The quintessential dive spot with great food, hefty portions, and a non-pretentious atmosphere. Service was decent - fast and attentive. Both the server and the manager thought iw as getting stood up and kept checking on me. The manager was SO RELIEVED and stopped by to say something when my date (my husband lol) finally showed up bc he felt badly for me. Gave me a good laugh! The food was great and reasonably priced. But we had to wait a long time for a table (found out afterwards that we could have been put on the waiting list before we got there). I went there expecting to sit down and relax. Eat by myself, and I did just that. I came in on a weekday when it's not crowded and walked right in. Rather than waiting in line like you usually would have to on a friday saturday or sunday. I ordered a Moscow mule to start with, which was made in an unconventional glass. And I can't say that it was the best, but they do pour heavy and hard. If you're concerned about calories, I would probably choose something else or maybe even a different restaurant than this. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with blue cheese on it. It was extra thick and cooked perfectly. The onion bloom was a big basket of deep fried goodness, and my curly fries were just as curly. The second drink helped me put all the food down that I normally would not be able to put in my stomach completely sober. So yes and again, the bartender's poor heavy. Overall, this is place is...good. For me, this restaurant is somewhere to go if you want to be in a group, just alone by yourself or to watch a sporting event while eating and drinking. When you can find an opportunity to go I highly recommended it read more

What an institution in South Florida! There was a short wait on a Wednesday evening. We all ordered their dinner specials, one had the wings, one had the ribs and I had the prime rib. All the specials come with Cesar salad, Cole slaw, garlic rolls and potato along with a drink. The prices were all less than $20. The Caesar salad was a good size for a side. The baked potatoes come loaded with cheese, bacon , butter, and sour cream. My prime rib was thin but cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered. The ribs had a nice layer of flavorful sauce. We all left full and with leftovers. Our server was in training but was pleasant, attentive and efficient. The interior has a rustic nautical vibe with many pictures of fish and fisherman on the walls. There is an outdoor seating area. Flanigan's has been around since 1959 and is iconic in South Florida with 25 locations from Palm Beach to Miami-Dade. There is a liquor store attached to the Pompano locations. Found Metal in My Burger,Completely Unacceptable I've been a loyal Flanigan's customer for years, especially at the Pompano Beach location. I go at least once a week. But after what happened during my last visit, I honestly don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable eating there again. I bit into my cheeseburger and found a piece of metal inside. It was buried in the sandwich and could have seriously injured me. This wasn't just an inconvenience it was dangerous. I told the waiter, who brought over the manager. They did comp our food and were professional about it, which I appreciate. But frankly, that's not enough. A foreign object like that in food is a major health and safety issue, and I'm shocked it happened at a place I've trusted for so long. This kind of mistake is inexcusable. I'm sharing this so others are aware, and so management understands how serious this is. I'm sad and disappointed, Flanigan's used to be my favorite spot, but now I'm hesitant to ever go back. read more

So disappointed! Stopped in for some wings and they were so tiny it was a waste of money. This is the second time. I've ordered wings here and both times....looked like baby chic wings. Food was very good and waitress great . We had little service dog with us and she was very quiet on my laps but manager Kelly told us she needs to be on the floor . So we put our dog on the floor and to our surprise food arrived packed to go . No word , no apology. They are different restaurants in area , we will not be coming back there . 12/10/2025 An extremely disappointing first dining experience at Flanigan's Pompano Beach. I was dining with four good friends who were introducing me to Flanigan's for the first time. We were served by Stephanie, who provided one of the worst service experiences we've ever encountered. She had showed no professionalism, repeatedly ignored basic requests, never brought water to the table and did not properly follow our order. At the end of the night, after we paid nearly $200, she took noticeably long to return only to hand us our change entirely in $1 bills, a full stack, claiming there were no other bills available. When we brought these concerns to the manager, Alejandro, there was no accountability, no effort to resolve the issue, and no leadership shown. His dismissive attitude made the situation even worse. This is far below the standard we expect from Flanigan's, and I'm requesting that this matter be addressed immediately. No guest should be treated this way. Thank you I look forward to hearing from someone who can provide a proper resolution. read more

The food was good, but the server was rude. My meal was not what I wanted, so I sent it back. The server had an attitude and walked away without even asking if I wanted anything else. After waiting about five minutes without her returning, I had to flag down another waitress to tell my waitress that her behavior was inappropriate. When my server finally came back, she asked if I wanted anything else, but with an attitude. I said no, and after that, she never returned to check on me or the table. The waitress I flagged down then asked if I needed a to-go box and handed me the receipt. It was frustrating that my server tried to charge me for the basket of fries that had sat on the table while I waited for my food to be prepared correctly. Our server never came back, and since it was Mother's Day, I was very disappointed. read more

A local restaurant since 1959! Ribs and everything else. Super casual, noisey busy place, only a 15-minute wait on a Saturday evening. Sports on all the tv's and server Devin. Ice tea was watery, but our meals were good. Les had the full rack of ribs, and I had a rib eye, and all was tasty. I love flanigans cole slaw. We ended with a dulce cheesecake. Service was a little slow, waited ten minutes before someone came to our table, and did wait awhile for take home boxes and the check, but it was busy. Prices are very reasonable. read more

The food at this location is always solid and dependable. Their ribs were so yummy and saucy! I also love the huge drinking cups you get with your meal bc if you want to walk around town after, you have a nice beverage. Music is way to loud no matter where you are seated. Cannot hear the servers or yourself talk. Food is good rated a 3, due to noise environment. Flanigan's is pretty good at delivering value. With rising prices they have not gone crazy. Their prime rib dinner is seasoned well and a fully loaded potato tops it off nicely. The drinks are pretty basic (national brands) but you can get a cold beer with the meal. The atmosphere is part beach, part Irish and part dive so if you are looking for something else you are in the wrong place. Service is efficient but varies depending on your server. Again, a good value esp if you are a meat lover. read more

I always come to Flanagan's and this time was by far the worst visit. Starting from the hostess (a short Caucasian girl with glasses with short black hair) that sits customers (she didn't want give me her name) she stated that it was 15 min wait. I said that it was fine and gave her my number and she said we will text you when your table is ready. More than 15 mins went by and not a single text from Flanagans. Not only did I not receive a text but the hostess also didn't even check outside while we were waiting. I seen people going in and out the restaurant and didn't seem like there was a wait. I came inside to figure what's the status of my table. I noticed they changed hostess, so I mentioned the wait time and what the previous hostess said to me and the current hostess stated that there was no current wait time and that the restaurant already texted me and I never received anything. He challenged me and made me feel like I'm lying and in the wrong because I never got a text from the restaurant I am highly upset with this experience and this shouldn't happen. We arrived and although there was Aline, we were seated quickly. The restaurant was full. The TVs were going, but volume was down. The atmosphere was pleasant. It was March Madness for sure. This restaurant feeds the community..... the service is amazing with food prices very reasonable. We typically have the Joe Meal Deal during the weekdays. We get the full rack of their delicious ribs with a loaded bake potato, Caesar side salad, garlic rolls , and free drink. Try their raspberry tea. We then order another drink and additional side salad. Even after we split the meal, we still have a hard time finishing it. Please tip the servers generously...... they are always friendly read more

Well, my husband had been pining over that decision because that is his usual order but he was trying something different. However, this was the Briny Pompano family man whispering to go with old faithful. It was fate! It was meant to be. The atmosphere aligned at the corner of Atlantic and A1A. Oh waitress!!! Another order! The fish and chips were amazing. Just like the fatherly Briny whisperer said - Cod in a beer batter. Light and flakey and add that malt vinegar with tarter sauce...yummo!! Just be aware that the Shepherd's Pie was covered in brown gravy. That was not what I expected but it was good. The bar tender - Michael - was very attentive, and he told us that most of the staff has been there for years. I can understand that because of the feeling of family and coorporation they all had. The also had live music when we were there which was a nice plus.

I've been going to Flannigan's for years now. I've been to many all over S. Florida, but I typically come to the Pompano location as it is just near my work. Ambiance: The atmosphere always seems a bit dreary. I can see where that rustic look is shot for, but it comes across as gloomy and somewhat depressing. It is low-lit, but not in a warm way. The fun pictures on the walls and fish tanks help soften the place a bit, but it still could use some warmth. Service: Of all the times I have been, I have never had good consistent service all the way through. Half the time I feel like the waitress or waiters forget about us. And when they are at the table, at times they are shouting over to another table or to another co-worker. It always comes across as unprofessional. Even the friendlier servers seem to make this dreadful mistake as well. Cleanliness: Although the dining room has always appeared to be well-kept and looks clean, there is usually a stagnant odor looming through the restaurant, and the smell of old beer spilt seems to hover around the bar area. The restrooms have always been up to par and adequately clean. Food: The food has always been consistently good, if not great. Garlic rolls: Fantastic! Loaded with butter and garlic, so they are not for everyone, but they are great. French Fries: They have curly fries, but they always seem overcooked and dry, with little flavor Prime Rib: Always thick and tender, and the kitchen has always gotten the cooking temperatures right. Burgers: I have had several of the burgers, and they have been very good. Im not a huge fan of their BBQ sauce, so I usually do without it on the burgers, but the patties are flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The bacon is a bit skimpy, but the flavor is there. Burgers are never dry, and I usually have to get a few extra napkins, which is a good thing! Philly Cheese Steak: Flannigan's does an outstanding job on the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. Having lived a few years just outside of Philadelphia, I am a bit of a snob when it comes to these special sandwiches, as I have tried them all over Philly. I must say Flannigan's has perfected it. I am picky about the ratio of sautéed mushrooms and onions with the cheese, but it is perfect. Drink: They have a full bar, with a large selection to choose from. The bar seems to always have people sitting at it watching a game, etc, and at night it has been packed. I'm a sucker to try specialty drinks, so I tried a martini that was supposed to taste like Flan. Not bad Overall, I'm a fan of the food at Flannigan's. It is consistent, well priced, and usually comes out of kitchen in a timely fashion. However, Flannigan's has missed the mark on the other points of ambiance and service. I think I'll just order take out from there from now on. read more

I honestly hate to write a bad review because I love this company and have been eating their food since I was a child, unfortunately I will NEVER recommend this location to anybody after my last two experiences. My first experience I ordered a chipotle chicken sandwich and request to add blue cheese crumbles to it I was charged for it and never received it . I also requested a side of blue cheese dressing , I was charged for it and never received it BUT TO TOP IT ALL OFF I take a bite into my sandwich and the chicken is RAW being that I'm pregnant I very quickly spit it out after realizability the chicken was pink and gummy . I called the restraint at around 9:35 and spoke to a manager he was very kind and said he would more than gladly allow me to place the same order at a future date so that they could resolute the issue . Okay fine ... So the next day I call still craving this chicken sandwich so let's give it another try . I call and was answered by a rude woman who seemed less than concerned with my issue or that I wanted to place an order and told me I would have to speak with the same manager I spoke with the night before and he wasn't in until the evening I politely told her that he informed me I could speak with any manager on duty as he would write my name and phone number down I was then place in a long hold to be told that the manager was outside and would call me back I told her I'm trying to place an order for me and also my friend .. again less than concerned she told me she would call back. I go to Publix across the street thinking I'll do a little shopping and i would try again in an hour or so . An hour goes by I call back because I had yet to receive a call and was told off the bat "ma'am she hasn't come back in yet " ummm ok... at this point a little bothered and a lot hungry I asked if I could just place the same order and also my friends and just deal with it when I got there she said that was fine and so I thought everything would be ok from there . The thought was just that ... a thought .... I got my chicken sandwich with no blue cheese in it yet again I caught it while there so I asked them to please fix it they take it to the back and bring it back to me thinking it's all fixed I pull off I open my box to realize they gave me COLD BLUE CHEESE I requested it be added to the sandwich like it's been before !!!!!!! The side of blue cheese dressing I requested turned out to be ranch also ..... my best friends burger was charred to a crisp when she requested it medium ... I mean I guess the chicken was cooked this time .... read more

Many Flanigan's fans may not realize that this is the very first Flanigan's location to open in South Florida. We stopped by for an early dinner during a busy holiday weekend with a party of 12, including several children. From the moment we arrived, the hostess was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating to our large group's needs. We were seated promptly and immediately greeted by our server, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch. She was attentive from the start, bringing a round of waters right away and taking the time to explain the daily specials. One aspect of the experience that was a bit frustrating was Flanigan's happy hour pricing. We were told that drinks could be "up to 40% off," but neither the menu nor the server could provide the exact discounted prices until the items were rung up. This lack of transparency made it difficult to know what we were actually paying ahead of time. We ordered a glass of wine and several beers, including the Flanigan's Pale Ale. Unfortunately, the pale ale was disappointing. It appeared unusually light in color and lacked the flavor profile typically associated with a pale ale. When we expressed our concerns, our server handled the situation professionally by checking with the bartender and providing a sample for comparison, which we appreciated. Whether it was simply the recipe or a keg issue, it wasn't what we expected. As for the food, everything arrived in a timely manner. The Tumbleweed onion rings were delicious and a great way to start the meal. For our entrées, we ordered a Caesar salad, a burger, and a fish sandwich, all of which were enjoyable and prepared as expected. A special thank you goes to both the hostess and our server for going the extra mile with the children in our group. They gave the kids temporary tattoos, which immediately became the highlight of the evening for them. Watching the kids excitedly apply their tattoos while waiting for dinner was a fun touch that made the experience feel more personal and family-friendly. Overall, the food and atmosphere were consistent with what you would expect from any Flanigan's location. I was on a pompano beach staycation with a friend of mine because she had a boat party on the marina in Pompano Beach that had lots of drinks but no food. Whoops. Almost all the food places were closed in Pompano last night. We had some hamburgers and some french fries. the crowd she held on to his car while he bagan to pull away. UM...yea thats always something interesting to see. But back to the feel of this place. You have to put your mask on when coming in and ordering and then when you get your food you can take it off. I aske for my NY strip to be made medium. While I'm not sure what's going on in the kitchen I will give the chef a pass here because this is not a 5 star Michelin restaurant in Manhattan and even if he or she wanted to make it grilled the proper amount of time -there is only so much a chef can do if his suppliers dont get him or her the proper cuts that are required so it does not seem too tough by the time it gets to my table. I am exasperated.! i We decided to go to Flanigans to have dinner and drinks. We asked the server to sit us outside. After sitting outside with menus., we waited over 30 minutes, and were never acknowledged. We kindly went back inside and asked for our server. The nonchalant waitress advised that she forgot. We went outside yet again. We waited another 10 minutes, and still no server! Went inside again to ask the server What happened and she RUDELY explained to me that THEY SHE WAS BUSY AND HAD OTHER THINGS TO DO! After requesting a manager. DAVID the general manager came out he NEVER apologized. He condoned her behavior and asked me what did I want to do, did I want to sit down now? Worst possible customer service. My wife asked for a side of basil for her Italian meal and was refused because it wasn't part of the recipe. They put basil on other dishes and we would gladly pay an up charge but none of that mattered. The manager and the corporate office both stood behind this ridiculous policy. The corporate office replied to my email with " do not ask us to modify, substitute or alter our menu." If their recipes were that great, people wouldn't ask for changes. Also, they didn't have any problem leaving things off my meal. Wasn't that an alteration? I asked if they would alter their recipes to accommodate allergies. Their answer was the same. read more

This bar/restaurant had a fun atmosphere and good food. While there is no where to wait for a table (we ended up outside) the wait wasn't terribly long. Ordered the pasta salad and it was exactly why I hope it would be - cold pasta salad you would expect at a picnic or gathering. It hit the spot. Our waitress was really friendly. We visit Pompano Flanigans often when we visit we are never disappointed. Although service is good across the staff we normally request Victoria because she personalizes the service to her customers. We love it here read more

The bar is located right along side the resorts pool, and steps away from the beach. Can't say the staff here is friendly. The bartender (female) seemed to have been having a bad day. There was no greeting as we sat down, and it took a few long minutes before we were finally acknowledged. We were given some menus, and right after that she disappeared for a while. At one point I said to my friend let's just leave.. the vibe was already off. We stayed, and the bartender arrived back about 7 min later. We were asked "do you know what you want" very abruptly, as if we ruined her day almost. We ordered 2 drinks, had them and then went inside to sit. Nice place to come hang out and have some drinks, staff just makes it uncomfortable as if you've done something to ruin their day!

Overall, food and drinks were mostly good, but dinner felt awkward right from walking in. I got there a little after 5 PM and they said tables were all reserved/booked, so bar seating was only available--no wiggle room for a solo diner to be at a table on such an occasion apparently. By the time I finished, maybe only 1/3 of the inside and patio was full. As I was sitting at the bar, the oceanfront door was open and the wind was whipping in like crazy--it felt like sitting in a wind tunnel and it was cold, not enjoyable at all. I also had this weird inkling that the bar couple and bartenders were talking about me negatively and laughing. I have no proof, but that was the vibe I got. I wanted to leave as soon as possible.
