My son had to have 3 pairs of pants hemmed quickly. Anna's was able to complete the alterations in time, but the charge was crazy, $30 per pair. When I called later to ask the cost of hemming, she quotes me $20. Clearly she took full advantage of the situation. I would be careful and ask her the fee up front. read more

Stopped in to try to get a zipper changed for my daughters coat. It was a complicated replacement so she didn't want to do it but, she reinforced the zipper for me on the spot. I had parked far away and left my purse because I thought I would just drop off the cost to be fixed. She didn't even want money from me. I called Anna in a last minute pinch regarding my bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding. I had already gotten it altered a month ago but after trying it on, I realized the dress no longer fit. I have been going to Anna's for years, but today I am very disappointed. I took a dress that I needed to wear this weekend last week. Yes it was done last Friday, but I have not had time to pick it up between graduation and work. I went out there place of business today to pick it up and find a hand written note that they are closed until June 4th. Hello! You have peoples clothes! You should give customers more than a couple days notice or call them if you're going to be closed. It's not like a nail shop or a store that I can go and get what I need somewhere else. First time going to Anna. She is super sweet and works very quickly. I dropped white pants off on a Wednesday and needed them for vacation Friday. She had them done on time. Did a great job on the length, the stitching was flawless BUT the bottom of the pants came back all stained. There's reddish-brown marks all over the bottom of both legs right where she had altered them. I tried hand washing them, the stains didn't come out. I then brought the pants to my dry cleaner, they were able to slightly fade the stains but you can still see them very very clearly. Very disappointed. Brand new pants, $70 ($98 if you include the cost of the alteration and dry cleaners), with the tags still on.. now can never be worn. read more

Please ANYBODY who knows Anna or anything about her - I brought a bridesmaid dress here about three weeks ago for a wedding, gave her my name number and date of the wedding. The wedding is in just 4 days and I haven't heard from her yet so after multiple unreturned voicemails I went to her shop only find out she's out of the country for the next 3 weeks!! I literally have no dress to wear in this wedding. Hundreds of dollars has been spent only to have no dress. I'm beside myself. I had been recommended Anna's by a fellow co-worker and thought to give it a try a few years ago (also, it was located next door to my job). I can't express enough how much I love coming to Anna's. Not only is Anna the sweetest women, she really takes pride in the work she does and makes sure the customer leaves satisfied. Anna can work around your schedule to complete what you need done, when you need it. I have since relocated jobs but still make trips up to the north shore to get my clothes fitted just right, re-designed/re-configured existing items, or just to hem the many cute pants that I can never wear right away because I am too short. I found Anna after asking for recommendations on fb for a tailor near me that also could alter some of my favorite jeans! They had fit perfect everywhere except the waist! So I brought them to Anna who suggested adding elastic in the waist rather than cutting the jeans which would make the fabric too stiff and too tight! I'm soo glad I listened to her, because they fit amazing!! And you can't even tell they have elastic in the waist band! Now everything is where it should be! I would recommended Anna she knows what she is doing, also I don't BELIVE she comments on anyone's body to be rude or negative she's just been doing this a long time and knows how certain fabrics work, and how certain fabrics arnt the best to cut and form to a curvy body! I have a smaller waist but curvey hips and thighs she certainly let me know it! Lol but I wasn't offended as she was totally right about the elastic and I know cutting the jeans to make them smaller would cause them to no longer fit me! read more

If I could give it a zero, I most definitely would. The day I brought my dress she did nothing but criticize the shape of my body, as if my body was the problem. The dress fit me perfectly and all I asked was for simple things done to the dress. She told me she was capable of doing the job, and when she did the pinning the first day it was perfectly fine. When I got the call to pick it up, I was so excited thinking I was going to have the perfect prom dress. When I went to get it, it was the worst thing ever. It no longer fit me, the sewing was ridiculous, it looked like a little kid dress. I had to go to the ultimate and get a new dress, I left her my receipt of how much I paid and it's been now 2 weeks since my prom and she hasn't called me. I finally called her and she told me she has no money and wasn't going to pay me. One, you're a business how do you not have money? Two, if I was her I would have been smarter because the court will make her pay even more. I will never ever recommend someone to come here. My friend recommended me to come here because she did an amazing job on her dress but charged $180 just to take off length. My mother was smart enough to let her know that she used to do sewing and could have easily done it herself but had no choice to go to an alteration because she didn't have a sewing machine, and Ana said it would only be $100 when I had asked to take off the arms, change the back of the dress on the appearance, take off length, and make it flow nicely. How is it that my friend paid $180 and i was going to pay $100? Yet the first day I was there she kept telling me she would not be able to give me a price because "it will be a lot of work". She most definitely schemes people. She isn't good with dresses that are thick material. Everyone I have shown just gets upset on how beautiful the dress was and how horrible it was after she worked on it. Thank god I didn't take the dress when she finished because I know she would try to say I ruined it or something. So for anyone who is trying to get a prom dress or wedding dress altered amazing, I most definitely will recommend going to Revere MA, Santoria Italia, she did an amazing job on my new dress! read more

Anna is hilarious. I went into her shop to get deeper pockets for a pair of jeans for my girlfriend. I chuckled with Anna and another customer for about 10 minutes. I haven't laughed so much in a month! Her store is a buried treasure of the Northshore. Find another place. Anna seems like a lovely older woman, but my experience with her work was not good. I needed her to hem a bridesmaid dress a couple inches and bring it in a small amount on top. She didn't actually measure anything and seemed to eyeball it. When I came to pick the dress up the hem was very uneven, leaving the dress lopsided and it would not zip up all the way in back as it was taken in way too much. I asked her to fix the top and all she did was pull it back out to the original size. At that point I was frustrated with asking her to continue to fix it and decided to go somewhere else. I found Anna by chance when I was told to find a "seamstress" not a tailor. I did not realize there was difference. A seamstress can do much more than a tailor. She has done several dresses for me and my daughters, the quality was excellent and the price was extremely reasonable. read more

I chose Anna after reading some reviews and because of her location. Best choice ever! She altered a dress I wore to my niece's wedding and did an amazing job - it fit perfectly and was so comfortable. Was done in no time and cost much less than I anticipated. I highly recommend her and will be using her again. Regarding the negative 2013 review, customer was informed she was going to be away and didn't get there in time - is two sides to every story.
