I rented a cabin in Island Park, Idaho. The cabin was cute and decorated nicely but the shower is tiny and doesn't get much hot water. I am petite and 5ft 4 and the shower was tight. Forget about shaving your legs and it only held enough hot water for one person to quickly shower and this was in summer. I can't imagine staying there in winter and the place is supposed to sleep 8. What to me was much worse is that the cabin has a hot tub which we used the night we checked in and the next morning and then later that morning a crew came to clean and put chemicals in the hot tub. It had not been done after the previous people checked out and before our arrival. I contacted Kabino about this and they simply stated it is not their policy to clean/service a hot tub prior to new arrivals. GROSS!!! read more

Detailed Review of Cabina Our vacation was ruined due to the extremely poor condition of the rental property and the irresponsible attitude of Cabina. We booked a house at 4160 Grandview Rd. #5 from September 10 to September 14. Upon arrival around 7 p.m., we discovered the following: * The rooms were poorly cleaned. Dust was present on all surfaces. It was obvious that the floor had only been vacuumed along the main walking paths, while areas near the furniture were completely neglected. For example, next to the bed where we were supposed to sleep, behind the nightstand, there was a large accumulation of dirt. * Leftover trash from previous guests. On the window sills we found a wooden popsicle stick, pieces of packaging, a hair tie, and other debris. * Bedding. The pillows had clear signs of prior use. When we lifted the blanket, it was obvious that the sheets had not been changed: they had hair, stains, and an unpleasant odor. This is absolutely unacceptable for any rental property. * Upstairs bathroom. The sink and fixtures were dirty, the mirror was covered in stains, and inside the shower we found hair left by previous guests. The entire bathroom looked neglected and had clearly not been cleaned properly for a long time. * Kitchen. The countertops were sticky, the refrigerator was filthy, and behind the drawers there was trash from earlier guests. The kitchen left a very bad impression overall. By the time we realized the true condition of the bedding (around 9 p.m.), it was too late to find and book another place for the night. Our friends (two families) who arrived a little later were forced to go to a store and buy new bedding just to make it through the night. My family included a small child. I suffer from chronic allergies to dust and mold, and after spending just one night in this house I had a serious allergic reaction. The next day, my wife, child, and I decided to move to another nearby hotel because it was simply impossible to remain in such conditions. A separate issue deserves special attention: the situation with the cleaning company. After our complaint, Cabina suggested sending cleaners. We explained that our daytime hours were fully planned with visits to the park, and that we returned home only after 6 p.m., so we could meet the cleaning crew around 7 p.m.. Instead, we received an absurd response that the cleaners could only come at midnight. This is outrageous and demonstrates complete disrespect for customers. I honestly don't know what Cabina was trying to prove with such a response--other than showing that they simply don't care about their guests' time or comfort. Later, when we contacted customer support (by Kateryna Kolha), we were told that the issue had supposedly been referred to their insurance company. However, as soon as we asked for the claim number and the name of the insurance company, communication stopped entirely, and they ignored all further messages. In the end, we were forced to move to the Sawtelle Mountain Resort, which cost us an additional $621. This hotel left a completely different impression--everything was perfect: clean, well-organized, and properly prepared for guests, exactly as it should be. We strongly do not recommend Cabina. The property was dirty and unprepared, the company failed to meet its obligations, and the customer support experience--with the ridiculous suggestion of midnight cleaning--only made matters worse. Kabino is a misrepresented horrible company. I used them as a property management company in Alpine WY AND they took care of my place so badly that instead of earning money I lost 20k in less than 1 year. I went in a couple of times and there was dust on things so deep it was repulsive. Then I checked the dryer vent and it looked like they never cleaned that!!! I left descriptive instructions on how to use the propane heat in each room and they never posted it!!! These people are repulsive humans that do not care about the properties they are taking care of. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! read more

Our family rented the "Grey Wolf Retreat" in Island Park , Idaho. It was a beautiful location, however, the cabin itself had great possibility, but was absolutely filthy. We paid almost 5000.00 for a 6 day stay, and the first thing we came in to was a toilet on the main floor bathroom that someone had had a "blowout" in and was not cleaned up, so my husband had to literally clean the toilet before any of us would use it. The porch was very nice and roomy, but again was not clean and the chairs were also dirty. The stairs were challenging to say the least. They were not cared for making them dangerous to get up on at crtain points. It had a lovely fire pit but was overgrown with weeds and had a random folding table and junk scattered around. The view of the forest however was amazing. So back into the house, our kids went to their upstairs rooms and the sheets on their beds weren't clean, it was like the people before had made the beds and nobody checked them to make sure they were clean. The towels in all of the bathrooms smelled like they had been left in the washer and gone sour then put in to dry. So we had to wash our sheets and towels before usng them. The one upstairs shower had not been cleaned and there was built up soap scum, like soap had been left and melted, then just left there without cleaning it at all. The kitchen was pretty much the same. the cupboards were dirty inside and out, the lazy susan was dirty and had food crumbs and dirty spots all over. We washed all of the dishes and pots and pans before we used them because they felt and looked dirty. We had to wash the main table before we used it because it was dusty and had glass marks all over. One of the round side tables, I had set out a puzzle on and the puzzle stuck to it. I moved the puzzle and there was a spot where a drink had spilled and not been cleaned up. The floors did not appear to hav been cleaned or vacuumed either. As the day went on, there began a leak in the celling. We called Kabino again (after calling about the toilet and other things) to let them know. They said they would send someone out, which they did send 2 maintenance guys out, that looked at it and said they couldn't fix it, without even trying. When called again, the person we spoke to said "They had a sneaking suspicion that it was something big, and they would have to tear into it once we were gone". So the two men that came then proceeded to mow the property. While mowing, they ran over the septic tank lid and broke it off, leaving it for us to cover with a bucket and dealing with the stench the rest of our time there. Once we went out to the fire pit, we were over run with bats flying at us. My Son In Law shined a light in the eaves and they were literally infested with bats. Should anyone have gotten bit by one or if they were to have gotten into the house, it could have been a very dangerous situation. If this cabin would have been cleaned and maintained properly, it could have been a great experience. However, it is quite obvious that this property management company does not take care of or maintain their properties or clean them at all. My last disappointment was that they did not supply enough toilet paper, paper towels or hand soap, for a group of 16, let alone a group of 20 that they advertise for. Paying the kind of money that we did, we should not have to supply those essentials ourselves. I run an Airbnb rental out of the basement apartment of my home, and know what is expected. I was highly disappointed at what little care was given to the cleanliness or the customer service of this property. I don't think I have ever given a bad review of any company in the past, but I was so disappointed in this property, and the money that I paid, I should not have had to do all the cleaning in order to feel comfortable staying somewhere that we paid a lot of money for. I would not recommend this property management properties to anyone. We felt completely taken advantage of, and had to put the warning out to any future tenants. read more

This was a disaster from the moment we walked up to this home in Island Park Idaho. I have attached a few of the pictures I took before leaving.. The hot tube was disgusting. The place looked like a frat party had just ended. There was bird crap all over the decking and posts. My wife and my buddy's wife refused to stay. We spent the night because we had no choice. It was late evening when we got there. So we left the next morning. I paid $7500 for six nights. I expected that it would look like what they represented it to be. I've sent them pictures of some of the disgusting things we saw. I haven't heard a word back from them. I have never had a problem or a complaint on an Airbnb property and I have rented many. I believed I was taking my wife and friends to first class home. This was not even close. We had to cancel a fly fishing float, a Kayaking trip and a boat rental. I want my money back. I was embarrassed that I made the mistake of trusting these people. read more

WORST place to book a vacation rental. The list goes on and on. Horrible management all you can get ahold of is a answering service and they argue with you. No hot water "Mabe enough for one shower a day could not fill up jacuzzi a quarter of the way", pool table is trashed and unplayable, hot tub lid was broke, fudge drawer was broke, shower head barely works for your cold shower, tubs don't drain, kitchen sink leaks, stains on carpet, plug ins missing cover so don't bring small kids, lip stick on cups, dirty tables from prior cups, holes in walls, water leak in ceiling downstairs just over all a dump for the price they charge. I'm SURE I am missing things. Was told maintenance would come and they never showed was told I would get a cal back to resolve the issue and never did. Ruined our vacation and it was $1,916.00 for 3 nights after all there added fees. Total waste!! read more

My friends booked a home for my bachelorette weekend in Jackson through Kabino for what was meant to be May of 2020. Of course, then COVID happened, and the experience in attempting to reschedule or refund has been absolutely terrible. First they only gave us through the end of the year (despite CDC travel warnings and safety concerns). We then pushed for a full year to rebook, and as of March 2021, they no long OFFER CABINS in Jackson Hole, but refuse to give us a refund now, even a partial one, despite not offering the service we originally agreed to pay for. Skip this company. They just want your money. And safety, or transparency, is clearly not of importance to this organization. read more

I would love to say: if you saw my picture, please DO NOT BOOK A ROOM THROUGH KABINO! That is the WORST decision I ever made. They never clean the snowy path-road, they let you stock during the middles night, they room not warm enough even you turn the heat on. By the way, the linens is disgusting! Smells bad and even have some strange stuff like people's skin on it. However, they charge me $150 cleaning fee and $55 24/7 service fee! Please, do not ever book a room with KABINO! I stayed at one kabino's cabins in island Park Idaho at Henry's hatch. The place was absolutely beautiful and very clean, the staff was great to deal with from start to finish. I would definitely recommend using kabino to anyone looking for a nice place to stay. Well worth the money! read more

My brothers and I rented a house through Kabino this past May for my fathers 60th birthday. Myself being in the Army, planning a vacation with the family has always been difficult due to obvious scheduling conflicts and we were very much looking forward to this vacation. Unfortunately the house we rented turned out to be infested with bats and one of my brothers got bit by one. State department of health required us all to get rabies shots. I called to inform Kabino and spoke to someone named Heather. I submitted all of the medical documentation, pictures of the bat and told them where the bats were located. There was no follow up from the company and we wound up paying thousands combined in medical bills. read more

This is the TACKIEST management company we have ever dealt with. We spent over 1000 dollars for a weekend trip, the cabin was filthy, the couch was broken, a strip eyelash was found in the "clean" sheets, dirty towels hung up as clean, the oven covered in filth that when turned on billowed smoke through out the entire property. The hot tub was green when we arrived and had a foul odor. I called to speak with a manager, Jasmine (not a manager when I spoke with her on Monday) answered told me that she would "fact check" what we were saying and would call back in 15 minutes. Well two days later...radio silence. I called in & I asked for a manager and Jasmine now stated that she is a manager?? (Promotion in two days, that's quick & suspicious.) I again tried to express our concerns which was met with being cut off every time I spoke, stated that it was my responsibility to contact them for every concern we had. We called them twice in a 3 day trip, apparently that wasn't enough for them. She stated that I was too demanding and was "blackballed" literally said the word "blackballed" from every renting from them again. She hung up the phone. I called back, she told me that if I did not stop calling she would contact the police given that I was harassing her? They have great properties that are being poorly maintained by a tacky & the most unprofessional company in the travel industry. WARNING...if you want to stay in run down facility, get fungus from a green spa and be yelled at when you address your concerns this is the place for you. I can say wholeheartedly that this company is solid. The properties they manage are selected tirelessly all throughout the United States and Mexico. I've seen first hand the amount of service and detail that goes into this kind of operation and the relationships they have with their owners and guests. In the industry they are well respected and have built this business from the ground up with the mission of helping owners and creating amazing experiences for vacation renters. What's disappointing to realize is how unethical people that want a free ride manipulate the system to blackmail companies for money and use review sites like this that won't protect business owners from defamation of false accusations. They didn't even bother to change the email subject from "pack your bags". It is now too late to book anything else as everything has been booked for months. read more

I have followed Yelp for years and never written a review...however, Kabino - undoubtedly - deserves my first one. I booked reservations to Jackson Hole, WY for a girls trip months ago and, with 3 weeks left, they just cancelled our reservation. Now, please don't misunderstand - I get it...things happen. However, sending a random email from an "info" address about the situation and then failing to provide an adequate solution is (as Courtney said on 2/22/18) just tacky...to say the least. Oh, their solution was to have me pay the difference of another rental...well, as you can imagine, being this close out and it being a high travel season for the area, the rentals were more than double our original payment. Paige Stacy did provide a "mechanical" follow up email (no phone call...nothing like a personal touch, right?!) where she reiterated her contract policies and that they were not liable...no solution provided other than to tell me they did have a nice property available, but they weren't going to give it to me - despite my inconvenience - because it was more expensive. (Mouth drop...) They don't know how to do the right thing --- I won't postulate on why... Although, this said, the hero here is Homeaway...fortunately, I booked through them before being diverted to this hot mess so they are in the midst of fixing the situation. Until now, we have never felt the need to write a negative review. Our family went on a wonderful vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and rented a house through Kabino, Inc. This was a structurally beautiful house. Unfortunately, this house has not been well maintained. Upon our arrival on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, we noticed that the air conditioning in the master suite was not working. During the time period that we rented this house it was quite warm and exceedingly uncomfortable. There was a loose banister, the toilet seat in the master bathroom was not attached to the toilet, there were 48 bulbs missing from light fixtures, a shower handle was off in the downstairs shower. We called for maintenance. No one answered so we left a message. On Wednesday morning, not having received a return call from maintenance we called Kabino who said someone would be there later in the day. When we returned to the house, no one had been there to address any of the issues we reported. We then called a total of 5 times. We finally got a message that the maintenance person, Denton, could not come because he was installing windows in Idaho and that he would be there first thing the next morning. When we returned on Thursday, he still had not been there so we called again and was told someone would come later. We called a total of 6 times on Thursday, August 2. On a number of those calls we reached a live person who assured us that someone would come. That evening, an independent contractor did show up as we were eating dinner. We went through the list of items that we had discussed and he went through the house to see what he could repair. He changed 4 bulbs which was all he had with him and he connected the toilet seat. He was not able to fix the air conditioning because he needed a licensed air conditioning person to add Freon. That was all he was able to do. We had called and asked to speak to a supervisor on three occasions and did not receive a return call. Other issues we had were: mold in the master shower due to water leaking, the hand soap dispensers in each bathroom had about an inch of soap that was diluted with water, crank on living room window did not work so window could not be opened and the house was dusty. The kitchen was poorly stocked with supplies. We don't think we should have to purchase dishwasher detergent for a 4 night stay. There were other items we are not mentioning in this review but we would not choose to stay here again. We have rented many luxury homes over the past 14 years and have always found the houses to be stocked with the essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms and if we ever had to call for maintenance, it was dealt with immediately. We called Kabino again when we arrived home and left a message asking for a supervisor to call. Again, we never received a return call. Obviously, Kabino is negligent in managing, cleaning and providing essentials in the properties they are renting to unsuspecting vacationers. read more
