If it wasn't for Trevor I would have missed my road trip tomorrow. He was honest and helpful The shop got my brakes fixed in less than 3 hours and I am able to head as planned tomorrow. As long as Trevor is there I probably will never go anywhere else. And my payment was cheaper than the estimate. Honestly great experience and I am so grateful my car is safe now. read more

I took my VW Jetta Sport Wagon and got a vehicle health inspection. I had several items addressed. One item was replacement of the rear shock absorbers. After all the work was completed, I picked up the car. As I drove out of the parking lot, I immediately heard a rattling sound in the left rear area that I had never heard before. I kept for a few days to see if I could identify the source of the noise. I did not find anything but found that the air cleaner hose was not reconnected and the battery box were not secure (the air filter and battery were replaced in this service visit). I took the vehicle back to the shop. They told me the rattling noise was somewhere behind interior panels and that I needed to take it to a body shop. I took it to my body shop and they removed interior panels and inspected. They found no issues but believed it was in the left rear suspension. They gave me the name of a shop that specializes in foreign cars. I took it there and the found loose bolts on the left rear suspension. Fortunately, I was able to get the body shop and VW mechanic not to charge me for that particular trouble shouting. The mechanic was going to charge me $200 for the troubleshooting. I went back the shop that installed the shocks asking for a refund of the $200 it would have cost me as compensation for all the difficulties (leaving the car at 2 other shops and the transportation to and from the shops over the course of two weeks). They refused and offered me a discount on my next service. WHY WOULD I EVEN WANT TO GO BACK! read more

They were overcharging for services not needed. I needed a ac vacuum and recharge only. They tried to say I needed a whole ac system costing in the thousands! read more

There's a decided lack of willing and able classic-auto repair options these days. Hard to find the talent, and harder to find the available talent. Don's was a great relief to find. Cliff was an absolute doll, who saw to my ailing Rhonda, a '69 Cadillac Deville that was barely stumbling along. Turns out she just needed some carburetor maintenance and a couple other random things. He stayed late that night (to his wife's dismay) to wait for me to pick it up after hours, and gave me a thorough report and some recommended additional maintenance that was admittedly not immediately critical. I got out of there for under $700, which was a stellar deal in my automotively-lacking mind. Now she drives like a dream... read more

Brown's Automotive Experts - Northeast Heights - My Rhonda: she's a delicate beast - Auto Repair Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Brown's on Wyoming saved my car! I won't be going anywhere else. Topnotch service, both in the care of my vehicle, as well as going above and beyond customer service. They even take photos of the parts in your car that they're concerned about, so you can understand their process. It's really stellar. I came to them after another shop in the area took me on an emotional ride (pun intended) when I went in for a 100k mile maintenance check. Long story kind of short, this other shop broke a part in my engine that caused a gnarly oil leak. They denied it, and then tried to get me to buy two new cylinder heads (for $5500, and my heads were totally fine). I was looking at buying new cars and feeling pretty overwhelmed. A friend had referred us to see Jeremy at Brown's and I am so grateful he did. Mike and Jeremy were incredibly patient with me telling them my whole saga and seemed determined to right this unfortunate wrong. In the end, Jeremy worked magic and my car is running better than ever! I really can't sing their praises enough. Don't hesitate to take your vehicles there! read more

This place over charges like a m****** on top of that. They're literally there to squeeze as much money from you as possible. I called with a basic request for a quote on a fuel pump replacement and they wouldn't give it to me saying they need to inspect first to see other problems, cracks, etc. so they made me pay $200 for an inspection. When the inspection was done, turns out all I needed was a of fuel pump replacement exactly what I was asking for a quote on so I can make sure they won't overcharge me. Well guess what, they overcharge. They want 1300 for a fuel pump on a 350z. Would've been great if they had let me know the price since this is exactly the service that I was asking for that way I would've known how much they overcharge. read more

Well, they fixed the issue.... Too bad it took a negative review to get it done though. It just confirmed, never leave any mechanics shop without checking the work, or looking under the hood at least. No, a Manager shouldn't have to double check a mechanics work, it should be a given. The mechanic (He or she) should not have to be spoon fed either. Lesson learned by the shop (I think maybe) ,and for sure myself. I am willing to give them another try. Hopefully, the next time it will be a better experience for myself. Yes, it is hard to find a company that is trust worthy, I do indeed miss Don..... I hope he is doing well. read more

offered to replace my Rack and Pinion and fix my electrical issue in exchange for $8000! Replaced my rack and pinion myself for a fraction of the price. They also lied about my K member being damaged in an attempt to squeeze money out of me. One of the members did offer me a ride to my residence after I dropped off my car for a diagnosis, but the service was so terrible I cannot rate any higher than one star. *WOULD NOT RECOMMEND* read more

I highly recommend Don's Auto & Service Center. On two occasions I brought in vehicles with vexing problems. The staff at Don's performed excellent work in helping me to resolve the issues. Don' s staff is skilled, friendly and approachable. I can't stress enough how rare it is to find a repair shop that listens to your concerns and then takes the time to clearly explain the issues. On both occasions they thoroughly investigated the problem and resolved it. On my most recent visit with a 1940 vehicle they arranged for an expert on these vehicles to come in and explain my problem. I have never experienced this level of customer support. Finding a reliable and trustworthy auto repair facility can be challenging and bad choices can be frustrating and expensive. I recommend Don's as the answer to this problem. read more

My husband and I were traveling across the country when my power steering faulted near Albuquerque. We tried calling a couple dealerships since my car is under warranty but they couldn't even diagnose the problem for 3-7 days. We looked up nearby mechanics and came across Brown's Automotive Experts. Cliff and Dustin were so nice and accomodating. They prioritized us being travelers and no where to stay. They let us stay in the office for the entire time my car was being worked on and even reccommended lunch places for us. They even offered to drive us to get food or a possible hotel if it came down to us staying another night. Some of the mechanics even gave my dog some treats. They explained everything and showed us pictures of what had to be done for my car. They kept us updated during the entire process. We were able to hit the road same day and continue our drive to the east coast. Everything ran perfect for the remainder of the trip (about 1,800 miles). We cannot thank these guys enough. We were in what could have been a very difficult situation, but they treated us like family. read more

I wrote the five star review from two days ago. If I hadn't seen the work done, I would've thought they did nothing. I paid $2500 for a clutch replacement that is worse than before- it's dangerous! If I get into an accident because I can't shift into gear in traffic, it's lawsuit time. read more

So grateful I found this incredible mechanic for an oil change when I'm traveling out of state. I was so clearly dealing with mechanics who had integrity and knowledge. Christophe is a rockstar read more

The Best Auto Body shop in Albuquerque hands down. Don's was highly recommended by a close friend and after the first visit I knew why. So impressed with the crew at Don's Auto, especially Cliff, GM.  While on a short visit to see my 83 yr young mom, heard a horrible screeching sound. Took vehicle to Pep Boys  as they were the only mechanic-type shop open on a Sunday. Unsatisfied w/ their confidence of assessment and skill, I  was referred to Don's. First thing Monday morning, Cliff took my call, patiently listened to my highly caffeinated assessment and kindly stated he would work me in to review the issue that day.  Eventhough short staffed and full bays, Cliff took time to review the issue, asked great questions, and worked  us in within 72 hrs  for the repair. He communicated well, called  me to review the progress, and before I pummeled him w/ follow up questions, he kindly and clearly told me what to expect from our vehicle that had just had major surgery. I really appreciated the humaness of Cliff's control of a stressful situation and the respect shown. I HIGHLY recommend Don's Auto for your vehicle in need. Thanks Cliff! read more

My Ford F150 is my primary transportation and is very important to me; so when it suddenly started displaying the dreaded "check engine light". I immediately called Don's Auto & Service Center and setup an appointment for the next morning. When I arrived the staff checked it out right away - no wait. In less than 30 minutes they diagnosed the problem, a bad wire between the coil pack and spark plug; a simple and inexpensive fix. Their diagnoses was right on and the fix solved my problem. They also checked the other critical systems, topped the oil off and gave my truck a clean bill of health. The staff was very knowledgeable, polite and honest. I was so relieved to find a great service facility that I can count on to honestly diagnose, repair and advise me on keeping my most important asset dependably running. Great people, great service. read more

I was impressed and touched by their excellent customer service and commitment to my vehicle's repair. While on a trip to Albuquerque, I needed some NAPA warranty work done on my vehicle. Each person I encountered was so helpful and dedicated to this task, from the receptionist, to the technician and the owner. I would recommend this shop to my friends and family there in ABQ!! read more

Was looking for a dependable honest mechanic for my old 94 Toyota Camry and had been to several other recommended shops however I will forever entrust any vehicle I own to Don,s Auto. The owner was happy to show me exactly what the problems were and estimated cost in print out. He wanted to know my name, shook my hand and even offered me a donut! Diane in the office is great. My car has been restored to driveable safe condition. I also received calls on the progress. The shop is clean. In no way is this a negative but waiting area is limited and if you live far from them you will need a cab or a ride home to work etc. But its worth it because they are trustworthy and knowledgeable. read more

Cliff and Don have my business. Cliff did what he said he was going to do, when he said he would do it, at the price he said he would do it. He is a pretty straight shooter and I appreciate that. Once I took the car in and he fixed something simple and would not accept payment. read more

Just had my Toyota van serviced at Don's. Don is one of the nicest and honest mechanics I've ever met. Dee (front desk) was welcoming and accommodating to my family (and dog). If I lived in Albuquerque, Don would be the only person I'd bring my vehicles to. Strongly recommend read more

I called Don's to schedule a pre-sale inspection of a used vehicle. They provided a free once-over, and did so in a timely, courteous manner, even though I changed the appointment twice. They gave me some information that was functionally important, including some feedback that the dealer didn't expect. Had I needed their services, I would have had them do repairs without hesitation; as it was, the dealer provided the repairs. Highly recommended!! read more
