I had such a great experience here on Sunday afternoon. Employee Anthony was able to suggest some comics for my husband to start reading. He can't wait to go back and pick up some more. Anthony knows his stuff, he is very knowledgeable about what this store sells. Thanks, Anthony! read more

There looks to be a great selection of back issues. I would've loved to spend hours looking through and collecting a few choice issues, unfortunately, the manager there doesn't really let you browse. He'll "jokingly" pester you to have a stack "this tall" and that by browsing you're "overthinking it, just buy a bunch." Well, I would've loved to buy a bunch, but the browsing experience was so unbearably uncomfortable that I simply grabbed the latest Spider-Man and got myself out of there. Like I said, they look to have a nice big catalogue of backorders, but don't be expected to be able to look through them in peace. I don't enjoy being hounded to buy everything as I browse, so I can't recommend this shop to anyone similar to me, nor do I think I'll ever return. read more

The Comics and Games stores are in two different storefronts, with Comics in the front and the Gaming store directly behind it. The Comics shop is rather small but has a huge longbox selection. Literally there are boxes everywhere and the prices were reasonable. They also carry a decent stock of new books, but legacy books are clearly this shops expertise. Shop also carries a mix of classic toys, posters, and artwork for sale. The employee in the shop during my visit was knowledgeable and gave me some tips about the current book series I'm collecting The Game shop seemed to primary be a Magic the Gathering shop, with little stock in other items. Staff member was friendly and shop was decently sized but it really didn't meet my needs. Overall, skip the game store and go in the comics shop. Worth a stop without question. read more

This comic book stores smashes the competition like the Thing rocking Clobberin Time. Flashback Comics is the real deal, with a ton of long boxes full of comic goodness. It is all clearly marked, so you'll have no trouble finding some of those key back issues. I was able to fill in a major hole in my "Luke Cage, Hero for Hire" run with minimal effort. Of course, although Flashback Comics has an amazing collection back issues and coveted keys, it also boasts a very nice selection of modern titles and cool variants. In fact, I found a few Dark Justice League variants at cover price just sitting on the shelf. But this best thing about this shop is the customer service. Unlike a few shops in the area, the guys and gals at Flashback aren't there just to make a buck. I have always left this shop with the knowledge that I'd scored a good deal and hadn't been ripped off. I'm sorry to say that I can't say the same about every comic shop in the area. Yup, hands down this is the best comic book shop in the area! read more

I make it a point to stop at as many different comic stores just to see how it feels, what they provide, and how is the service. I love comics and everything about the life. As soon as I found this place I made it my home. You won't find that old school comic store feel, with the knowledge and hospitality often missing from comic stores very much. Here they have the selection and a thorough back issue selection. And just like every comic shop should, thy have that one guy that knows everything about comics. Makes me feel good to stop by here. Come through, you will not be disappointed. Ask for Troy... read more

A great comic book store with a good selection. The only down side I would say is that the store is kind of small but they have a bigger store in Dumfries that has a way bigger selection. Also the books are priced a bit above what you can find online but I didn't mind spending a tad more to get a good customer experience. read more

A hidden gem in Woodbridge, Flashback Comics & Games is a graphic novel-lovers paradise! When I first walked in, I noticed that the store was quite small, but the store contained mass quantities of comic books! The old comic book collector version of myself was going crazy. I diligently looked though the many, many boxes of comics for almost 30 minutes, until I realized that if I didn't leave the store, I probably would've spent my entire day there! It's such a great place for anyone that appreciates comic books/graphic novels. The owner (at least I believe he's the owner) is such a nice guy as well! Helping each customer that walked through the door. He also knew his stuff when it came to Marvel comics. Flashback has this subscription service where you pay a monthly fee and they hold a number of comics of your choosing (weekly) for you to pick up whenever you'd like. They also have an excellent collection of valuable comics for sale. If you love comic books, this is definitely the place for you. I know it can be quite the drive from most places in NOVA (considering it's in Woodbridge), but it is totally worth it. read more

Flashback Comics - I was finding this and I found it! I was look for it for almost 9years - Comic Books Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

This is a "Comic Shop", and that is said as the highest complement. Pulled up and saw the posters in the windows (cool), walked in and saw long boxes of back issues with racks of comics on display (very cool), I was warmly greeted immediately (very, very cool). I knew right away I found a Gem, feelings of nostalgia came over me as I was taken back to the comic book shop that got me started so many years ago. I popped in thinking a quick look around, ended up being there for almost 3 hours and here is why - 1) So many boxes and displays to look at, neatly organized, in Alphabetical order/chronological. Easy to browse and fairly priced. I always look at key issues to get a feel of where they are at price wise (very fair). There are always bundles of storylines, series which is helpful. 2) this place is hopping & popping (subscription service available) lots of conversations & good info. 3) Spearheading the conversation is the guy behind the counter "Troy", he engaged everyone and talk about spitting knowledge- WOW, Troy knows his stuff and not limited to one area (DC, Marvel or group/character) he spoke about everything and does it well with no condescending attitude (like some places). My wife called and I was like Holy Crap, I just spent 3 hours listening, discussing, & gaining knowledge at a comic shop - A COMIC SHOP !!! Been years since I have done that (YEARS). Met some great people (fellow customers) and Troy, who greeted each one as they walked through the door, most by name. I even plugged a few holes in my collection without breaking the bank. Definitely will be back !!! read more

Flashback Comics - Just one look and you see Comic Shop !!! - Comic Books Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

I visited Flashback Comics for the first time today and had such a great experience. I've lived in the area for much of my life but jut got around visiting this place. First off their selection of New Comics & Back Issues is impressive, so much you'll want to keep coming back just going through everything! But what makes this place somewhere I want to keep coming back to every week was, Troy the owner (I assume). We meet the first time today and he spent a long time chatting with me on stuff to buy but also just fun comic book conversation. He knows what he is talking about and seems very willing to chat comics with just a new person walking in! I'm planning on reading comics on a weekly basis again, and I found the place where it will be! read more

Little to no broad variety or selection of comics , they are distributed by Diamond which is one of the worst comic distributors on Earth, very limited selection of comics and collectible items. No Doctor who merchandise either for Whovians. read more

This is my go to shop for comics. They have a fantastic back issue selection, wide ranging new comics, decent selection of collected books (hard and soft cover) as well as statues and other collectibles to fill your home with. All of that easily earns Flashback 4 stars, but where the 5th star comes in is the store's manager Troy-David. He has a passion for comics seemingly unparalleled in the universe. He also has a knowledge of comics that will astound anyone. And while yes, he is trying to sell you as many books as possible, he is trying to make sure that you find the book that is perfect for you. If you are in the area, this is the store you need to stop into. read more

Not a good store it used to be good but after new ownership it's gone down hill. There's no longer a a good discount for being a subscriber and if you try negotiating price on anything Ed doesn't wanna budge. He's like "it's that price because I know I can get that for it" terrible way to run a shop. read more

I am a new customer but so far so great, a little shop that reminds me of older stores with character but not fancy. I do highly recommend it for weekly comics. read more

I started collecting comics not long ago, when I decided to start collecting and visited this store it BLEW MY MIND. They have everything!!! And the service is outstanding. Troy, the store manager is a comic encyclopedia (literally). He knows everything, title, issue #, year, writer, story, etc. This is now my favorite place to go. I travel a lot and I visit different comic book stores around the country and nothing like this place. They offer discounts for subscribers. Since I went in the first day they treated me like family. Prices are very reasonable. They have a ton of vintage comics which is what I like the most. Online prices will always be lower that any comic book store, but I rather spend my money here because I get to see what I'm buying, the service, the information I get from Troy and I get support the store and the local business. read more

Specializes in singles (and has an extensive collection thereof), so if you're looking for prestige hardcover editions, this might not be your place. There are a few trades and hardcover books, but longboxes are king here. read more

Flashback Comics is a rarity in the industry and thats competition. Its across the street from a competitor. On Wednesdays its not uncommon to see customers going to both stores to compare prices. Flashback Comics strong point is back issues, trades. The staff really goes out of its way to make it happen for collectors to fill holes in their collections. the number #1 asset for Flash Comics is Troy who is literally the face of the business. His knowledge of comics history is broad. But he is never condescending to newbies to the comic book universe. When Troy is not there the customer service takes a massive drop. The other workers barely acknowledge your existence nor say thank you for your business. Thus my rating. I also gave three stars because it have not move passed the dusty sweat/comic shop stereotype. The main glass counter has been cracked for months with tape keeping it together . They also need to badly renovate and or redesign behind the counter . Its clogged with goodies that appear to sit on the shelf for months at a time collecting dust. read more

This place gets a 4 for friendliness. They really like to talk comics and if you like digging through back issues hoping to find a gem, this is the place to go. Not a lot of new stuff, but a good place to hit if you're trying to find that missing piece fot your collection. read more

Decent selection of comics, sales associate Troy is extremely knowledgeable, but is also a fan of the hard sell.

We have been to this comic shop a couple of times and two things make it really stand out: the service and the selection. The staff at the comic shop are so pleasant and helpful. They are always a wealth of information and suggestions if you are looking for something new. They are also really great with the kids that come into the shop and never push you to buy things. Selection is great and has a lot of back issues and old and new selection. They are also great about ordering anything you might need. The hours can be kind of funky between the front and back store, but it is usually not an issue. The game store in the back on the other hand was a totally different experience. I have only been back there once due to a very rude staff member who was more focussed on his phone than what I was asking. Of which it took me about 5 minutes to even get the guy to talk to me. The game sides selection of products is pretty slim too. I don't know if I came in at an inopportune time or what, but I will definitely not be returning to the "game store" section of this business. read more

Top-notch customer service and gold Quality knowledgeable staff. Troy is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is very professional and helpful in keeping the comic book world on going and I will support his shop. I have found a new favorite local comic book store. read more

While I am not a comic fan, I saw the sign for this place one day while driving by and immediately told my boyfriend. We have been back several times since! My boyfriend particularly loves that they have so many vintage-type comics on hand, especially Todd McFarlane's Spider-Man. Every time we are in, he picks Troy's brain for a particular issue, and Troy always knows the series and issue number. It's amazing! But don't worry, they do also carry plenty of recent-releases like TWD. A small amount of comic-related merch, but they do have really nice artwork of the characters for sale as well. read more

I've only started collecting comics recently and this store is the place to go so far. I've been to this store on two different occasions with the thought of buying comics as my overall objective. The first time the employee working was very helpful. He wasn't trying to get a noob to buy an inordinate amount of comics, he instead wanted me to get the most bang for my buck and recommended two comics that were very great reads. The second time, the comic shop was closed and I had to go the game shop to get into the store. I was still able to get some comics but the extra steps that I had to take, in my mind were not needed and could be fixed easily if more staff were working that day. I'm giving it four stars because of the second trip, and having to go to the game store to get some books. Overall I have enjoyed my trips to this store and will come here very often. read more

I recently stopped by Flashback Comics & Games with parents who were visiting out of town. My dad, who is also a comic book dealer and collector, wanted to check out their store. One thing I quickly noticed was how one of the employees, Troy, warmly greeted everyone that entered the store. He seemed to have developed personal relationships with most of people who came in. He also had in-depth conversations with my dad about about the history of several comic book characters- things my dad did not even know. It was amazing to watch the two go back and forth. If you are looking for a family friendly store, look no further. read more

I've been to the local comic shops in Woodbridge, and decided Flashback Comics is my kind of place. The staff/owner is extremely helpful and seemed to really care about the customers that walked through the door. These guys are completely awesome! They are extremely friendly, and the store is great whether you've been collecting for years or you just started reading comicbooks.
