Words cannot explain how wonderful our visit was to Rancho Alegre Lodge. We certainly made the right decision a year ago when selecting it as a fun family spot to enjoy Jackson Hole while celebrating our son's wedding week. Rex, Connor, Hailey, and Ella were amazing while seeing to all of our family needs as well as delivering and serving up some of the best food ever! Our eight grandchildren have not stopped talking about the farm animals and gathering the eggs each morning. We are counting the days for our return. We stayed at Ranchi Alegre for a week of family activities around our sons wedding. The lodge was warm, comfortable and cool things on every wall and furniture pieces. Lots of history and our caretaker onsite took care of our needs. Loved the animals on the property! The family had fires every night and a big fire pit outside in a tepee. We comfortably slept 20 and bedding was very comfortable. Master bedroom is spectacular with incredible view of the Grand Tetons. If you have a special vacation you'll love this home! read more

This incredible ranch home complete with rolling grassy grounds is the perfect backdrop for a wedding, family reunion, or other large festive gathering. The caretakers are so kind and accommodating and have made our stay here warm and friendly. There are multiple bedrooms, sitting rooms, terraces and even a workout room. They've sprinkled historical trinkets and artifacts sprinkled all over the place. Plus ... They have a barn filled with rescue goats, micro mini pot belly pigs, a pony and a Rastafarian sheep. We booked the lodge for a bachelor weekend, what a fantastic venue. Frank, the owner, was so welcoming and made us feel at home. The lodge was perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed playing pool and Jenga! The house and it's furnishing is both quirky and charming. The icing on the cake was when the weather shut down the airport and the owner let us stay an additional night - thanks Frank! read more

Our family of 21 (10 adults and 11 kids) spent a week at Rancho Alegre Lodge and it was, as several of the kids said, "the best week ever". Before I describe how amazing it is, I should first say that it's a bit rustic and eclectic. It's not air conditioned (generally not a problem in Jackson) and a number of windows don't have screens (but enough do), and it could use a good cleaning. If you're looking for a five star resort with daily maid and turn down service, this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a place with incredible comfort, spectacular views, non-stop entertainment (and I don't mean kids on video games) this is it. Rex and Connor are the sons of the owners and were our hosts during our stay. There wasn't anything they wouldn't do for us from organizing daily afternoon whiffle ball games (Rex even mowed base paths into the lawn), to building fires in the firepit, to offering to go into town to pick up some milk or something else we needed. Heck, they even baby sat for the kids when the adults decided to go into town for dinner. We got back around 10 or so and Rex and Connor had all of the kids together playing a game of Sorry. Then there's the 32 chickens, 8 goats, 2 pigs, geese and now 6 turkeys. The young kids headed out early every morning and gathered fresh eggs for breakfast. It was simply an amazing experience. The only downside to our Rancho Alegre vacation was that the day before we were headed to Yellowstone, the torrential floods came in and closed the park. It was disappointing, but as one of the kids said..."I'm glad we couldn't go to Yellowstone because now we have to come back". And we will!! Thanks Rex and Connor. read more

Just spent 7 wonderful days at this location for a 10 member family reunion. We loved the location and the lodge, located on 7 acres with views of the Teton range and forests. Each family had their own room, and we enjoyed a daily buffet breakfast. No maid service unless contracted (additional cost) but he had free use of the laundry facilities in the garage. Owner lives on site and helps with restaurant recommendations. Located south of Jackson, it was close to the ski resorts and the town, and less than 100 miles from Old Faithful at Yellowstone. We loved the farm animals - pony, hogs, chickens, ducks and goats are family friendly, especially if you have food to share! We loved it! read more

This has been our favorite family vacation so far. And we've been to a lot of places! What a gorgeous and private setting with lots of room for the kids to play. We had 15 people in our family group and there was still plenty of room for everyone. Every morning there was an abundance of breakfast items to choose from. Shana went out of her way to be helpful in every way and to make sure we had everything we needed. Our whole family found the review left by Mark M to be very misleading and unfair. The property was decorated in a rustic style but was beautiful and private with gorgeous views. It seemed to us that he went way out of his way in a search for alleged problems with the home and grounds. Perhaps he was angling for some kind of refund? Trust me, his review was not an accurate depiction of the property or the host, Shana. And no, we're not connected in any way to the owners or managers of the lodge but we we were on our first visit there from California. We would all love to go back there again in the years to come. read more

Amazing place to stay!! We came with our family & friends and everyone left with fond memories. Frank the Owner was amazing giving special attention to each of us, and sharing many stories of his 30 years as owner of the Ranch. The home contains a warm & cozy mix of European antiques, western art and comfortable ranch furniture. We especially enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast, epic views of the Tetons from the many decks, late night games with family relaxing by the big fireplace in the great room. We just got back from our second vacation to Jackson, and both times stayed at Racho Alegre Lodge. We could not say enough good things about this place! To start - Shana and Shawn are absolutely amazing. They are extremely attentive, accommodating and fun/friendly to talk to. Every morning they prepare a breakfast, and its always a fun surprise to see what goodies are left for us! The animals on property are adorable and friendly! They are always the highlight of our trip! The views are spectacular. I've never seen anything more beautiful, both in summer and winter (we stayed both times of year). We must have taken 1,000 photos each! The house is full of character, and stories. It's a special place full of love and memories and you could spend an entire day looking around at all the old pictures & antiques. This is a spectacular property, and I imagine we will be back again! We had the best vacation here (again), thanks to Shana and Shawn (and all the animals =) ) THANK YOU!!! read more
