I am very loyal to flash automotive. I have brought my close friends here as well. I was first sent to them by Quantz. Quantz did all the repairs and maintenance on my since 1986. Quantz decided to be collision only and they sent me to Flash automotive for repairs and maintenance. They look over my vehicle and they let me know what maintenance is needed, approximately what it will cost and how urgent it is. I have limited income and it really helps me to spread things out and put a little bit in each month. The work they do is excellent. They are warm and friendly. Flash Automotive Incompetent! Took my vehicle in. Gave them explicit instructions on how to recreate the issue. Also gave them explicit approval to just replace said parts - No Diagnostics necessary. Just replace the parts. Easiest job ever - just replace the parts. I dropped it off when the problem was present and obvious , but Brendan refused to go for a test drive, or even go to the parking lot so I could show him the problem. Brenda called 8 days later saying they couldn't diagnose the problem. He said his master mechanic with 40 whatever years of experience couldn't duplicate the issue - and admitted they did not drive it the minimum duration I told them to to replicate the problem. Once again, why are you trying to diagnose something that you had approval to just fix?! I don't care how experienced the mechanic is. If they are unwilling to do their due diligence in diagnosing the problem, especially with explicit instructions from the customer (yes, some customers know what they're talking about) all that experience is irrelevant. Incompetent. They attempted to say it was just a bad gauge, but sadly that's not the case and wouldn't case the actual problem. And the fact that they couldn't diagnose ONE issue, they ignored the other issues and didn't service them. Brendan refused service. They had it 8 days didn't repair a warranty issue and the other two items they had approval to do so without any diagnostics. They fixed nothing! Completely incompetent and evidently hard of hearing to. Brendan is arrogant and does not listen to the customer. No chance I'd ever recommend this company. We came across Flash Automotive when we had an unexpected car issue on a cross-country trip. It was early in the morning, but we knew that this could seriously hamper our journey out of New Mexico. We stopped by Flash Auto, and Jerry, Paul, and Brandon took great care of us. They fixed the problem and got us back on the road in under 45 minutes! After a long road trip, I pulled into my parking lot and then my car decided that was it. I looked up what it could possibly be and came to the sad realization that the power steering pump had likely failed. The next day I called around and priced out some options. Nobody could take my car this week except for Flash. This is important because I commute about 30 minutes to and from work. I brought it in the next day and they ran the diagnostics and confirmed my suspicions over the phone. I have cursory car knowledge and suggested a remanufactured part instead of a brand new one, as the brand new part's price was very steep. They worked with me on finding one close to Albuquerque (Denver, I think he said), and they had everything fixed by the afternoon on the next day! They certainly live up to their name! Most females I know cringe at the thought of taking their car to a mechanic and getting ripped off especially with A/C problems which can be costly. I went here based on web reviews and was not disappointed. Chris, the service manager, was friendly and explained everything. They examined my car and explained recommendations. Charges were reasonable and service prompt. They have a waiting room with wi-fi. I highly recommend them for auto maintenance and repairs knowing you won't get ripped off. read more

2 days and $130 to "diagnose" a disconnected line and fill with transmission fluid. That's ok. When I asked to have it explained why it took so long and cost so much I was told to "do it myself and not bring it in if I thought I could do better". That is not ok. It was towed by AAA and this was their recommended shop. Next time I'll take the guys advice and have it taken anywhere else but Flash. read more

Honest place - the first time I dealt with them they actually advised me against repairing my car and spending $$$ at their shop because the car was in such poor shape they couldn't guarantee repairing it. That's right, instead of taking my money to do ineffectual and *costly* repairs and then claim more needs to be done, they actually told me *not* to spend money trying to repair it and instead to sell it for parts or donate to a charity. Needless to say I've been loyal since then, and never had a bad experience there. In light of the other reviews, I feel compelled to add that I am a female and never experienced the condescending tone or overcharging attempts that other places seem to love whenever they see an unaccompanied female enter their store (I'm looking at you, Pep Boys!). Called on Monday and spoke with Jerry about my radiator light. He made an appointment for me first thing Tuesday morning even without my asking. Very concerned and professional. The people there give you old fashion customer service. Hard to find these days. Very nice facility. The customer lounge is large, clean and offers coffee and soft drinks while you wait. They fixed my car and I was on the road within an hour. read more

A friend recommended Flash Auto. She brings her Subaru there because they do "excellent, honest work and treat women with respect." Flash Auto took good care of my vintage Toyota pick up. Chris used simple language to explain options and charges to me. Jerry encouraged me to be proactive, showing me something to keep watch on. I felt informed. I notice a bad Yelp review by a woman complaining of "condescending attitude" and how they got her on the road faster than expected. I read some of the reviewers other Yelp comments, you know how the annoying squeaky hinge gets the oil first? True, Flash Auto is not the cheapest mechanic in town, but I believe you get what you pay for. Maintaining a safe vehicle is important to me and I will pay good money when customer service and quality are excellent. I know several women besides myself who take our vehicles to Flash Auto and have consistently good experiences. read more

I've been going to Flash Automotive for over 10 years. As a woman, I have always felt like I was treated fairly and with respect. My last visit I had a problem with my 4 year old car. They diagnosed a problem, looked it up on the internet and told me it was covered by my warranty with my dealer. They did not charge me. They also explained to me what was going on so that I had more information when I went to the dealer. That's honesty and helpfulness at its best. read more
