Took the same item of Men's clothing to three different Cleaners in Beverly recently. Flair's was the middle priced location, being $5.35 more than Carter's. Magic Touch was the highest cost, being $10.35 more than the least expensive business. Item still had lingering odors that were not removed by drycleaning. Customer service was the worst, however. I recently switched to using Flair because my delivery service changed. They are very nice. However. I've now had three button down shirts ruined. One is missing all of the buttons from the front placket. Every single one. On another, the button broke off and crumbled into pieces while I was taking it off of the wire hanger (and it needs to be worn for an event in the morning). Once or even twice, I get it. But it's every time. The shirt with no buttons is now essentially irreparable. And I barely have time to go to the cleaners, let alone go back to have them repair what they've unfortunately broken (or to first go get new buttons to replace the entire set). Asked to have a pair of jeans hemmed and waist increase 1 inch. Pick up 2 weeks later (nobody called me) and the pants are 1 inch smaller. Take them back and instead of using the material from the hem they used a piece from different jeans that don't match. They left all the cut stitching fro. The first time it was wrong and the work on the piece sewn in looks horrible. 50 dollars for pants plus 32 dollars to alter and it looks like hell......first world problems guess. read more

As a consistent and loyal customer, I can say honestly and categorically that the owner cheats on hot water. Press the hot water button on any machine over the course of the last half decade at the very least, and there is zero hot water. Granted, to prevent freezing he probably has it turned to about 60 degrees, because that's what it feels like. I stick my hand in every time I run the wash and hold it there. The employees have been trained to say, "Oh, it's a busy day; the hot water is all gone." Well, busy or empty, the water is always cold. It's not very honest. And frankly, the prices are reasonable, but it's wrong to tell a customer one thing and deliver another. At least be upfront about your value proposition. Flair Cleaners. They are fast and the location is convenient. However, whoever is responsible for pressing dress shirts should not be. Buttons are almost always chipped, melted or completely lost. As buttons are critical to the make up of many shirts, the mad presser is rendering them unwearable! It's also not necessary to press cuffs so stop doing that ASAP! read more

Just moved to Beverly and Flair is right near my house. Dropped off a few shirts and was not impressed. They broke two buttons, added starch (when I did not ask for it) and they iron on these obnoxious tags that actually damage the clothes AND irritate your neck. OK, before I realized all of the above - I had already dropped off 3 more shirts. The tags continued, the starch continued, AND they actually cleaned a shirt (and charged me) even thought they claim it had a hole in it. Now not only do I know the shirt did not have a hole when they got it, but even if it did - what kind of imbecile would go forward and dry clean it anyway? I have been going to Sam's since and they have done a fantastic job for less money. Sorry Flair...never again. read more

Simply Put, If I could give it negative stars I would. Shitty horrendous service to say the least. Nothing about them is quality. Their service is slow and unpredictable, they have a "not so sure it exists" policy, their staff lacks experience and knowledge about the services they provide. This is my favorite dry cleaner. You can actually SEE them cleaning and ironing your clothes - the facilities are located on site. There's nothing like walking into the warm steamy goodness of Flair on a cold winter day. That being said, I'm not sure this is environmentally friendly... but they're a class act fo sho. Typically they have a 2 - 3 day turnaround on dry cleaning clothes. They do a good job ironing them too - all the pleats in my skirt looked fabulous and flirty, as required. I don't recall the prices, but they never seemed out of line. They're only open until 7 PM ('cause that's how the 'burbs operate), but they open pretty early in the AM. Their location is money too. It's on 1A, so it was on the way from the Cummings Center to that pithole of a road known as 128. My dry cleaning has been sitting by my desk for the past few weeks because there's no dry cleaners that's as convenient (with parking) as this one was. Flair Cleaners may be the *one* thing (aside from Wrapture, of course) that I miss about working on the North Shore. read more

Rosa did it while I sat there and waited, and it was a great price. I would a hundred percent come back for alterations. They RUINED clothing and took no responsibility for it. The color was changed and looked like it had bleach stains. They denied all of it and said it was my problem for wearing them too much. Absolutely miserable & horrendous alteration service. I'm in the Air Force & Flair Cleaners tremendously messed up my military uniform in multiple areas. The original problems existed on my ABUs, when they sewed the ranks on wrong. On my dress blues, they cinched the fabric behind my ranks, the chevrons are not parallel to the ground, & the suit breast pocket is all bumpy. This is not me being anal-retentive, in the military there are regulations to follow. Each & every service member should take extreme pride in their uniform. I gave them an infinitive timeline, & said call me with any problems. I then further explained in detail each item, however, the final product was pathetic. I was nothing but, polite & patient with them the entire process. After agreeing to discount me $18, when I initially complained--upon pickup they claimed they dry cleaned everything for free, and instead offered me a store credit for $18. Great, I never asked for that--because it is against military regulations to have specific items dry cleaned. I would NEVER take another item there again, so the store credit is worthless. When I requested the $18 dollars I was told would be refunded, (again being too nice, clearly as I deserved a full refund & money to replace the damaged uniforms) they responded with the store credit as their final option. The manager, Michelle, explained the owner was foreign & had trouble working the credit card machine, but they are a family run business since the 1950s...how intriguing? Today I went to pick up some clothing from Flair and to my dismay they had lost one of my shirts. It is a 70 dollar Banana Republic shirt that I need for a wedding this weekend. The girl behind the counter had no explanation of where my shirt was and told me that lost clothing had become a more and more common problem since she had been working there. She had no idea what their liability policy was and told us to call tomorrow. There was no manager there and the one employee had no answers for me. She shrugged it off like it was no big deal. I live in ohio and now am stuck with having to get another shirt for this wedding in two days. Flair will lose your clothes. Do not go there. So, I am super unhappy with Flair. #1 Any business that doesn't acknowledge customer service better have unbelievable quality control and be hands down the best. Flair doesn't come close and given their no customer service policy you end up paying for and having to accept poor quality. #2 I dropped off 3 items for alterations. (1) My pants that were to be hemmed came back 1/2 inch different from leg to leg. As I watched her redo/fix them for me, she was on the phone and sewing my hem totally crooked. Oh this is after she told me in broken English that it wasn't her fault that the pants were uneven to begin with. (2) Another pair of pants that were to be taken in from flairing out to strait legged were sewn improperly so it created a ribbon like/wavy effect near the bottom. Lastly (3) another pair that were to go from flairing our to strait legged were never taken in near my hips so it made me look like MC Hammer. I fixed those myself. #3 My husbands tie came back, yes stain removed BUT totally crinkled and folded over like where the stain was. It just hadn't been pressed properly. UGH so annoying to have to pay for $40 in alterations and not one came out satisfactory. And then do deal with inexcusable pressing issues. And then to try and deal with the manager who wasn't in when they told me so I ended up going to deal with it all 4 times. Yes I am a picky person but this was unacceptable to anyone, even my mom who doesn't much care or notice these things said it was all messed up. I'm primarily reviewing the laundromat. I've only used the dry cleaners once and they were okay. The laundromat needs improvement. Every time I go there at least 25% of the machines are out of order and it takes a while for them to fix. The largest washers make a horrible noise when they are trying to spin, like grinding metal. May want to put some oil in them one of these days. The newest Maytag dryers are way too hot. They burned all my fleece clothes and they were on the delicate cycle. The people that work there always seem to just be chatting and standing around and always in the way. I have to say 'excuse me' to get by with a cart at least 2 or 3 times a visit. It's pretty entertaining when the owner comes in. The employees seem to fear him, they cater to his every need even though I've seen him lambaste them a few times. There is one younger guy that works nights who does a very good job. You can tell he works hard. Washers seem generally overpriced. $6.75 for the 5-loader, $4.75 for the 3-loader. Only reason I still go is because I live right around the corner. If you have the time to make the drive, go to Crane River on Water St. in Danvers. Ralph knows how to run a business. read more

Also had a sofa cover they were supposed to clean, only cleaned the one spot in particular I pointed out... everything else dirty still. very sad - brought in a plain black shirt for my husband to wear on our wedding day - told them specifically it's for a wedding so please be careful - we got the shirt back COVERED in a white film that my husband spent our entire wedding day morning trying to remove himself with household items. Stike 2 and they are OUT, but too late for my clothes. If I clould give this cleaners a zero star I would. The first time I used this was a month ago on a dress. The dress was cleaned but they had broken the zipper. Okay, things like this happen and they did fix it after repeatedly telling them, no insisting that the zipper was fine when I brought it there. This time I went for a simple dry cleaning. Not really so simple, the lost my slacks. Can I talk to a manager, I need them tomorrow? Nope, no one is in for 3 days. Too bad. Like Harper D. says, three strikes you're out but in my case, it will be two strikes. I wish I had read Harper's review and Casey must work for Flairs or have a relative that does. NEVER EVER GO HERE. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE MANAGER. I've just had the worst customer service experience of my life with the manager there. After waiting over two weeks for my comforter (I was told to come back three times and then, when I called in to check, I was told that my gigantic comforter could not be found!), I finally got it back and its color was barely recognizable. I also came to find out that my comforter had just been sitting "over there" in the corner of the shop the whole time I'd been waiting, driving miles thinking I could pick it up and calling in about it. I spoke with the manager and explained politely and calmly that I expected a discount due to the extreme un-timeliness of the services provided and the discoloration. Apparently the manager is the owners' son and, therefore, is not fired despite his total disregard and disdain for his customers. He said the official policy is to say, "I'm sorry", (rudely) but that no discounts would be given. I disputed his flawed logic for several minutes... "We're a small business, we don't give out discounts like the big places." Then how can you compete with them for my loyalty, which I prefer to give to a small business? Then I asked, "Would you pay full price for a shirt with buttons missing?" he replied, "Sure I would, I'd just bring it here!" Great! He finally offered, very curtly, to give me a few dollars from his own wallet. I took them to give him a taste of his own rude, bullying medicine, then paid (still too much) and left. Although I'd explained in vain that if he had just been genuine in his regret over the result of their service and offered to compensate me with even a measly discount to make up for my inconvenience I would have been satisfied, his final words when I said I would be making a complaint against his horrid customer service were, "See, that's why we don't give discounts, because it doesn't even matter and the customer will complain anyhow." That would not have been the case had he been reasonable with me for one instant! Please take your business elsewhere! read more

I like this Laundromat. Employees are very friendly and helpful. You can watch television or use the free wifi while you wait for your laundry. 99% of the time its very clean but I do agree with the other poster that at times. some of the machines are down. I like the fact that the dryers get hot. I dont like having to put in quater after quarter and wait 2 hours for my clothes to dry and when I take them out they are wet, like at some laundromats who charge a quater for 5 or 6 mins. I have dropped my laundry off as well and all my belongs were nice and fresh, folded nicely and things I requested done, were done exactly as asked. Give credit to the people who work there. I worked at a laundromat once and its amazing what people drop off and not to mention how disgusting some of it is. I give this laundromat the thumbs up!!! read more

I was there picking up some garments. The manager was standing in the distance with her back towards me and chatting with a worker. I was the only customer at the counter. They kept me waiting for almost 5 minutes before she came to help me. Obviously, my time & business is not important to them. The lack of courtesy is appalling! I also had some alterations done. They not only told me the invoice is not showing up in the computer, they charged me extra and applied it to the garments that were already paid for! When I talked to Don Beady the owner, he insisted that they should have charged me more... for the little adjustment that had to be made after the initial major alteration, he thinks the little adjustment should cost the same as the major alteration of $65!!!! I fail to see how it is my fault that the seamstress did not make the garment fit perfectly the first time when I stood still for the pinning and fitting? So I must pay an additional $65? DO NOT GO HERE. I tried several times after I moved nearby because the location was so convenient. But a number of problems have made it well worth for me to drive somewhere farther away. Charged for work that wasn't done. Lost clothes. Clothes not ready on the scheduled date. Poor quality work (pant cuffs done came out after one wearing) And when these events happened, terrible customer service. I didn't receive any apologies--even when they lost my clothes-- and had to demand to speak with the manager to have charges removed for work that was never even performed. He was no better, acting as if he was doing me a huge favor. I have literally never written a negative review on the internet before. I was told the rushed items would be available the next day for an extra charge. I agreed to pay the extra charge for the rushed items, and pay the normal price for regular clothes. The next day I went to pick up the rushed items and noone could find them. The clothes I needed rushed were no where to be found. HMMMM.....So I then asked the girl at the counter would I still have to pay the fee for it being rushed. She said I should be able to get an adjustment from the owner and she made a note on the ticket. Ok I said that should be fine. I went back the following day to pick up my dry cleaning, and all the items were done except for guess which ones.....that's right, the express items Still noone in the store could find the express items. The dress has a brooch on it and the girl assured me it would not get ruined but when I picked the dress up the brooch was barely hanging on anymore and the woman behind the counter told me there was nothing they could do about it. So after reading all the negative reviews online i was quit scared to see what my clothes were going to look like since i had already dropped them off early that day. Being new to the area i was on my way home when i stumbled apon the store, but after recieving my clothes, to my surprise everything was completly exceptable and i was happy w the quality of the clothes. As for the service, i also thought that the cashier was extreamly polite and respectful. After returning to the store several times a week for a few months the women had remembered my name and had my information on the screen ready to go before i even walked in the door. This is convenient for me since i am always in a hurry. After about 6 months i had noticed when i ot home that i was missing a brand new pair of true religion jeans that were over $300. I thought to my self there gone and i was upset. I was told by whom which i assume is the manager that she would look for my jeans and contact me by the end of the day. I recieved a phone call around mid after noon, telling me that they had not found them but would keep looking. One week later a received a call from the same women. She had found my pants. I was so excited because they were not only expensive but were my favorite pair of jeans. So as for the the quality of work and service at flair's, i think it is worth the money and that things can change and business can improve after hiring more attentive employees who also are very respectful.
