Horrible customer service in both the way my laundry was washed and in dealing with Troy the manager. I specifically requested one load not be put in the dryer which they did anyway despite a clear special instruction in their app and large clear print note on top of the load. They shrunk my clothes and raveled straps and set in two stains - these clothes had never seen the inside of a dryer. Troy was completely unapologetic, spoke over me and invalidated my concerns, and was patronizing. My clothes also smelled like chemicals, and they were not conscious with the drying like their website advertises. read more

I got married in June 2024. The bottom of the dress got dirty from being dragged around. My mom brought it to Nor'east Cleaners to be cleaned as they advertise themselves as one of the top wedding gown specialists on the North Shore. She picked it up last Friday and paid $280 and when she got home and noticed the issue immediately brought it back. The workers response was 'Oh, you didn't bring it in like that?'. No.... And even if we did, we brought it to be cleaned? She said a manager would be in on Monday and would call her first thing. No one did, so my mom called and the manager said she hadn't heard of the issue, but would check. She called back the following day and said it'd be soaking in their solution and would be ready by this Friday. My mom went to pick it up again and nothing had change. This time the worker said that sometimes their cleaning products don't work with expensive dresses. If this was true, wouldn't this be something they let you know BEFORE they take your dress? They said they'd give her a refund, but their check writer was out on vaca (as seemed anyone else she could talk to to get answers). That's it.... Now I'm left with a yellow dress that wasn't yellow before and Nor'east hasn't offered and applogy or a way to make things right. Very upsetting. read more

They've ruined too many items for my family. They didn't deliver on time the Tux jacket for my son even though they said they would. I had to buy another suit for him which obviously they didn't pay for it. It's waste of time to talk to the owners. They wouldn't admit and kept making stories. I haven't found a better dry cleaner. Period. The way in which they process the clothing -- clean, professional looking hangers, NO STAPLES OR SAFETY PINS through the clothes, consistent...You pay more but man oh man, come to Boston. I'd pay through the nose to get a dry cleaner as good as Nor'east. I loved the delivery service when I was living full time on Cape Ann. There was an instance where they damaged a shirt and no fuss, they immediately compensated me for it. My clothes were clean, available on time, the staff is friendly -- Nor'east is ideal for a professional who has a lot of dry cleaning and they want their clothes done right. read more

They always do a nice job. Friendly, reliable, and they use green products.

1.They lost my only expensive dress that I ever owned- and blamed me saying I picked it up months ago- then they found it months later. (happy ending, but not impressive story). 2.We did winter storage that cost almost $400 and when my partner, who has parkinsons, went to pick it up, he asked for help carrying the items to the car they responded like he was asking for the moon-and wouldn't and didn't help him! So now that summer clothes need to come out of storage I had 1 top altered and another top taking the elastic off the bottom of the top. Pair of jeans replace the zipper. NOW alterations are a 10 process I went and got my stuff on the day and time they were due. THE jeans and 1 top were done no complaints. Although the other top wasn't finished. They asked if I could come back later they were open till 6 and I said if you need another day I'll come tomorrow which I was fine with. So I called the next day to get the top picked up and they said that it's not done so it'll be Mon. And I'm like WHAT why. Well the seamstress isn't here today and tomorrow Sunday and they are closed. So other than waiting on another day I haven't had any inconsistencies and Nor'-east Cleaners seems to be up to the standards. read more

I always bring my patients clothing (I'm a home health aide) here. The staff is amazing, super nice, helpful, efficient. There is just one thing that concerns me and that is heat stroke. It is very hot in there and I know that every worker must be running around. There needs to be AC or something because just standing in there for 10 mins I was ready to chug 6 gallons of water and flipflop around in the floor like a fish out of water. Other than that, the place is amazing just might need AC in the summers for the safety of all. read more

Nor'east cleaners is by far the best dry cleaning service I've ever experienced! As soon as I walked into the East Gloucester location I was greeted with a smile and a "good morning sir, how may I help you." The store is very clean and welcoming and my clothes were ready to be picked up in a very timely manner. Since then I have downloaded their app and it makes it so easy to schedule their pickup and delivery service. The best part, the service was FREE! Their app also had exclusive coupons that helped out a lot with their already reasonable prices. I only wish that I could give more than a 5-star rating! read more

In general they do an ok job but they don't do well when it comes to apologizing for errors. For example, It's not ok to lose clothes and not apologize. It's not ok to starch clothes in spite of no starch instructions. And it's not ok to act like the customer is being unreasonable when they made the mistake. Time to start looking for alternatives... It's 2017 and I've been too lazy to find an alternative BUT dammit they're still breaking buttons. Ever try to button a shirt collar when the collar button's broken in half? It took me a while to figure that out. They break a button every tenth shirt or so and leave me a note that claims it came in that way and they fixed it for free. I would know if the button was broken when I took the shirt off. read more

I used to love Nor'East Cleaners, even when they came earlier than they said they would and I missed them. Or even when I put my dry cleaning out and they didn't see it and drove away. But I recently sent in a favorite suit coat and got it back with every single button broken. I called them and they claimed it came in like that and refused to make it right. First of all, I would never wear it in this condition. Second, how could I break all the buttons at once? Third, they're broken in such a way where just the surface is chipped - consistent with what a large flat press might do. So now, they've lost business and have this review all for not taking responsibility for $10 worth of buttons. read more

We live in NBPT and have been getting the home deliver service. I can't say enough good things about Nor'east. Friendly, punctual and they do a great job. With so much going on between work, kids, etc, it is nice to know that I don't have to remember to pick up my dry cleaning. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Great dry cleaner. They had a driver pick up and deliver my clothes on the day and time they promised. My suits are immaculate and my blouses are perfectly cleaned and pressed. I was using a different cleaners, but their cleaning service has been less than acceptable for some time. I only continued with them because they offer pick up and delivery. Terrible!! They charge women double to clean a shirt or blouse which is illegal. It's called gender based pricing.

I dropped off dress and jacket to be pressed, the jacket came back worse than when I dropped it off, it had a double crease on one sleeve, a crease down the middle of the back and wrinkles all over the front none of which were there when I dropped it off. I didn't expect to pay for more wrinkles. So dissapointed! read more

Stay away! They have ruined my favorite clothes. Don't take anything there with buttons and adornments. Each time I made sure AHEAD OF TIME TO MAKE SURE THEY DO SPECIAL TREATMENT BUT THEY DIDN'T. They don't own up to their mistakes so it's your loss - expensive and heartbreaking. Also, don't get anything mended - had a horrible experience there. read more

I've used Nor'east Cleaners twice recently, and been extremely pleased by the quality of their work. I needed fabric altered to fit a computer desk, and I brought it in and inquired if they could help me, and yup- they could! They did a great job. I also had two sweater coats that I purchased in Norway that were looking pretty worn and fuzzy. I didn't dare clean them myself, and when I showed the woman behind the counter she was very confident that they could "de-fuzz" them. Another excellent job. I'm keeping them in the plastic so they're good to go next fall. Customer service is great, and there's never any wait. The prices are excellent too. No one is going to feel ripped off using this service. My one complaint (and it's minor) is that they never call to inform when your item is done. I was fairly certain they should have called the first time, and had actually completely forgotten (err lost my ticket- I suck) when it was supposed to be finished. I checked in since I was in the area, and it was ready. I was more proactive about my coats and showed up without waiting for a call. If you go to their other Gloucester location it's really neat because it has a drive-thru attached. I may try that some time! read more

I rarely if ever write reviews and I've used these guys both here and in Manchester for years. However, the quality and attention to detail has fallen away. Pants often are returned without creases when requested and creased when specifically requested not to be there. They have literally ruined at least one dress shirt and it's really just too bad that they don't seem to care about rectifying the situation. Yes- I've contacted the manager and I've tried to get resolution via calm rational discussion...I've since opted to take my business elsewhere. read more
