fuel and snacks on our way to Yellowstone. The staff was very nice and the gentleman at the gas station gave me great information about our visit to the park. I would highly recommend the Flat Creek Inn and will absolutely be staying there again on our next trip that way! read more

Great location and view from the motel. Easy access to Grand Teton National Park to the north or Jackson to the south (restaurants, etc.). Nice places to sit in the parking lot area and enjoy the views. Very friendly staff in the model and store. Nice to have fridge and microwave. Well stocked convenience store. General problems: door lock barely worked, VERY noisy first floor room heard stomping upstairs all evening and morning. Dated decor. One outlet was falling out of the wall. Shower lead leaking. Store ran out of coffee cups for free coffee. Entire motel has one washer/dryer pair, the washer was broken and the office staff didn't even know. Horse trailer parked in the parking lot overnight one night - heard loud banging sounds all night from horse stomping, and found horse poop in the parking lots right outside our room in the morning. Problems for families staying in one room: front door and bathroom door very noisy to open and close. read more
