Did half the job I was promised. Claimed they would replace all my exterior lights that were burnt out b/c of safety issue-- I still have one brake light and one headlight dead, which is still dangerous because I drive in the dark for work. I told the mechanic that I had all new windshield wiper blades (3) ready for install, in new packaging, inside my car; mechanic only replaced ONE of the windshield wiper blades even though all packages were visible in car. The only thing I know they did was the oil change requested-- for the rest of my work order I have no idea. Not to mention-- my brakes were replaced and there is now damage to my passenger side front bumper, and so much plastic sticks out into my wheel well that it has been scraping and damaging my wheel! I am a student-- i did not need even more problems to my car than what I started with. I even called back to let them know what work had not been completed-- it has been a week and I have heard NOTHING back. Please get organized y'all, and do what was promised! I would NOT recommend going here. 1 star because the desk attendant was kind, and because the order qualifiers were met at first. I mean seriously Wayne's? read more

I've had been having trouble finding a reliable mechanic for over 8 months, knowing that I had at least one engine oil leak, how bad I had no clue, but then I started to lose a quart of oil every week, so I knew something was wrong. I knew there was quite a bit wrong with my high mileage 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, but one step at a time with priorities. I love my car and have had it for 15 years now and don't plan for it to slow down any time soon. I came across their name under Overall Services Inc. in the North Valley of Albuquerque. One of the mechanics thought I was looking for a different shop down the road when I mentioned their name, because apparently, he only knew it as Wayne's Automotive Inc. I somehow came across their page with their number, probably using google, they had good ratings, gave them a call. Lisa answered the phone and she was delightful to talk to. She actually listened to what you were concerned about instead of the million other things she could have done, but she didn't. We talked, set up an appt. for Friday at 8:30 in the morning. When I met Lisa, the first thing I thought from not listening to her, but watching her actions. You could tell she was a busy person. Still, she treated me with the upmost respect and courtesy AND she actually listened to everything I had to say. I gave her a sheet of paper listing all the concerns that I had with my car and the parts that I had bought prior to showing up to their shop. She made copies of the sheet right away and gave it to the mechanics. The mechanics looked it over. They started to work on my car on Monday morning. It took them one day to make an estimate and I brought it back the next day, Tuesday. The car ended up having 3 oil leaks and not only did they install my oil pan gasket that I brought, they did a complete oil change with the oil filter, oil drain plug, and 5 quarts of high mile oil that I had bought. They added the Prolong engine treatment into my engine like I asked. They installed a new thermostat that I had. Put back on a plastic "Engine under cover" shield with two bolts. Figured the manufacturer put it there for a reason. They flushed my radiator with Dex coolant that I provided. With all that said, they did not charge me a Single PENNY for any of the parts that I brought and listened to my concerns and did exactly as I asked. Which should always be the case, but unfortunately these days it's hard to find. The only unexpected charges were the timing cover gasket set and extra labor hours for the oil leaks. But you want quality repair, right? Well you got to pay for that specialty. Not only did they do everything I asked, they went above and beyond. Let me explain why. For 1., I had an air filter in the trunk of my car, I was going to replace it sooner than later. Only takes 4 minutes. But they put it in for me with no charge. Not only did they replace my air filter. The day before I had to bring the car back to the shop, I accidently broke my driver's side mirror, which was actually just replaced like 2-3 months ago because my sister smashed my original one with a truck door. I had no expectations of them fixing it. I figured me and my dad could smash it out with a drill and a few bolts and nuts. Nope not needed. It was done, again, with no charge. My mirror was fixed! Expect some time for your vehicle to get settled into the shop and diagnosed or looked at and then for them to finally start working on your car. My intuition tells me that they are not trying to blow anyone off, if they ever give off that vibe, they are FOR 1. A very Busy Shop and it does take some time for them to figure out what's going on exactly. They don't want to give you bad information, so you have to wait longer. Lisa also goes out of her way to call multiple places trying to find the lowest price on parts you don't provide yourself. For instance, an issue that you weren't aware of and needs to be addressed. AND 2. Since they are a very busy shop, that most likely means they are good at what they do and get a lot of business, so if you want that same treatment, you have to wait in line, and Pay Mechanics for their specialty. Building a relationship with your car is important, you know what has and has not been done with it. I will be going to them for jobs that you have to have a mechanic to take care of from now on. Again, Highly Recommended. Yay! My engine got some loving, tender care and no more leaks! Hopefully, I prevented bigger expenses and extended the life of my engine! I think I'm only going to start using synthetic engine oil from now on and eventually pay for higher quality gas after a fuel system cleaning because it's an older car. Thank you, Wayne's Automotive Inc.! read more

Wayne's Automotive - Auto Repair Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

My car on idle and on the road suddenly started vibrating and I found out that it had a cylinder that was misfiring and caused my car to not run at full power. I was able to go to AutoZone and purchase a new spark plug and was able to get help at Wayne's auto motive on installing the spark plug and seeing if the problem was fixed. The problem still persisted however the mechanic Ed was able to help me diagnose that the main culprit of the misfiring cylinder was a failing coil. I purchased a new coil and with the help of Ed Wayne's Automotive the problem was fixed and I was back on the road immediately. Thank you Ed for all your help in diagnosing this misfiring cylinder issue that I was having and to Wayne's automotive! read more

What a rip off of $100! Wayne does not own this place anymore and lousy customer service. Also, do not trust them with Transmission or shift problems they do not know what they are doing. I went in and asked if they can fix Shift Solenoid or could diagnose a problem. They said that they could and that they send it to the shop called Budget Transmissions. I trusted the lady (billing) at the counter. They charged me $100 (an hour) to have it diagnosed and did not take it to Budget Transmissions!! They lied!! I do not think it took an hour to tell me what the problem was that other car parts places had diagnosed in a short time for free and the same results! The owner and mechanic said it was a bad Transmission, not true!! I then went to a transmission shop and they quickly diagnosed my Mazda 3 and told me it was the TCM (Transmission Control Module) and the transmission was good. The year and make of this Mazda has a history of problems with the TCM as it ages. The module is the 5" x 6" computer unit for Automatic cars. I will never go to Wayne's Automotive again!! read more

Fantastic Auto Service! I've been pleased to take my vehicles to Wayne's Automotive/Overall Services for about 4-1/2 years now. I won't go anywhere else, they're always prompt, courteous and helpful when my daughters, wife or I need a ride. My 2010 Toyota 4Runner was painter there last summer and it still looks good. They even cleaned well before delivering it up me. I have had the misfortune to need a paint n body man, but made lemonade outta lemons when I met Wayne and Clara at a networking event. I had two jeeps, one in need of mechanical repair and another needed a fender painted. For the mechanical repairs I have no complaints. Not the least expensive place in town but the most and the work has held up. But the paint job... the Jeep was a beautiful copper orange and I would have not had hurt feelings if I was told that they couldn't match it, but I was assured that they could. Well it didn't match and the only remedy I was offered was to double down what I had paid to blend it. I would have preferred it be done right the first time. read more

I had a fender bender in my 2007 Camry and was out of pocket because I did not carry collision. I took it into Wayne's after seeing many positive reviews. They looked it over as soon as I came in and gave me an estimate based on what they could see without tearing it down. I came in on a Friday and they said they could take me Monday and have it out Wednesday. They called me first thing Monday with a couple more minor things that would need to be replaced. Still the total would be under what I had decided was my high end for fixing it. I picked it up after they called me Wednesday morning to say it was ready. It looked amazing! Better than before my accident. One light had to be replaced and then they noticed the other looked foggy so they polished it and touched up rock chips in the paint on the hood. They clearly take great pride in the work they do. I could not be happier. They are efficient, timely and seem to be a great team! I will recommed them to anyone. read more

Let me start by saying that Wayne went way above and beyond when he fixed my car. Specifically, there were two things he did. 1. He reduced my deductible by 50%. My car was vandalized, so I was not at fault and he knew it and he wanted me to incur as little cost as possible. 2. He painted my front bumper FOR FREE. My front bumper was not involved in the vandalism. It had just peeled over time and looked bad. He said, "You know, since I have the paint already, I'll just take care of this for you on the house." He did not have to do any of those things. He wanted to help me. He saved me money and he made my car look better by fixing the front bumper on his own dime. I have a pearl white paint job and matching that is very difficult because his paint person had to spend a lot of time to match it. In addition, he was constantly in communication with me, always returned my calls promptly, finished the work at the time he said it would be done and was very friendly. In short, his professionalism and customer service was outstanding. Finally, I have been taken advantage of by unscrupulous mechanics and body repair people in the past, so it's nice to know and very comforting that there are honest people who do what they say they'll do and go the extra mile for you. I won't hesitate to return to Wayne's Automotive should the need arise. read more

Honest, thorough, and courteous, and reasonably priced as well. I would recommend these folks to anyone.

First, let me start by saying having to give a one star is way far more than Wayne's auto repair deserves. I first went to Big O tire shop on Menaul with a noise in the front end of my 2002 Ford Explorer. Big O said they thought it was a bearing leading from the transfer case and it was a problem they are not able or equipped to do. They are the ones that recommended me to go to Wayne's. Went to Wayne's and described the problem to them and told them what I had been told at Big O. They pulled my Explorer into there shop and after a few minutes came out and said they felt the problem was to do with the power steering. They talked me into a power steering flush ($89.95), power steering condition ($17.96), fuel injection service ($124.95), and a air filter ($15.98). A total of $266.73. As I figured, none of the above took care of any of the problem.. After the above service they took it out for another test ride. After coming back, I was told the problem still exists and my transmission did not have a second gear, that it would be needing a transmission replacement. The estimate was, remove and install transmission $$772.00. Transmission rebuild $2,450.00. Transmission fluid $120.00. A total of $3,342.00 plus tax. Took the estimate with me and told them I would have to think about it. The next day I took my Explorer to Tranco on Eubank, and explained to them the problem once again and what I had found out from Wayne's and the work I had done at there shop. Tranco spent two and a half hours checking my vehicle out and running it through a 21 point transmission check. After going through there inspection, the first finding was there was no problem with the transmission at all. Had no idea what they could of been talking about saying I had no second gear. They did tighten a shaft leading from the transfer case. Tranco did not charge me for any of the above service or check, and I was told if I had any other concerns to please bring it back. Left there shop happy and my Explorer has been running great. And to think I almost got taken for over $3,300.00 in repairs. Further more, Wayne's offers a one year, 12,000 mile warranty. If I would of needed a transmission, Tranco has a warranty of three years or 50,000 miles. In short, be cautious when taking your vehicle to Wayne's for repair. I am serious when I say I would not even let them repair a flat tire for me. I do hope this review helps someone.. read more

I came here to get my rotors checked because my vehicle would shake while braking. I doubted that they would find the problem because I had taken it to 2 other shops and no one could tell me why this was happening. To my surprise, Wayne's took the time to properly diagnose my problem with warped rotors. Instead of pushing new ones on me, they gave me the option of machining them with the intention of straightening them out and if that didn't work, then we can plan on replacing them. Once machined, I had them install new brakes as well. They offered to shuttle me anyplace I wanted to go while I waited, but I chose to stay and watch. The price was surprisingly low and my shaking problem was no more. I highly recommend Wayne's if your looking for an honest and reliable mechanic shop. read more

I took my Ferrari F355 to Wayne's Automotive for some paint work, including some very light damage to the rear fender (including a crack where the buttress meets the fender) and a front-end respray. Wayne's was recommended to me by a well-respected Ferrari mechanic, and they were painting a Ferrari 328 when I dropped my car off, so I was optimistic that they would treat my car carefully. I try not to be a car snob (I am a lucky enthusiast, not a rich collector), but I also try to treat my Ferrari with more care than I would treat my old Subaru. Wayne's is a fairly small operation, but the people seemed friendly and caring, and they arranged to store my car indoors. The work took quite a few weeks, which I had no problem with since I'd rather have the work done right than fast. When I came to pick up the car, although the paint color matched pretty well, there were some issues. For example: there were numerous places where the new paint appeared to have been chipped and then touched up; there was some orange peel on some of the horizontal surfaces; there were many deep swirl marks; and the primer was visible through the red paint at the buttress crack. These are issues I would associate with typical sloppy New Mexico work, and so on another car I might not have complained, but I had made it clear when I dropped off the car that I was hoping for good quality work. It was awkward complaining about these things and asking for them to be fixed because the people (Leonard and Lisa) were so nice. Wayne claimed that the swirls were normal and should be treated with wax. In addition to the issues with the paint, the interior of the car had sustained some damage - the leather had shrunk and come unglued around the airbag. Unfortunately, this is an issue with many Ferraris, but it had never happened to me because I treat my car very carefully: when it's in my garage it never gets very hot (although my garage isn't air conditioned), and when I have to leave the car in the sun, I protect the leather dash with a sun visor. This damage was evidence that the car had not been treated with the same level of care. The degree to which Wayne's is responsible for this damage may be debateable, but when I asked Wayne to help me get the damage repaired, sharing the cost, he refused without any further discussion. He got quite belligerent to the point where I was nervous about leaving my car with him. But, after removing the damaged part, I did leave the car with him so they could fix all the issues with the paint. I immediately took the damaged part to a place called Gotcha Covered, who are a fantastic upholstery shop in Albuquerque. They stretched and re-glued the leather in about 10 mins for me for no charge...and on a Friday afternoon! I will absolutely be taking future upholstery needs to them. This is the kind of customer service missing from so many local businesses, including Wayne's. It's such a shame that Wayne wouldn't even discuss helping me fix the damage since it turned out to be so trivial to a skilled craftsman. Imagine how satisfied a customer I would have been! Even if Wayne shared no responsibility for the damage, it would have showed his willingness to go above-and-beyond, which would have looked great on this review. I was out of town when the car was ready, so my wife picked it up. I told her to just pay and bring the car home, no matter what issues remained, because I was so worried about leaving the car there. The swirls were much less noticeable this time, demonstrating that Wayne's original explanation that they were 'normal' was intentionally deceiving. The issue with the primer showing through appears to have been resolved, but there are a few places where the paint was not properly buffed. I'll either correct this myself or take it to someone else. So to summarize, Wayne's did some rather average paint work for me, tried to deceive me about how 'normal' the swirl marks were, and missed a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate outstanding customer service. Basically, exactly what you'd expect from a mechanic shop in New Mexico. Unfortunately. Edit: After finally having time to take my car for a drive I noticed: 1) orange peel in a very visible location, 2) an area of dull paint that obviously didn't get buffed, 3) some of the fasteners used in the front trunk lining are incorrect and some are missing, 4) the radio no longer works. read more

My Suburban is now at 320,000 miles. If that doesn't speak highly of Wayne and his team than I don't know what does. He does my oil changes, my maintenance, my tune ups, and all of my repair work. I've been taking my car to Wayne's for more than four years, and have ALWAYS been treated with respect and courtesy. When my mother could no longer drive her car, Wayne's helped me find a good buyer. My first real experience with Wayne, and how committed he is to taking care of people's cars, was when a girlfriend of mine had bought a car that had a LOT of problems, and she wanted to know it would be safe to drive when she moved to Michigan. It wasn't safe - but Wayne worked with her to find the absolutely most cost-effective repairs to do so that she not only drove that car to Michigan, but continued to drive it for years after. It took me a long time, and some very unpleasant experiences at other repair shops, to find someone that I completely count on to take care of my car needs! In June of 2015, I had air conditioning repaired. Mechanic also said hoses/thermostat required replacing but I declined. When I took car to my Honda certified mechanic in Santa Fe, he replaced the thermostat because there was none in my car! This mechanic may have removed it and not replaced when I declined this part of the job. They did get the car running and on the road, but my Honda mechanic stated there was still a leak in the freon system and had to fix that, they had done "sloppy work," - rotated wires he had to fix, and Wayne's charged me twice the "book" price on the work they did. They replaced a compressor that my Honda mechanic stated was fine, when I returned the part to him to get the warranty refund. My conclusion is that they will "push" for work that may not be necessary, perhaps diagnostics are not accurate, and way overcharge. I would do whatever I can to avoid this shop in the future. The diagnostics on the compressor is not clear - the car "behaved" as though the compressor may have failed, but I do trust Oldrich of Santa Fe when he stated the compressor was "fine" and he could not get the warranty refund if he tried. (I had the compressor replaced in October of 2014 so the warranty should have held, had the compressor been defective.) It would have been a better decision and actually saved money had I decided to have car towed all the way from Albuquerque to Santa Fe to my personal, certified Honda mechanic. read more

I took my Toyota to Wayne's because the check engine light came on. I had been there before and was happy with them. They called and said it was just a bad gas cap. I told them to fix it. So I go to pick it up and the bill is $142 plus tax. What? I asked that they explain the bill. They said it was $120 to put the meter on the car and read the check engine code and $22 for the gas cap. I tried to bargain with them. I said it took you one minute to put the meter on the car maybe two at the most. Why $120? They explained that $120 was for an hour of diagnostic. Look I said, I can go down to AutoZone and they will put a meter on it for free. I will give you $20 for the two minutes the meter was on it. I can get a gas cap for $10 at AutoZone but I understand you all have to make a profit so $22 is okay. They would not budge. I reminded them I was a repeat customer and that it had taken them a total of three minutes to fix the car. Two minutes to hook up the meter and one minute to screw in a new gas cap. I found it dishonest to charge an hour of diagnostic and will never go there again. read more

In mid-October, my truck wouldn't start and I had it towed to Wayne's. He'd done work on it in the past and always seemed fair and good. The truck was looked over and I was given an estimate for numerous items that needed attention. Service was prompt and seemed alright on the surface. The truck was not leaking oil prior to being serviced in October. Since then, I have a huge oil stain on my garage floor, and even smelled burning oil while driving about a week after having the services done... $520 later. Today I returned to have it checked out. I'm now being told the valve cover gaskets are leaking, and the transfer case is leaking heavily. They were unable to provide me an estimate while there, instead telling me I need to return another time to have an accurate estimate done (across town, mind you). I'm not clearly understanding the attempted explanation as to why this wasn't occurring before they performed the work and oil change, and/or why it wasn't noticed when they did diagnostics on the truck to begin with. Bottom line, I no longer feel they stand behind their work and truly feel like I'm being taken advantage of... seems they just want MORE money! I will not be returning to Wayne's ever, and I don't recommend them to anyone else at this point! read more
