The employee with black hair and glasses came across as rude toward another customer, speaking in a condescending manner and appearing to assume the customer was a scalper. Watching this interaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. When other customers tried to ask questions, the same staff member was dismissive and rolled his eyes a few times, which made the overall atmosphere feel unwelcoming. A store like this should feel fun and inviting, especially for collectors and fans who are genuinely excited to be there. That said, I want to be clear that I do like this store overall and have had positive experiences with other staff members in the past, who have always been friendly and helpful. This particular interaction stood out in an unfortunate way and left me feeling disappointed. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration and addresses the situation, because this type of behavior is not okay and takes away from what should be a positive experience.

Easy, quick and thorough resurfacing. 5 stars for the service and collaboration between two shops to help me get a problem fixed.

When I first walked in, the box was clearly marked at $359.99. I went to the counter, and to be fair, the employee was helpful and gave me a reasonable offer of $365 in store credit, which I agreed to. No issues there. But when we walked over to grab the hobby box, the price had suddenly jumped to $510.99. That's a huge difference, and it happened while I was literally in the store. When I pointed it out, I was told they were "updating prices" and that they could only honor the original price if I had taken a picture of it. That's not how you run a business. Changing prices during store hours--especially while a customer is actively making a purchase--is unprofessional and unfair. Expecting customers to take pictures of price tags just in case they change minutes later is ridiculous. I understand prices fluctuate, especially in collectibles, but updates like that should be handled before opening or after closing--not in the middle of a transaction. This experience left a bad impression, and I'd be cautious about doing business here again.

As a Noob, it could be very intimidating walking into a store full of equipment and not knowing what to get. My wife and I felt none of that, as we were helped with great service and left knowing that I'll be coming back for parts later. The indoor track and "crawl park" (if that's what it's called), was very impressive and the atmosphere was welcoming along with the patrons that were there. A Christmas Review Story…read more.. I went here to find gifts for boys ranging from 5-23yo. I came out with a perfect haul of more than just stocking stuffers. NorCal has a wide range of gifts that are hobby grade toys. They're not your typical Target/Walmart toys but a little better quality for not much more. I love the selection here. Service is key for hobby stores. NorCal excelled today as I was a little unsure how some of these hot wheels looking cars work. A man with Xmas lights necklace came out and showed how fun they can be. A 1:43 scale car can drift right out of the box! One dude started showing off a tiny RC drone, and another was busy helping a customer on RC parts. I don't know how they can staff so many people but they sure did today. Although I was expecting each gift item to be around $50 for each gift, there were some really cool micro gifts like remote control hot wheels for about $25. Last year I bought some RC warbird planes for about $100 each. I didn't see them this time around but that's ok. I want to give a proper review outside of Xmas shopping. I'll return when I'm ready to upgrade my Traxxas truck.

And lastly of course the Pg's, I don't really remember which specific Pg's I saw but I know I saw at least 2 of them in their which is very nice . Their pricing is very nice as it stays close to the original Japanese price and if not it's maybe no more than a dollar increase. I asked the owner and he mentioned Tatsu hobby as it wasn't far away. First off, this place is kind of hard to find as it is in a completely nondescript industrial complex and far back from the street. There is no way you would just be driving around and come across this place, you have to be searching for it. Also the layout of the store is weird. You first enter into a small room with a couple of display cases, (nothing you can buy I think), with a small desk and a cash register to the right. There was a small man sitting there having a conversation with a person so I wasn't quite sure what to do. My first thought was, "This is it?" But then I noticed there is another room through a open door in the back, so I proceeded through. This is where the kits actually are. The main room is pretty cramped with a few shelves of kits and a table that 3 people were sitting eating at and having nerdy discussions. I wanted to ask a question but I wasn't sure if they worked there or not. I didn't really see that there was really any sort of organization to the store other than the Gundams pretty much seem to be along the rear of the room and other types of kits are near the front. My biggest gripe is that none of the boxes have a price sticker on them. You have to ask the guy up front. Lame. And the couple of kits I asked about were priced higher than other places I normally buy from like Newtype. I'll just stick with Newtype in Union City from now on. Unfortunately they are only open M-F but they do ship and I usually get my orders in a day or two. I wouldn't bother going to Tatsu again.

My son and I have been RC customers here for nearly a year and the owner (Michael) and crew are friendly and willing. There is a good selection of popular ARRMA, Losi, Axial and Traxxas vehicles and just about every single new release is in the shop within a few days. There is a curated collection of popular race vehicles behind the counter as well as Kyosho Mini-Z and handful of more specialized brands that only enthusiast hobbyist would even know about like Xpress, MST, and Corally to name a few. There is a small selection of planes and helicopters, and I've been able to have the shop order kits that are more obscure and have it be available within a week or so. I've found the prices to be the same as what is advertised on larger online retailers like Horizon Hobby, A-Main, or Tower Hobbies; Hobby Addicts does have a loyalty program, so I do appreciate that the business understands your patronage is important to them. More importantly, every dollar spent at a local business ends up within the community, so come on out and support your local hobby shop!
