We were going to sit outside, but it smelt like a little like sulfur so we went inside big inside big bar old school wooden bar wooden floors. Great ceilings sat at the bar. We both ordered an iced tea one sweet and we both ordered the fish and chips large portion came with a ramekin of coleslaw and a ramekin of peas. The only thing for me was my french fries were a little mushy because they put the fried fish on top which was not greasy at all piece was really big . The fish was haddock . Large big parking lot

We got some really good fish & chips for a Monday night. Also the drinks kept flowing. The Brussels sprouts were really good too. It was great vibes!!

Hardcore Irish bar in east Fort Lauderdale. The bartender Nicolette gave us a quick rundown of the menu since the lights are dim and I'm almost blind. Beautiful dark hardwood bar with a mountain of liquor bottles and a Toucan as the centerpiece really added to the No Nonsense theme of the pub. The fish dip with the homemade triangular chips was outstanding and the fresh cut seasoned French fries were insane with two dipping sauces which included curry and a secret homemade brown gravy. Watched college footaball while eating and sipping my happy hour priced 20oz craft beer. The bathroom was modern but still had that warm cherry wood finishes affixed to the drift wood style flooring, which continued that strong Irish ambiance.

Ft. Lauderdale~We were actually on our way to Thai food and saw this place! Decided to pull over and eat here instead! Such a FANTASTIC divey lil pub. Our waitress, DENISE, was outstanding. She could not have been more personable. I'd go back just so she could wait on us, and I could have another conversation with her. The old fashioned cocktail was great. The chicken pot pie, and the fish and chips were absolutely delicious. Definitely a cool place to hang out and have a drink with friends.

Our servers were great, they did everything possible to make our visit enjoyable. We tried three dishes, all were good, but nothing had had a wow factor. So, no complaints, but no praise either...until the desert! The bread pudding was beautiful. My wife was so pleased, she ordered one to go. I was not pleased with the patio experience...tables and chairs were not meant to go together. Tables are too low, chairs are too high. We did find one that was usable. It was, however, sticky and cluttered. It was taken care of by our servers, so I can not be too upset. We will return and take an inside seating next time...I will update my review at that time.

Tried Waxy's Pub for the first time and I am glad. It's an old building and not too exciting on the outside but the dark inside with the large tv monitors on the walls above the wood bar and wood tables made me feel like I was in a true Irish pub. The curry dip for the French fries was top notch. The roasted pita chips were made fresh for my fish dip platter. Lychee Martini was very strong and only $7 during happy hour.

Veggie burger and fries.

Food was great loved the fries. I had a veggie burger. Very good. Prompt friendly service. Lots of soccer on TV's with a lively crowd. The only thing that keeps it from a five star review is charging me to use my debit card. Bad business practice and it's better for them not to have cash either. Very short sighted.

Shepherds pie. Delicious!

This is our second time eating there. We ordered a shepherds pie and a lychee martini. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and kind. The restaurant is family friendly and the place was full. Even though it was busy we had our food fairly fast. We will definitely return. Keep up the good work!

My husband and I went here for date night on a Friday. It was pretty crowded. We chose to sit outside due to the nice weather. They do allow dogs outside. The table we sat at was a little uncomfortable since the chairs were the same height as the table. Service was a little slow. My husband ordered a German beer and fish and chips. I ordered a pepperoni pizza. We split a side salad and mozzarella sticks. Everything tasted great! We do recommend but will sit inside next time!

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, and we were seated immediately. Large, comfortable booths, classic pub decor and design, and good music. Our host was great and was very attentive! Huge portions of food - we ordered the Reuben and the Fish & Chips! Very good food. Indoor and outdoor seating; surface parking available.

When we first pulled up, the parking lot was nearly empty, and inside there were only a few people scattered around. My companion went straight to the restroom, so I found a seat at the bar. The first thing we were told was that the kitchen was already closed even though it was only 9 PM which was a bit disappointing since I was hungry. Since it's an Irish pub, they mainly serve beer and wine, so I ordered a Guinness followed by a light beer. Despite the slow start, the night turned out to be unexpectedly enjoyable. We ended up meeting some wonderful people from Italy, Poland, and Turkey. It was especially nice connecting with the gentleman from Turkey, as I had traveled there last year, and we had a great conversation about that experience. The same went for the gentleman from Italy. It was refreshing and easy to talk to everyone. Even after closing, we stayed outside for a while continuing our conversations. The atmosphere inside the pub had a classic Irish feel, very reminiscent of my time in Ireland years ago, with signed celebrity photos decorating the walls adding to its charm. Also money from various countries. The lady behind the bar was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the night, constantly checking in and making sure we were taken care of. It's been years since I last visited, but after this experience, I'll definitely be going back soon.

We ate in the back dart room which was a little quieter and had a bunch of groups also grabbing fish. The back room has a lot of history and is a cool area. The staff has you feeling like family with 2 minutes of walking in the place. Great drinks, great service and the food is surprisingly awesome! As is that is not enough they are one of the only spots in SoFlo that was able to Keep The Music Alive during this past challenging year. This is the hot spot for some great touring Blues bands as they pass through Florida. Oh, and I promised to keep this secret but the Wednesday night blues jam has some incredible talent and you never know who might pop in! Looking forward to seeing you there. A spot where I would go…read morewhen I lived in Fort Lauderdale, going to shows at the Culture Room on at least a monthly basis, sometimes two to three times a month. It was a good place to enjoy rounds of vodka or gin & tonics, beers, and other drinks. It does the same thing today, but only with a more spacious dining area due to some remodeling and a staging area that could be used for live music performances, probably also karaoke and trivia night, amongst other events. The only drawback is that the menu has shrunk considerably, and what they have may not be available that day. A handful of years ago, whoever owned it sold it to others who changed the name to the Kelly Brothers Irish Pub and then gave it a structural makeover on the inside. Initially, an o-shaped bar in the middle of the room was taken down and replaced with an i-shaped one on the left-hand side as you enter. Some long high-top tables can accommodate six to eight people, and regular seating can accommodate up to four. Considering the table service had to come directly from the bartenders, the service was good, especially with the crowd, which included those going to Ladytron at the Culture Room that evening. We ordered a handful of gin and tonics while glancing at the food menu, which is more of a narrow flyer that could double as a fat bookmark. Unfortunately, as we discovered, not only was nothing gluten-free available for my wife, but half the menu wasn't even available since the kitchen had run out of the supplies needed to make such chicken fingers and buffalo wings. Most fried food items were unavailable outside of burgers and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese with bacon was okay, but it was better when you dipped it on the side of ketchup since the Swiss cheese was bland (not what I usually have for cheese). The fries were solid. The drink prices were wicked good for what we ordered, so you can get your pre-game on before the show. The service was decent, considering we were seated at the table and depended on the bartenders, so that was solid. Overall, solid, solid, solid.

This review is as much from the locals as it ever was from me…read more I just left this fine establishment and I can tell you that the locals love this place. Today was a Wednesday and there were dozens of people handing drinks, talking it up, and playing pool. We pop in from time to time after playing some ball at the park. Or sometimes just cause I'm thirsty. Regardless, it's always a good time. The clientele is all locals. I don't think a tourist could find Walsh's if they wanted too. Even though you can't miss it sting by on US1. It's townie appeal is unmistakable. No frills , just drinks and banter. It's not a barren place though. It's decorated throughout in an inviting way. I can come a few times where there is families all hanging out so it is a friendly place. Long story short, if you want to grab a drink in a nice townie bar, Walsh's will treat you right.

We're the same way pretty much. But, didn't know she'd be there. But we always run into somebody we know. And just try to stay at a table. And blend in. The TouchTunes music is always good.
