Called about a $95 flush special, left with a "you need $10,500 of work" pitch and no written…read moreestimate I responded to a "4th of July special" marketing call offering a discounted maintenance flush for my water heaters ($95 plus tax). The technician, Adrian, arrived on time and about 30 minutes into the job showed me inside the tankless unit himself and told me directly that both units were in very good condition and leak-free, with only minor scaling. He mentioned wanting to check the relief valve on the tank unit but said everything looked watertight. As he was packing up his truck, he told me the drip pan under the tank was suddenly full and appeared to be leaking -- a condition he said wasn't there when he started. He called his supervisor, Dennis, and I listened in. On that call, Adrian told Dennis he saw no visible leaks on the supply lines and heard no sound of steam contact with the heating element -- no real evidence of an internal failure. Despite that, Dennis showed up, was dismissive about the timing, and pulled up a "silver/gold/platinum" pricing menu on his phone quoting me $4,700 to $10,500 for a replacement -- with a warning that the tank could otherwise "rupture" and flood my house. He never gave me a written or emailed estimate, only showed it to me on his device. When I pushed back on why I wasn't warned a routine flush could cause this, he had no real answer. I got a second opinion from my own plumber and ended up buying a comparable replacement tank myself for roughly half of what Dennis quoted. I've called the office twice since then asking for a supervisor callback -- both times told they were "at lunch" -- I followed with a letter and it's been over 3 business days with no response. Maybe the timing is coincidental. But a service that's supposed to just clear out sediment doesn't usually end with the technician finding a "sudden" leak minutes before he's back in his truck, followed immediately by a five-figure sales pitch with no paperwork. I'd think hard before booking a "special" with this company, and I'd ask for everything in writing before you let anyone touch your water heater. I previously used Bob Jenson to replace my home's HVAC system at a cost of $45,000. Same tactics - avoid this company and get a second bid before doing anything.

But it's really rare (in my experience) when a service company not only exceeds every expectation but continues to year after year. Krystal is incredible and her attention to follow up and personal communication is the best I've experienced. My system is not new but we did have a new Ecobee thermostat installed a few years back. Huge fan of this company and I'd recommend to anyone! They installed it easily and works (worked haha) perfectly until we had an accident in the attic (by no fault of theirs) that damaged the wire leading to the thermostat. Billy shot right over and diagnosed the issue due to his electrical smarts (and that he can fit up in my attic the size of a mouse trap). Sorry Billy. With old houses and older units, like ours, sometimes rewiring can be really difficult and many times not the best solution. Which was the case in our situation. Instead, the best fix for the wiring issue, was no wiring at all. Thank you technology! Billy suggested installing a wireless remote transmitter on the furnace that could talk to my favorite Ecobee thermostat. Simple solution to an old house problem. The system is up working properly now and it was all done quickly and with no stress. How many times can you say that with a non functioning system in an old house! From the techs and their attention to detail and Krystal and her epic work and customer support, they have my business for life. I Had Hani GORGIS company install a mini split. When I started using it, it continued to burn out…read morethe outlets because he spliced an ext. cord to connect instead of connecting to my breaker box. I'm not a licensed electrician nor have any knowledge of how this job is suppose to be completed. So after having another electrician look at the job he was shocked to see the fire hazard of how it was connected for power. And mentioned how it was supposed to be connected to the breaker box. And to call them back in to complete the installation job correctly. I was to provide the materials and the technician, Najah Gorgis, was to install the mini split. but instead of explaining what he might need to connect the mini split to the breaker box (which the other electrician who advised me said was suppose to happen) Najah Gorgis asked for an extension cord and wired the unit together hap hazard resulting in outlets burning up when plugged in and causing a potential fire rather than letting me know if additional materials were needed to connect to the breaker box like it's suppose to be. Because of my lack of knowledge in this field, I'm still not sure what all was needed to do the job correctly & safely, but for the record the mini split is only 8 feet from the breaker box and would have gladly ordered or picked up whatever was needed. So in short, if you're looking for a job to be done correctly and safe, these aren't the guys. They don't have your back and will put you at risk for a fire nor will they tell you what is needed to do the job correctly. When I called them back they asked for double the amount of money initially paid for the installation to correct the problem. I'm a single woman and a disabled veteran and it's hard enough surviving in San Diego but I suppose It's a hustle and I fell in it. So not AC for the summer. Choose a better company than these guys if you want a job done safe and correct.
