Stopped in a couple of times recently. For the first time in over a year. They improved some things. It looks nicer. More inviting. Still a smokey dive bar. We don't smoke. But, right up our alley. I saw the nasty old biddy SuzyQ still works here. I'm not sure how many people we know who have argued with that woman. And refuse to go if she's working. We're the same way pretty much. But, didn't know she'd be there. But we always run into somebody we know. And just try to stay at a table. And blend in. The TouchTunes music is always good. Pool and darts too. The ventilation could improve. read more

I enjoyed hanging out in Walsh's Pub for years. Until I caught one of the bartenders (named Susan R./ A.k.a. SuzyQ) crossing out my tips on my credit card tab, and writing in a much larger amount. She actually had the nerve to yell at ME when I confronted her about it. And tried to justify her sneaky thievery by telling me "You have a lot of money! You should give me a lot more!" I could have had her arrested. But did not. Out of pity. Because of the fact that she's old, broke, and decrepit. She uses her age and poor health to manipulate others into feeling sorry for her. And unfortunately, some people fall for it. She's what I call a professional 'victim'. Always trying to get others to feel sorry for her. A couple of her coworkers and customers tried attacking ME for exposing her. They didn't realize they had been manipulated by her. So I forgave them. I have the truth on my side. The bottom line is, a lying thief is a lying thief. No matter how old. It's a shame she's allowed to even work around money still. And continues to manipulate some into believing SHE'S the victim. She's had many years to practice and perfect her deceiving craft. My advice... WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD TAB IF SHE'S WORKING! I'd like to add, that I've never had such an issue with anyone else there. And continue to enjoy my time with friends from Walsh's at numerous other nearby establishments. Please note: ONE strategy I became aware of: Waiting until a credit card customer is perceived as being drunk. Then adding some of a cash-paying customer's drinks on that tab. And collecting cash from the other customer to pocket. I still have at least a few dozen or so receipts my bank has been investigating for me. If I could post her full legal name, I would. Along with a Broward County case number. No friends or coworkers can dispute these facts. And justice will soon be served. As she openly admitted on body-cam to Sheriff's officers of some thefts after they told her I wasn't pressing charges. But, I have since changed my mind. As I can legally do, according to the prosecutor. It's very sad there are such envious people out there who think it's ok to steal from those of us fortunate enough to enjoy a nice income. We've been going off and on for a few years. Maybe once every few months. It's pretty much all locals. They have pool tables, darts, nice drink prices. Just be vigilante about your tab if you're there when this older woman who calls herself "SuzyQ" is there! The bar itself is fine. It's just that one bartender. We pay as we go if she happens to be there. Otherwise, a decent little dive bar for us locals who don't feel like going to the boardwalk. Or up to Ft Lauderdale. And certainly not that nasty little bar across the street called Arties 'sportsman's lounge' read more

This review is as much from the locals as it ever was from me. I just left this fine establishment and I can tell you that the locals love this place. Today was a Wednesday and there were dozens of people handing drinks, talking it up, and playing pool. We pop in from time to time after playing some ball at the park. Or sometimes just cause I'm thirsty. Regardless, it's always a good time. The clientele is all locals. I don't think a tourist could find Walsh's if they wanted too. Even though you can't miss it sting by on US1. It's townie appeal is unmistakable. No frills , just drinks and banter. It's not a barren place though. It's decorated throughout in an inviting way. I can come a few times where there is families all hanging out so it is a friendly place. Long story short, if you want to grab a drink in a nice townie bar, Walsh's will treat you right. read more

As a Regular, I was extremely disappointed to hear that Susie, a bartender that was there for 20 years, was terminated. From what I heard from other patrons, it was because she "couldn't cut the mustard" and because one customer in particular complained about her! From my experience, Susie was always personable and responsive, and I rarely sat with an empty glass in front of me, which put her a cut above most other bartenders there. What's more, she was considerate to the point that she would routinely spend her own money to provide snacks, something the Owners fail to provide, even for purchase!! As for the complaining customer, she routinely talked down to Susie, and is most annoying! The bar would have been much better off had Susie stayed and this individual been permanently banned!! While I do like the atmosphere of the bar, I will clearly spend more time at the three taverns just a stone throws away as Susie deserved better! read more

As far as S. Florida dives go, Walsh's is one of my faves. Just like many of the best dives, it's a non-descript space in a non-descript building off Federal Highway. It's nothing fancy, but it's not really grimy, either, as it's fairly bright and spacious inside with high ceilings. I stumbled onto Walsh's by complete accident, and was I ever rewarded. Inside you have TVs, a jukebox, a couple of arcade machines, one of those bar-top video game thingys, and a pool table - fairly typical setup. But one thing they have that most other places don't have - ping pong. Getting drunk and playing ping pong with friends is super fun and I don't know why more places don't have ping pong tables. The place has very friendly regulars and I can't say enough about how great the staff is - really friendly and willing to go the extra mile. About the only drawback I'd say would be that it's not exactly as cheap as you would expect a dive to be. The prices are reasonable in the grand scheme of the S. Florida bar scene ($4-5 beers), but a little high for a dive that's a little out of the way. read more

dive dive dive! Great BIG dive bar. If you are looking for a not-stuffy bar, smoke friendly, and strong drinks this is the place. Very chill place with that mom and pop small town feeling. They have weekly events as well if you're interested in that. This is not a bar to come pick up people - it's just for hanging out and drinking. Walsh's is mostly made up of to their regular locals, which is great for me! The clientele tends to be on the older side (40+) for the most part and everyone seems to know each other but no one makes you feel like an outsider. The location is perfect, right on Biscayne Blvd. Parking is ample in the back. Their drinks are SUPER CHEAP and they are generous. I had a few tom collins and they were fire - she poured a lot of liquor in there and I think it was like $4 or $5. Come for the drinks - stay to relax and get to know other locals! read more

In terms of Dive Bars, this is a safer place for those timid of heart how don't have the intestinal fortitude to venture into Artie's Sportsmen's Lounge across the street. It is friendly, clean and a solid place to meet locals in Hollywood. Drink prices are cheap and the bar staff are friendly. The only issue that I have with the place is the "Irish Pub" aspect. When I think of an Irish Pub, I think of something that is reminiscent of the Emerald Isle- dimly lit, old wood, "Sliante" somewhere. The bar fails on this count. It has a cheap drop ceiliing and fluorescent lights that you could find in any cublicle farm. Irish it isn't, aside from the name Walsh (who is really a great lady!) Definitely stop by if in the neighborhood. read more

I was introduced to Walsh's by a good lady friend and fell in love with the place. The staff and owners are thoughtful, personable, and treat you like family. By the time I had been there a few times, They all knew my name and drink preference. I've made some great friends there as well. I just can't say enough about it. read more

This is your typical Irish Pub. They are open every day from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Lots of tv's, a pool table and they only place I know of that has a ping pong table. They do not sell food, but usually put out homemade food that you can have by donation and is usually better that typical bar food. Staff is friendly and they often have live music. read more

One of the best dive bars in Hollywood! My friend and I were checking out bars we've never been to and I found this bar so we decided to check it out. The second you walk into Walsh's you feel like your home. There is no better place to start and end your trip to Florida than Walsh's Irish Pub. The owners are the best people you will ever get to know and thier staff is very friendly and fantastic people to talk to. Lots of things to see and do. A "Feel right at Home" kind of pub. Great local bar. I drove by this bar for many years and last Friday night, I decided to stop in. I'm so glad that I did. It's homie, simple and Irish. The bartenders are nice, not over the top and a good time is had by all that want to have a good time. read more

I really like the place, although i went there last night (SUNDAY) and was a little put off. It was my 3rd time visiting this place and I only returned because of the fact that I had enjoyed myself the previous 2 times I went there. Upon my latest visit, which started out well, I decided to play $5.00 in the jukebox. As you know in this day and age this doesn't allow you to play a whole lot of songs. I was not in the best of moods and certain music helps me to relax. I was basically told that the regulars don't like my music and that we needed to mix it up a bit or she was going to skip my songs. I was a little off put because the bartender was the only person I heard complaining about the music. everyone else was more interested in their drinks. I felt like I was all but told that since I am not a regular that my taste in music doesn't count. Having been a bartender for 23 years, I was always of mind that the customers that are paying for said "music" are allowed to play it. If it isn't allowed it shouldn't be on the jukebox. I will most certainly be going back because of the previous good times that I have had there, but it will not be on a SUNDAY or a WEDNESDAY night. read more
