To whom it may concern, myself and four friends come to this Flanigans quite frequently. Tonight we were "greeted " by a young ish lady named "Steph ", her attitude made us feel like it was our fault that she had to take care of us and was completely unwelcoming. We had to pull her teeth to get her to bring us waters to the table and also to take our order. Most of our interactions were nippy comments by Steph and, making us feel like we were asking too much of her, followed with eye rolls. So we called over the manager, Alejandro, which he told us. It was very abnormal for Steph to have any attitude and that he will talk to her, after that one interaction with Alejandro, we never saw him again and it got worse with our server. After clearly reading the room and realizing that we weren't welcome there we asked for our check. We gave the server cash to which she returned us our change in one dollar bills.... 149$ in singles.... If they didn't have the proper resources to give us our change we would've changed our payment .... No one told us they only had one dollar bills. On the way out we tried to find someone to help us because we couldn't even count it up at that moment and Alejandro simply said, "that's all we have" and walked away.... Had they said we only have singles like I said above we would've changed payment. This was a horrible experience and we will never go again. read more

I had passed by here many times but never stopped as I was put off by the owners picture on the sign; I figured he must like himself a lot. Then our friend treated us to lunch there. As a walker user, she qualifies for handicapped parking. The first thing I noticed were the benches, posts and curb between the handicapped parking and the restaurant. It was also a narrow squeeze between these obstacles. Fortunately, my friend uses a narrower three-wheeled walker as a more traditional one would not have fit. For wheelchair users, there are curbcuts at the ends of the porch. Our server, Kevin, was attentive and of good humor. The DH had the clam chowder which he enjoyed. Our friend told us that Flanigan's has the best burgers in town so that's what she had. She also raved about their baked potato and curly fries. On this day they had French dip, AKA prime rib sandwiches which was what I ordered. It was wonderful! For my side, I had black beans and rice which was pretty abysmal. The rice was underdone. The beans were dry and tasteless. I think they cooked up some Minute Rice and topped it with a can of drained and rinsed black beans along with a little diced onion. Good evening I visited your location in Pompano Beach and as soon as I sat at the bar. I was told not to be served and I didn't know for what reason. When I arrived home this evening I called the bar to try and confirm why and the manager told me that he was just exercising his right to refuse service but I feel that it was an abuse of right and or power and blatant discrimination to poor innocent customers who never broke any rules.His name was James and then he just hung up the phone. Flanigan's is a Bar that's directly across the street from Deerfield Park beach, so the ambience is tiki bar beach vibes and I love it. They have beautiful outdoor seating under shade but it was much too hot for my blood in Florida to eat outside after being baked in the sun on the beach. The bar area is excellent and cozy and made me want to grab a few cold ones and watch the preseason football games, but I was with my family so I had to behave and entertain them too! The wait staff was attentive and service was fast, almost too fast! I ordered a cheeseburger that came with curly fries, a welcome surprise since the menu just said fries! I asked for medium rare and this burger was huge, juicy, and actually cooked perfectly. This goes a long way with someone who's been ordering medium and medium rare burgers expecting them to cook it well done, which is a sacrilege to the cow that died for the meal! My wife ordered a special baby back ribs and half a roasted chicken knowing full well she was going to take most of it to go! I stole a rib from my wife and the ribs were fantastic and sauced up with deli style BBQ sauce, which I personally love. They have a bottle of the BBQ sauce on the table and that's usually a great sign for me since I don't have to ask for it on the side for the fries. The restaurant staff was super friendly and I highly recommend this spot for anyone hungry in the local area that wants to smash their appetite with a hammer. I've been going here for 27 years. I will continue to go back but I am going to explore other locations even though this is the closest one to me. Every single time I have been here over the last year, the service has been so bad that I have either walked out after not being greeted by a server for over 10 minutes or I have had to physically go find my server with 20-30 gaps in time of them not checking to see if I need another drink. It does not matter if it's busy or if it's dead but this happens to me every single time I come here. I'm fed up. I was here for 2.5 hours the other night bc it took that long to get 3 beers. I should have been served the 3 beers within 30 minutes at a normal paced restaurant where the staff is actually attentive to their tables and section. It doesn't matter what time of day it is either I have tried everything and I am at my wits end. I had to ask for my server 3 times and I was extra patient as I was sitting with an empty glass for literally 20-30 mins between each beer. The bar was full or I would have sat there I am a party of 1 and I believe this is why I am being treated so poorly and overlooked constantly every time I step foot in this establishment. read more

Looking at the beer menu I see it was typical chain menu with no craft beer except for one local IPA from Barrel of Monkeys in Boca. I chose a Sam Adams lager and drank most of it but just didn't taste right. I never drink them anymore anyways so figured it's me. Guy next to me ordered a Philly steak and indeed it looked good so that's what I got. Lots of side options and I selected sweet potato fries with cinnamon and sugar. The steak was pretty tasteless but edible with ketchup, the fries were flat out cold even at 1 pm. Not being a dick and my hunger basically satisfied I didn't complain. Few guys came in and asked me if I would move over and offered a beer bribe, but of course I said. Tried the IPA in a bottle as draft was out. It rates 3.7 on Beer Advisor so as expected it sucked. Asked for bill at halftime as the place was dead and I was done with it. 26 Degree Brewery right next door where I know I would find a good beer. The bill came and the bartender who witnessed the request did not honor the beer the guy bought me. Had to complain, he mumbled but did take it off the bill. My husband and i went to this location to try it out, we usually go to Deerfield beach but decided on a change. he had the ribs which were excellent, very juicy I ate 2 of them. I ordered the wings. I love Flannigans wings, they are so big and juicy.
