After the Stanley Cup ended and the World Cup second half started -- a tournament our country is hosting -- I asked to switch the sound to the soccer match. Tom refused because he doesn't like soccer and put on random background music instead. Complete disrespect to paying customers and to the country that's hosting the World Cup. People like Tom ruin the reputation of the place. I'll be back with my big, very polite friends from Colombia, Turkey, and Croatia when their teams play. Let's see how Tom reacts then. If he pulls the same stunt, each of them will leave a bad review and ask four of their friends to do the same. Modern methods. See you later, Tom.

[Cross posted from Google]…read more We ordered wings and they came out in about 5-10 minutes. It was dark where we were sitting, so I didn't notice until my last wing that every one of them was pink, slimy, and bloody inside. By then I'd already eaten them all. When we flagged it with the waitress, the owner didn't even come over. He was clearly too busy and important, so he sent her back to tell us we could just leave and not pay. That was it. No concern at all, which is very odd from an owner. We had to ask for him before he finally came over, and when he did, he laughed it off. He said it wasn't a big deal, that it happens, and sarcastically asked if we wanted him to call EMS. Then he kept insisting there was a 0% chance anything would happen to me, and that he'd only be worried if the chicken was contaminated. The chicken was bloody. Undercooked chicken is exactly how people get food poisoning; that's the whole reason it has to be cooked through. No apology, no concern that we might get sick. Just an offer of a free pizza to go. Sweet deal, right? Kitchens make mistakes. Laughing at customers who are scared they just ate undercooked chicken is something else. Whether he was mocking us or just didn't care, it was humiliating to sit there being brushed off while I was worried about getting sick. I went home anxious about food poisoning instead of having a nice night out. Can't recommend. And to the owner: please don't reply with a polished apology about how much you care. You had your chance to show that in person, and you laughed at us instead.

We decided to head out for a rare trip to a dive bar late Saturday afternoon. We haven't really…read moredone a lot of that in the last couple years, but thought it would be fun. So, we checked around and found R Bar. Walking in, it looked like a typical little dive bar that you find in South Florida. It was kind of quiet. There were TVs on playing the games and music videos. They had the happy hour deals going for beer. I don't drink beer very often anymore for health reasons, but occasionally I can get away with it, so this seemed like a good setting to have some. I noticed they had another area sectioned off that had a pool table. It looked like there was room for dancing and other things in the other room. I started taking pics and the manager (Whitney aka Bella) was asking what I was doing, and I told her about Yelp. She was very interested and grabbed her phone and created an account. Next thing we knew, she was taking pictures of the bar. If you are seeing pictures on here now, they are mostly hers. Hubby said he thinks I created another Yelp monster. LOL I saw they had a really cool juke box, which I love. They had every song I searched for...ah the digital age! So I put on some tunes. People were really enjoying the music, and the place started really grooving. It was so much fun! We stayed much later than I had expected, and Bella got pizza, which I appreciated as I really didn't eat that much during the day. When Bella started handing out cuban coffee shots, I thought we better hit the road, as caffeine and I don't do well after the morning. A few notes on this bar. If you're a smoker, you can smoke here. If you're not, they have an excellent fan that clears the smoke out of the room very quickly. If you like places with a friendly neighborhood vibe and great deals on beer, you may want to check out R Bar.

It felt like they were paying attention to the crowd and changing things up based on who was in the room. Everyone was dancing, but it never felt chaotic or overly rowdy. Was so focused on happy hour, I did not realize the location was more of a lounge. It's beautiful inside - very bright, colorful and clean. Lots of tables and seating areas, huge tvs, amazingly crisp sound system. Our server, Karen, was so friendly, welcoming and attentive. She explained happy hour recently started and the crowds really come in around 11pm because the lounge is open until 4am. The happy hour menu here is huge! My group of 3 was able to try several items and drinks from the happy hour menu. Everything was tasty with awesome drinks, especially the Lychee Delight and the BESSSSTTTT Piña Colada I've tasted in years! I will be going back soon for Karen and her piña colada making skills! There is a small parking lot out front but there were no available spaces. There is valet or parking on other nearby lots/streets. Overall, we had a great time hanging out, listening to music and enjoying the vibe. Hope to return for the late-night activities soon.
