Stopped in for a beer, a snack and to catch some NFL scores, the restaurant wait was more than 40 mins so we grabbed a few seats at the bar - it's Sunday so the place was pretty filled being its mid day and everyone is here to watch football. It was a little loud in the bar area and somewhat festive there are a number of televisions scattered about but honestly there isn't a good seat in the house to watch the games unless you're sitting on one of the stools in the bathroom it piped in there too. This placed has been here since 1959 and it definitely shows it, some may say it's nostalgic but I'd say they are a little past due for some renovations. It's a little cluttered and you may step on some food on the floor, but my girl was quick to point out the bar had purse hooks and I'll add in that the beer is really ice cold, what more could you want? We were looking to cure the munchies since we spent most of the day on the beach so this dimly lit venue was welcoming. The staff were all friendly and accommodating and this "Flanigan" fellow has his mugshot plastered all over this joint I don't know if this guy is still around but his memories certainly are. The menu is extensive and although the rib meat egg roll intrigued me we decided to try a few appetizers instead of experimenting with entrées - the tumbleweed onions were pretty special I'd recommend them and I'd order them again if I come back, the garlic rolls were more than less impressive - fresh from a store bought package and served intact in groups of six (stale, served cold and greasy oh geez I mean buttery I think with some chopped garlic likely from a jar) disappointing to say the least. I only have three words for these "don't do it". Our bartender was excellent and covered the entire bar area like a magician, I tipped her well I hope the locals did too. This location has really gone downhill or we got the B-Team tonight. Two prime rib dinners were terrible. They were thin and either the knives weren't sharp enough or the cut of meat was just bad. Our kids burgers were dry and the French fries were stale. They did take off a dinner which was nice , but no real apology from the Manager. We've been going to this location for years and the food has been great. Not sure what happened.
