I had a great experience getting my bridesmaid dress altered here! Margarita made me feel confident in my dress and altered it beautifully. My dress was ready on time. I appreciated that I was able to text Margarita when needed, and she responded right away. I will definitely be going back! read more

My bridesmaid dress was beautifully altered, but for 5x the cost of the dress. This was my first time ever getting anything altered, and I should've done my research -- I didn't know better. Margarita charged me $400 for all of the alterations (hem, bust, adjustments here and there) -- but I later found out all the other bridesmaids paid closer to $100 for the same stuff at their respective tailors. I was shocked by the price, and do feel she was up selling. But I needed the alterations done quickly, and Margarita did everything right on schedule. The alterations were immaculate, there's no doubt about that. However, had I done my research and inquired beforehand, I definitely would've thought again about finding something more cost effective. read more

I have never reviewed anything, but my experience was so terrible that I feel I need to so other's do not have my experience. First, I was charged $1100 for a hem, bustle, and a small take in of the top of my dress. My dress only cost $1500, I should have left when I was quoted that. Everything was fine until my last fitting when I noticed multiple pulls all over my dress, as if it had not been taken care of while there. When I asked about them Margarita took scissors too them and ironed them, she then said "oh theres dirt on it you have to get it cleaned"... there was not dirt on it 30 seconds before. She also stated that people are going to step on my dress anyway, presuming I should just accept that the dress isn't going to be perfect. I left with my dress that day for fear what would happen if I left it there any longer. I then went home and noticed issue after issue, the buttons no longer line up in the back, there are multiple pulls in the fabric, and a few stains on the buttons. I text her requesting some sort of refund, and I was told to bring it back so she could fix it. I refused as I do not want more and more pulls in my dress before my wedding. Maybe she usually works with lace and beading and this hides mistakes and mistreatment, but my fabric is satin and simple, everything shows. I asked for some sort of refund, she told me she would give me a full refund if I bring it back and she reverses everything she did....With the complete disregard for my dress the first time, I can only imagine my dress would be completely destroyed after having everything undone. Lastly, she bustled my dress with large clear buttons sewn on the back. It has ruined the clean look of the back of the dress. I have brought it to another seamstress and they are appalled at what was done. I feel extremely disappointed, completely taken advantage of, and overall lied to. Do not go here. I repeat DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I came to Margarita extremely anxious and worried that my alterations would not be done in time. I came to her with very little time until my wedding day and she told me "don't worry" and got it done within a matter of days. She even made suggestions about what kind of shapewear I should wear which completely elevated the look and made my dress look even more beautiful than I could have expected. It fits me like a glove and looks beautiful. She is kind, humble, funny and a very skilled professional. With Margarita, you don't have to worry about anything. I will be returning to her for any future alterations. read more

Came here for a bridesmaid dress alteration. She noticed that my torso was much shorter than the waist of the dress and suggested she shorten the strap to make it fit my waist better. She was transparent about pricing and quoted me for hemming and strap alterations separately so I could decide. She also suggested a short train. I felt great in the dress, and turnaround was just 2 weeks. read more

Margarita knows her stuff. She made multiple appointments with me to get the look just right for our wedding. I am very pleased with her skill. The two star review is in regards to the payment process. Each visit, cost about 500$, x4-5 visits, for waist, straps, bust, hem, and bustle. It was broken up, with no communication about total cost. Felt a little underhanded. I never could anticipate spending +2000$ on alterations. If you choose Rita, plan to spend 5x the traditional cost of alterations. read more

I went here because my usual tailor moved so I was looking for another tailor to replace her. The two issues with this place are (1) the price point and (2) communication. The one good thing about this place is that (3) the alterations were done well. (1) This place way overcharged me for alterations. I paid 6x as much for alterations than on the actual piece (yes, one piece) of clothing that was altered. The adjustments they made were well done but not worth it for the price. (2) (a) She was also very unclear about the price point. The receipt didn't explain why she charged me her price and when I asked her about her rationale for the price, she didn't actually answer my question. (b) When I came in to get an appointment, she was on the phone with who I think was her daughter. I have no problems with her being in the phone at all, but when I walked in, she told the person on the phone that she had a customer and that it was an emergency so she needed to attend to me right there. I told her that it's not an emergency and that I didn't need a same day appointment, but she didn't seem to listen and kept telling me not to worry - that she'd get the alterations done quickly. I appreciated that but my job wasn't an emergency. She saw me on the spot and I'm concerned that she overcharged me for this "emergency" that she made up in her head, but again, I may never know because she didn't give me a clear explanation as to why the price was what it was. (3) That being said, they get two stars instead of one star only because the alterations were well done. I don't want to minimize that, but again, even these well done alterations don't warrant what she charged me. The only way that the price would have been worth it is if she used pure gold threading for the adjustments. I had no issue paying because I'm sure as a small business I'm certain that they struggled during COVID-19 and because I had no issue with her tailoring, but I won't be taking my business there again. read more

We highly recommend Margarita' Bridal. She altered my flower girl's dress and it came out beautiful. Margarita is lovely, and very accommodating. She is very accessible to questions, got the dress done quickly, and expertly! It was a wonderful experience. I also went to her to alter my wedding dress after another tailor had botched the job. She was able to work miracles and fixed the dress. I am forever grateful. If you need alterations for your special event, look no further. She is the best! read more

Honestly The worst Tailor I've ever been to. I came in just to get a hem and she quoted me 150$.... When I asked why she couldn't give me an answer. She seemed to be trying to up sell me. I'll never go back read more

Let me start off with this rating is NOT on the quality of Rita's alterations because my wedding gown fit like a glove and looked absolutely beautiful- this is on my experience. Rita was very misleading on the price and had me in tears in her shop. She initially told me $500 but did not mention that was just for part of the entire alternations so finding out your alterations on a $3000 dress is double ($1000!!!) what you thought is definitely going to be upsetting. Her whole attitude about it was a huge turn off. Also, beware she will only take the last payment in CASH not check.... which again she was very rude about. Again, she does GREAT work but is very rude and unreasonable with price. It costed me $1000 and that was after I told her to not steam it.. that was going to be another 200$... read more

I came to Margarita to get my wedding dress hemmed and she was great. Professional and helpful and took the time to make sure everything was just right and that I could walk around and go up and down steps the way I needed to. It was a bit more than I was expecting to pay for just a hemming but the dress has some beadwork on the bottom that needed to be resewn so it was understandable, and the results were perfect! read more

I took a bridesmaid dress to Margarita late last week and needed it let out and hemmed for a wedding this week (needed it today because the wedding is overseas and I'm leaving tomorrow). She was able to rush it for me and I got my final fitting today and was so happy with how it fit! She was so nice and accommodating during the whole process and I 100% recommend her to anyone who needs tailoring done. read more

I agree with other reviews. Quality is excellent however she is very very expensive. I spent $350 in alterations for one dress and $200 to hem another. When I got home one wasn't quite right. Brought it back and she wanted to charge me another $100 to barley take it in. Get a few quotes and discuss pricing before you get it done here. I ended up paying just $40 for the alteration which Rita should have done for nothing after paying her $55@ read more

Pros: her work is great. Cons: extremely expensive. Myself, my mom, and sister all needed our dresses altered for my wedding. The price of the alterations for my dress alone came to nearly half the price of the dress !! Granted I needed to have both the sides of my dress taken in, the shoulders taken in, hemmed, and bustled, and the material of the dress was delicate. However, my mother and sister both had chiffon material dresses, not as intricate, not as much alteration, and she charged extortionate price for a hem which is more than what each the dresses cost!!! I had to get a bridesmaid dress same material altered 2 years , and needed it done on the day I was leaving for the wedding; got it done at a dry cleaners right up the road on margin st for 75. Other little note that left a sour taste in my mouth my veil had a small tear in it and I didn't realize until I tried it on for my first fitting she is like oh yes yes I can fix it, then at the final fitting It was still torn and She tried placing the veil so that you couldn't see the tear. Honestly at that point all the little alterations cost so much I didn't even bring it up. Would recommend her for bridal gowns that have delicate fabric or intricate designs, but for simple dresses I'd recommend looking for other places. read more

I had an awful experience here. My bridesmaid dress was around 230 dollars and Rita wanted to charge me 455 Dollars to hem my dress take it in and add a belt and zipper. She said she would do me a favor and only charge me 400 dollars. I left and called a friend and a different places that weren't even close to what she asked me. A hem for a thin dress alone for her is 150 dollars. When I called her right after I left I told her I did not want to have my dress done there and she admitted places do it cheaper and I can pick my dress up but I need to pay her 50 dollars cash. I refused to pay her because I picked up the dress 10 minutes after I left her shop and took my dress back. She's a scam when she asks you for that 50 dollars she's just wanting money I never paid her and price gauges her customers. Don't waste your time and shop around for other tailors. read more

She was very sweet initially but my bridesmaid dress was only $175 and she wanted $291 to alter it. It only needed to be hemmed and taken in a little bit. When I called an hour later, after talking to three people who said it was far too expensive, I told her I thought it was too expensive and wanted to pick it up she charged me $50 just to get it back from her. read more

I went in for the grand opening last weekend. Rita was incredibly welcoming and kind to us. Her dresses are beautiful!
