PUB CRAWL 5th stop... This bar reminded me of an old college lounge bar with a full liquor bar and beers on tap or bottles - but No Happy Hour here. The outside front patio was decent with wooden tables and chairs. The bartender was straight forward and professional but far from a firecracker personality. On weekend nights they have a live DJ playing tunes from a booth 10pm - 2am. They had a really cool backyard play area with that green astro turf, tons of chairs and tables with plenty of games for fun. I could see this area being a blast when busy. In addition, they had at the front of the bar stand up retro arcade games - Street Fighter II, Donkey Kong and Ms Pac -Man. You can't really go wrong here. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere, decent drink selection, competent service, plenty of games and entertainment to keep you occupied, a reasonable bar food menu, etc. My friend and I did find the sound level a bit too high indoors for comfortable conversation, though, so we ended up sitting on one of the tables facing the street. I'd like to return for karaoke (on Mondays, I believe). I hear it draws a crowd. read more

Happy New Year!!! Welcome to my first review of the year. Every time I go to the Social Room, it gets better and better. I love all the options. It's tough to decide between the outdoor backyard patio, with larger than life sized Jenga and Connect Four, and the intimate and seductive ambiance of the interior lounge/dancefloor. Social is the type of place you can come early, stay late, and never get bored. The bartenders and their signature cocktails are outstanding. The Old Fashioned always hits the spot. I haven't eaten here yet, but if the vibes are any indication, the food should be spectacular. My fondness for places where you can chill for a bit, but has such good music that you can strut your stuff if you feel like it, is well satiated at the Social Room. This was not my first time here, but I can assure you, this is a place I will recommend to anyone looking to have a range of experiences that all equal a good time. read more

Local bar/lounge off of Harrison Street in Hollywood just west of youngs circle. Dropped in to meet up with out of towners that were here for the holidays. Barcstaff is friendly and fast. They also have seating out side in the from as well as on a back patio-ish area. They not only serve alcohol but also do a few food options as well. read more

Visited Social Room on a Tuesday night and they had a great special with $3 tacos and $7 tequila drinks. Our group tried a few different drinks, including a smokey tequila old fashioned. We enjoyed them all! I wasn't too crazy about the tacos. I tried chicken, shrimp, and beef. The beef was pretty good, but I'd skip the others next time. Went on a Saturday like around 7 pm to meet up with some friends, it wasn't busy inside, no waiting or crowds to push thru. The service was OK, the food not too great. We ordered cheese + pepperoni pizza, quesadillas (chicken and beef?) + chips/salsa (not good at all). It wasn't very packed which was perfect for a chill night. Went out with my dad for a night outing. I wanted to show my dad around the area that I had just moved to, so we came to this place as one of our stops for the evening. Went to the bar to order a couple drinks and couldn't get one. Everyone around us got drinks served except us. So we left and spent our money elsewhere. Both bartenders would make eye contact with us and keep it moving. What a lame experience to have with your parent for a night outing in a new city. Never going back here again. From reading the reviews, I expected a little bit more out of Social Room. I like a good dive, but the space felt smaller than I anticipated. The outdoor area with games looked fun, but they were all full by the time we got there (not as much space as I thought). The DJ was also playing good dancing music, but there isn't much of a dance floor area. We tried dancing in the empty space, but it was a little awkward because it was lined with tables so people sitting down were just watching you. I did like the little couch areas to relax and play table games like jenga, but overall I'm not sure that I'd come back. Came here for a much needed ladies night and we all loved the ambiance! On Friday nights ladies' drinks are half off which was perfect. The bartender was friendly and made delicious drinks, you have to try the "Game changer" and "super like". There was a dj playing inside the bar area but you can hear the music from outside. I really enjoyed the backyard, very chill setting with lots of games to play with groups. The food was fanatic and well priced, we ordered to share the grilled cheese, tacos and nachos. It started to get packed by 10pm in the backyard but everyone around us was nice. What I loved most was it wasn't too loud that you have issues talking with the people you are with. This place is so cute. It has outdoors benches and table and inside has lounging area and tables. It has a perfect name of Social Room because it's just that. Hubby and I had drinks and was playing Jenga. The back area has an outdoor cozy patio but it was crowded. No one was wearing masks and was so close to each other. Up front area was a less crowded. We didn't order food but I saw others who did and it looks good. The women bathroom was disgusting. I'm very disappointed, I been to this place many many times and gained alot of fun memories here. However, one day I showed up with 4 friends and when I walked through security I was told that I cannot go inside because I'm wearing Michael Kors slides. It doesn't seem like a big deal but me and my friends got dressed and ready to come to this place just to be turned down because I'm wearing all black slides (which btw were 200$, not cheap ones by any means) which matched the color of my socks so you couldn't even tell I wearing them unless you looked directly at my feet. And ironically the girls I were with were also wearing slides and I asked what about my friends? And he said because their girls its okay.. It reminded me of a Wynwood spot, but in Hollywood with games in the back outside patio. Inside was darkly lit with minimal seating. There is a DJ, however on the specific night I went his music selection did not flow. It was all over the place and not in one genre. I guess he played a little music for everyone. I thought it was ladies night from what I read on the yelp reviews however it was only happy hour which ended 30 minutes after we got there. This place at times are a total hit or miss. The inside is very darkly dimmed with a full stocked bar and some indoor seating. The seats inside typically have games you can play such as connect 4 , uno, or additional games. The outside patio is nice has large Jenna you can play too. The food is here is bare minimum options limited not a full stocked kitchen. Food examples are chicken wings, nachos, tacos , NO FRIES (super shocking). The music is also very odd because the dj tends to play in various genres but drags out certain songs more than others. It's super hard to explain you would have to hear it yourself. Parking is hard since it's major construction in downtown Hollywood currently. But right behind the bar is a parking garage with pretty low prices. I would recommend parking there rather than the small 6 car lot next door. read more
