Be careful using them as tailors. They now have a suit of mine for the 3rd time to fix a mistake…read morethey made and still can't get it right. Very sloppy work.

I got my wedding dress from a consignment shop. The bottom of it fit beautifully but the top was…read moreway too big (i.e. super giant fake boobs) so I brought it in to get the top slimmed down and better fit to my small frame and bust. Pros: - The ladies who worked here were very nice. - They've been in the business a long time. - They cleaned and pressed my dress after they were done sewing. - It cost me $125, which is pretty inexpensive. Cons: - The fit was terrible. I had them change the straps and they made them WAY too short, so the new bra cups they put in were basically at my armpits instead of my chest. - It took them three months to do this. - The shop as a whole smelled like cigarettes. My dress didn't, but I was concerned it might. - They weren't particularly receptive to my desires for the dress: I had to basically put my foot down to get the straps changed. - The sewing was pretty shoddy. There were loose threads everywhere and the stitches on my straps were visibly uneven. I ended up afraid my dress was ruined and I would have to get a whole new one with only a month until my wedding. Maybe I was a fluke customer and they generally do a great job, but I was extremely unhappy with how my dress turned out. I took my dress to Alterations by Rosa in Salem and she was shocked that they would give me a dress that had been sewn that badly. She's fixing it now and even though the price is going to be much higher, my experience there has already been a thousand times better. I'd recommend not going to this place for alterations.

Very convenient drop off and pick up, however SO SO expensive. A few cents short of $49 for 3…read moreshirts to be dry cleaned. There was no estimate or quote to be found online or in person, so I figured I'd try. But almost $50 for 3 shirts, it's a no from me. $17 each for 2 of them and 15 for the other. Ridiculous. Still marks on one shirt that wasn't as bad before I dropped off.

After not having a reason to get professional cleaning done for the last few years, I went back to…read moreAnton's expecting the same level of service and quality and value. Sadly, I was disappointed on all three counts. Service: I had not realized things had gone automated. The individual interaction is sorely missed. And even more so, now with this automated system cash is no longer an acceptable form of payment. There is no opportunity to communicate specifics about an article of clothing, which is impacting my next point. Quality: I dropped off a skirt that had no stains only to receive it back with a note saying, "we could not remove the stain". Excuse me, but there was no stain until it was in the possession of Anton's. Upon careful examination of the article of clothing the only thing that I could see that could be interpreted as a stain is an area where the fabric dye was now missing after their cleaning process. In fact, the overall color was much duller than when I had dropped it off. So much for the quality I had expected. I would have much rather received a call saying they did not know how to launder the item than get it back in lesser condition. Value: In a time when budgets are tight due to expected inflation one must consider where to spend and where to save. The cost for one skirt came to just over $17. That seems quite expensive for just one item. In fact, in many cases I could just buy a new piece of clothing. Basically. if you do not catch a coupon or limited time deal it is a huge waste of money to get something back that isn't even as good as it looked when you dropped it off. Final verdict: I will not be returning. I will either look elsewhere or take my chances with gently washing items at home. Certainly, I couldn't fade the fabric any worse.
