Definitley one of our favorite hotels ever…read more First impression was very warm and inviting, the lobby is beautiful and the staff is ultra professional. Unfortuntely, we were not pleased with the room they gave us (right next to the noisy front desk, view of the parking lot), so I requested something better (it was our 30th anniversary, after all) and they obliged, which went a long way with us. And everything was a huge thumbs up from that point on! The room itself spoke strongly to our aesthetics - dark wood, cozy, cabin-like feel, but with all the amenities of an upscale apartment, including a comfortable bed with cushioned headboard, well-stocked kitchen, full-size refrigerator, pod coffee machine, WiFi, two large screen TVs. And we had a great view off the patio/deck. There was no run-down furniture or bad carpet or imperfections in the wood or curtains. Everything was pristine clean, including the outdoor chairs and table. And everything worked perfectly and intuitively - lights, plugs, fireplace, shower (with great water pressure!), stove, small kitchen appliances, and a refrigerator that was super cold when we arrived. It might seem like these are all obvious things. But we have stayed in so many hotels, some quite expensive, that had all sorts of little things that didn't work right, were dirty or worn, or were difficult to figure out. Those little annoyances added up to big disappointments. The fact that everything was functional, clean, and easy here was a fantastic relief. Side note on the room: our one complaint was the pillows. Standard "bulk buy" flat flat flat hotel pillows. This is such a ubiquitous thing (the one and only exception I've ever experienced in the US was the Lotte Towers in NYC) that I can't really let it affect my review, but I did find it a little disappointing that they don't spring for better pillows. Service was wonderful. They sent up sweets and drinks on two different nights, as anniversary gifts. The doorman happily brought up our load of luggage, with door to door service. Front desk was always helpful and friendly - the with directions and recommendations and they sent up slippers since we forgot to bring any kind of slip ons to go to the pool. In the lobby, coffee is available in the mornings, fruit and water in the afternoons, and dessert every night from 7:30 to 9:30. We spent one late afternoon at the indoor pool and jacuzzi at the spa, and then made our way up to the 4th floor hot tub with mountain views. So beautiful and relaxing. We also visited Spur, which we did not enjoy, but I reviewed them separately and do not feel that should carry over into the hotel review. No question we will come back here when we visit the Tetons again!

The best part of our stay is the breakfast specials which change daily. We were lucky enough to have breakfast sandwiches (homemade English muffins with a soft fried egg, avocados, and red onion) during our stay. We also had bread pudding French toast with blueberry compote and the crispiest thick cut bacon. The frittata with chicken sausage, tomatoes, taters, spinach, shallots, herbs and cheddar were also great. The fresh squeezed OJ is simply awesome. There are also warm homemade sweet treats in the afternoon. You can thank Ellie who is the amazing chef for all of the good eats. We look forward to our return trip here!!!

Staying at the Alpine House is similar to staying in a personal log cabin with all the amenities which include a fireplace and balcony in most rooms. The beds were comfortable and clean, the water was hot and the wifi was fast. In addition, the property has a small fitness facility available with a few free weights and ready cooked hot breakfast every morning. A small perk is that there is water, coffee, tea, cider, etc. 24/7 in the lobby. There is also a small workspace with a couch and fireplace for those needing a break from their roommates. The staff are very friendly, helpful and are ready to offer help when needed. Check in and check out are very quick and efficient. They are well trained and have a good knowledge of the area, offering suggestions to eateries and other local attractions. One of the best features to this property is their proximity to the town. Only three short blocks, one can be in the town square by foot in minutes. Staying in Jackson Hole during one of the coldest months (February) can prove challenging while navigating through the snow/ice covered roads and having a proper hot shower. However, The Alpine House shielded us from these issues with the short stroll to town and the consistent hot water flow from the showers. With great service, beautiful rooms, a short walk to town and a reasonable rate, The Alpine House is the best option while visiting Jackson Hole, WY!

It was really nice. We would stay there again. We stayed in the new building, which I think they call Broadway. Breakfast is not included. They charge $20/per person which I first through was high until I got used to the town. Jackson is very expensive. Other than getting a breakfast burrito to go from D.O.G. (which is awesome, by the way) you will find $20 to be on par, or cheaper, than any other breakfast you can get in town. Plus, this one is cooked to order and served in the relaxed atmosphere of the Inn. If you need breakfast included there is one other hotel in town in the same price range that offers a buffet, but having stayed at Huff House, Since breakfast may be a sticking point for some, it shouldn't be. Here's why; there are a lot of food options in town. We stayed at Huff House for 4 nights. Had breakfast there once. It was superb. No complaints, but it was also nice to try some of the other places right next door (Cafe Genevieve, Persophone, and D.O.G.). I think you will like the variety PLUS you have a fridge and microwave in your room so you may just have leftovers from last night's dinner you'll want to heat up instead. Options! I wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's great.

They really love their jobs and it shows. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are nice with amazing views of the Tetons. It is an adult only hotel which is refreshing and quiet. There isn't much action past 830 and you can't get room service or a drink past 9pm BUT, it isn't that big of a deal since it's so quiet here. The only thing that is a little annoying is that the system they have is an iPad based one. If you aren't used to having to use that for TV/Media there can be a slight learning curve. It's not that big of an issue and all in all that is a minimal thing. This place is very special and I highly recommend!

If you're lucky, your kids will take their kids on the same cheesy afternoon trip, and they'll send you pictures or a videograph or whatever it is we'll be using to appease grandparents when we're the grandparents.

The Family and I spent four nights at Dornan's Spur Ranch Cabins. Beginning last Saturday. I didn't…read moreknow what to expect from Dornan's. All I knew about it was that it was located in Grand Teton National Park. Driving to it you realize you're very isolated being that it is located about 20 minutes from Jackson. The cabins are part of a greater operation. They share the grounds with Dornan's Pizza and Pasta, grocery store, wine shop, and gift shop. I'll review each individually in this review. The cabins are duplexes that are grouped together in a small circle and are named. We stayed in Osprey. Each has a small porch with a charcoal grill for your barbecuing pleasure, and an ashtray if that's your thing.The decor is comfortable and inviting. The only part of the cabin that has carpet is the bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, and oven with basic cooking apparatus. The living room has a sofa bed and two very large comfortable chairs. There is also this thing called a telephone, but there isn't a tv. The wifi signal is strong and we were able to stream movies with no issues. The Snake River and Grand Tetons are behind the cabins. The view can be pretty incredible depending on the weather. It rained and snowed most of the time during our stay. If you don't feel like cooking, Dornan's Pizza and Pasta is a short walk. The food is pretty good. I had the vegetarian Stromboli and the Mrs. had a pizza. The restaurant also has a bar. If you want booze, there is a wine shop that has a really good selection of wine, beer, and hard alcohol. The prices are pretty reasonable. FYI-Wyoming is one of those states that has archaic liquor laws. Booze can't mingle with regular groceries. There is also a small grocery store and deli that makes incredible sandwiches. I suggest grabbing a sandwich to take with you when explore Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons. If you need souvenirs, Dornan's has that covered as well. You can even buy gas at a rather reasonable price. As accommodation prices go, Dornan's cabins are lower compared to the rest of the area. You don't get the glitz and glamour that is Jackson Hole, but you get peace and quiet. The staff were all very nice as well.

These cabins are located just outside the south entrance to Grand Teton, in a little village complex that includes a gas station, grocery store, liquor store, and a couple of restaurants. The cabins themselves are very comfortable, definitely an upscale feel, similar to what you'd find at Jenny Lake, but for half the price. One and two bedroom options are available, and each includes a full kitchen, dining table, bathroom, and living room with a pull-out sofa bed. There are only 12 cabins total (8 one-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom). If you're planning a trip, book early because they sell out fast.

I would say the only drawback was that there is not air conditioning. While this was not an issue for us because the weather was cooler (it was in June) and we could open our windows, I could see it being a problem if there was a heat wave or later in the summer.

I paid approximately $6,500 for an 8-9 day stay, and unfortunately the room felt very old and dated. There was also a noticeable old/musty smell that made the room feel even more worn. The biggest issue by far was the bathroom. The room had a huge jacuzzi tub that did not work, yet the shower was located inside this tub. To take a shower, you had to climb over an unusually large, high step and into the tub. Getting in was inconvenient, but getting back out while wet was genuinely concerning. The large tiled step is directly outside the tub, and one slip could result in a very serious fall or head injury. I'm surprised this setup is still being used in a hotel at this price point. The attached photo shows exactly what I mean. For approximately $6,500, I expected a much more updated, comfortable, and safer room. The property needs significant renovation, particularly the bathrooms. The location is excellent, and that is what brought my rating up to three stars. Without the location, I would have rated the stay lower.
