Toy Trains! Model Kits! And all the other art sets, car tracks, European and Japanese toys and "Stuff." You know how a modern store just has people behind the counter? Hobby Works has staff walking the floor to help you. And they really help. And they know their stuff. And when you're there, it's got that friendly clubhouse atmosphere like you stopped off here while walking home from school in the 6th grade. Sometimes it feels like with online shopping, kids won't ever experience the friendly local stores like we did. Not while Hobby Works is open, it's all modern, but it's a shopping experience that most stores lost over the years- and our kids deserve to experience that friendliness.

I brought a few, so we could swap them out for a few "easier" puzzles that my kids could do. It's such a cool idea and love it and came back with 3 kiddo options. The store is so wonderful, located right across the way from Eastern Market on Capitol Hill. All of the staff is not just incredibly friendly, but quick to offer advice on games and puzzles to take home. There is a room where you can attempt puzzles and games.
