He didn't pressure me at all but recommended that I do it now because if I didn't, they would likely be back again soon to repair another leak. He gave me a good price and didn't charge extra for the original reason they came to my house, a leak in the shower pipe. His team showed up at 7 am and completed the entire house by about 6 pm. They replaced all the copper pipes with PEX piping, replaced all the shower/bathtub valves with new posi-temp valves, new handles and escutcheons, new pressure and shut off valves, new angle stops, and they replaced the washer/dryer and refrigerator cut out boxes. Instead of installing the pipes the easier way, through the attic, they routed them in a more efficient way which made them less obtrusive in the garage and supplied hot water much quicker to the faucets. They wrapped all the exposed pipes in the garage with insulation. They worked with me to minimize necessary cuts in the dry wall and stucco. His team repaired and retextured all their cuts, but paint matching and touchup was left to me. They even retextured my whole 1/2 bath that was terribly textured by me several years ago. Nathan's team was very professional and respectful of any of our concerns; they asked me to do two walk-throughs when they were done. First, to check the plumbing, and then to check the drywall repairs. It's a good thing they came because Nathan found a fourth leak in the ceiling while doing demo. Who knows how long it might have leaked before we became aware of it. I highly recommend Plumbing 101.

Like in our case where it was backing up in our showers, tubs and toilets. Well nothing says "Sleep well" like a plumbing emergency at 10pm on a Sunday. We did our "We can fix it with a little YouTube" try only to realize we couldn't find our clean out that didn't exist. In a "what about our morning poo?!" frenzy, we called one of those well-known corporate places and they had someone out at 9am the next day. Now we got great customer service, but we also got a ridiculous price tag for what turned out to be a need for a complete new pipe system (thank you 1950s cast iron). The other place was outrageous enough in pricing that we were willing to swallow a few Imodium or just get out the kitty litter to get some other quotes. Enter our longtime landscaper to the rescue! He told us about these guys and they were on it for almost 1/2 the price, fantastic customer service, knowledgeable and friendly employees and hardworking! We couldn't be happier with everything they've done and the way they treated us (two women where one used to be a building inspector ) with respect. They truly went above and beyond and we already recommend them to a neighbor with the job literally just finishing today. Unfortunately, Rheem couldn't provide a replacement and instead offered fair market compensation (still TBD). I called WHO around 5 a.m. and they had an overnight messaging service person who took all my info and let me know that I would get a call after 7 a.m. Around 7 a.m. I got a call and was able to set up a same day appointment. The folks on the phone were nice enough and professional. I was thrilled that someone would be coming out soon. We were alerted via text when our technician, Francisco, was on his way and he called to let us know when he would be arriving. Around 10 a.m. he was onsite and ready to assess the issue and give us a quote. They say free estimate, but I`m sure they still charge a service fee if you don`t end up agreeing to the quote. We agreed to the quote even though we didn`t want to( I mean..who WANTS to pay for a new water heater? haha). Anyway, Francisco explained all the parts and labor involved and was very informative about what each component was for and why, which we appreciated. Estimate signed and away we go. Francisco worked quickly and efficiently. By 2 p.m. we had a new water heater and the tech was cleaning up and ready to go. The job was quicker than we thought, which was great, and even though he said to give the water about an hour to heat, we tested it before and we got nice, hot water quickly. The new unit looks so fresh and new and everything went well. We were given a 2 year labor warranty, so that is a nice assurance. All in all, a great experience. I do want to go over pricing because while every scenario is different, I like to be transparent. A lot of people will say, "This is what I was quoted for XYZ" or "I ended up paying such and such amount less than other companies". We had an old unit(about 25 years old), we live in an upstairs condo unit and our water heater is on the balcony in a closer(location of the unit is all considered when quoting). We needed a new water heater(40 gallons), obviously, some new piping(portions, not full), a drip pan, some other bits and bobs(that weren't that expensive) and you are paying for the labor and expertise of the tech). We ended up with a $3000 bill for this service. AGAIN, every situation is different, but I do like to give the Yelp community a run down of my situation and pricing so that they can make informed decisions. As mentioned above, a great experience and we are back up and running with our hot water. I will update if anything significant happens.
