Let me start with WOW! I love this place. We saw it as we were driving up and down A1A looking for a place to eat. They have convenient free parking. We sat at the bar and I had Shepherd's Pie and my wife had a grilled chicken sandwich. She said her sandwich was very good. My Shepherd's pie as also tasty. Just be aware that the Shepherd's Pie was covered in brown gravy. That was not what I expected but it was good. The bar tender - Michael - was very attentive, and he told us that most of the staff has been there for years. I can understand that because of the feeling of family and coorporation they all had. Lori Ann was a wonderful waitress who was attentive, friendly and accommodating. We were a party of 6 and after waiting a short time was able to move two tables together for our dinner. Most of us had the Prime Rib dinner and to my surprise Lori Ann was able to give us two end cuts which was delicious. This was my first visit to Briny Irish Pub, and it definitely won't be my last. A group of us went for dinner a few days ago, and the dining room was packed, so we chose to sit outside instead. It turned out to be the perfect choice. Even though it was a warm evening, the ocean breeze made it comfortable. I ordered the grilled chicken breast platter, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy, perfectly grilled, and seasoned just right. The vegetables were also delicious, with a nice garlic flavor that complemented the chicken. The highlight were the chicken wings. When they first arrived, I asked our server, Julianna (or Giuliana - I apologize if I'm spelling her name incorrectly), if they could be made a little crispier. She couldn't have been nicer about it and happily took them back to the kitchen. When they came back out, they were exactly what we were hoping for - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. They were so good that we wished we had ordered another batch. Great food, friendly and attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere made for a wonderful dining experience. Cider on tap, what a find! friendly service is offered, aswell as a very nice rustic Irish themed atmosphere. We enjoyed our time here. We did not sample their food, but we did peruse their menu. The food fayre looked good and inviting. We noticed they do a lunch special for 10 dollars for fish and chips (one piece of fish). Holy crap this place gets BUSY on a Friday night. We got lucky and found seats at the bar, but only because our timing was impeccable. There were four bartenders taking care of hundreds of people in a cramped space. Despite that, they kept the drinks coming and people happy. The bartenders were focused on taking care of people, versus socializing, and some people misinterpreted that as being rude or unfriendly. I was not put off by it. We'll definitely pop back in next time we are in the area. read more

Briny Irish Pub is the quintessential nautical themed locals dive bar. It has the dead fish plaques, a ship's steering wheel, the glass buoys, ropes, nets, and the portrait of some scurvy old sea dog in the wall. It's a masterpiece! But wait, there's more! They have a great selection of food and drink. I ordered a pint of Harp, and a chicken burger. My bartender served my beer right away and its cold, clear, goodness was the perfect thirst quencher for a hot muggy afternoon. My burger arrived shortly afterward and it was a delight. It had a large piece of moist, tender, chicken breast that was smothered in cheddar cheese. It was sandwiched between a fluffy bun and some fresh crisp produce. The fries were hot, crispy, had a nice color to them. They gave me a generous serving of ranch for dipping. Yum! For entertainment, a construction worker with a thick east coast accent, on the other side of the bar went on an angry rant about electric cars. It almost sounded like he was ready to run them all off the road with his pickup. It was classic. They couldn't have written a better script for that scene in Hollywood. After stuffing my face, and enjoying some local color, I slipped off my barstool and waddled back to my car. As I drove off, I considered myself lucky to have stumbled across this South Florida gem. Two of the servers were perfect! A server named Sunday was soooo rude!! She would look at us and not serve us but if someone came next to us she was right there... We spend 3 months a year in pompano and are in here all the time. Her rudeness was inexcusable and find a different job!!!!! read more

My boyfriend and I had a great time when we ate there at 3 o'clock in the afternoon ordering a wonderful meal and drinks with great service. However, my boyfriend left his phone on the bar and so we went back to try to find it around 630 pm. Two weeks later a ticket from a company called professional property management sent us a bill for $90 for staying a total of 30 minutes. What was most appalling was when I called the city of Pompano Beach, I found out that Brinys actually employs this company to monitor its parking lot and the city tried to shut this private parking ticket down. My advice is to choose parking from only city parking lots, even if you choose to go to Briny's. The management at Briny's were very responsive and helped us out with the ticket. I have respect for businesses that have been here since long since my father started his business in South Florida in 1958. Now THIS is my kind of place! It's a Dive bar with a capital D with some friendly bartenders and a clientele that I bet has been coming here for years. Briny's was our last stop of the night, but it might have been my favorite. The decor is over the top nautical and the drinks are about half of what you might pay in other parts of Pompano and definitely cheaper than Fort Lauderdale prices. And on the night I was there, there was even live music! We grabbed the only two available seats at the bar and immediately people started talking to us, just as if we had been coming there for years. I am going to have to come back to taste the food as the burger next to me looked pretty darn good (and they had tater tots which are always my favorite! ) This is pretty much old school Florida all the way around and worth a stop in! Although I pass it every morning for the last three years, I've never been there. I'm sure it's a different experience at night, but I visited on a warm sunny day and sat outside. My buddy ordered a bacon burger with fries and I ordered a garden salad with a bowl of chili. My salad was pretty simple and the waitress forgot the salad dressing for most of the time we were having lunch. My buddies burger was good. According to his report,he enjoyed it. this is on Atlantic on the corner of Ocean by the entrance to the beach. On Atlantic Avenue. There are many interesting little restaurants and if burgers are not your style just walk down the street and pick a restaurant you prefer. I love Briney too ... except for the parking issue. I went there 11/14/24 and registered my plate (you're supposed to get 4 hours free parking) and had their awesome $10 lunch special with some friends, then left. Today I got a notice from "Professional Parking Management" demanding $125 for parking there for 1 hour and 4 minutes. They say it can be "disputed", but it's a pain nevertheless! We came here mid week and got to sample a couple of their lunch specials. This pub has been here forever -- at least in Florida terms. I remember trying to come here many years back and leaving because it was packed and extra smoky. It's changed somewhat over the years -- much less rowdy and certainly non smoking inside these days -- especially during the week mid day. We had good service sitting at the bar. They have a decent number of lunch specials -- and some others at night featured on their blackboards. They have quite a few beers, local and imported, but he went with a traditional harps. I chose their crock of shepherds pie. It came with one side and I opted for salad. The side salad was huge with all sorts of veggies. The crock was mashed potatoes on top of ground beef and peas. It was a bit dry so I requested some extra brown gravy which made it much better. He had their bangers and mash. Some fat sausages (like hot dogs) along with mashed potatoes. The food was filling and decent, but not epic. The prices were very reasonable. It was a nice way to take a break from the Florida sun. And good if you're at the beach and looking for an inexpensive and casual meal. read more
