I called Quality Rooter and Plumbing for a spigot leak in the front yard. I have used them a couple of times and did not have any issues. They answered and came out a couple days later per our appointment. The guy looked at the issue and said it might take some digging and a little time. I said of course not a problem. He took a couple of pictures and said he would call me the next day or following day to come out and fix it because they were working on a big SDG&E project. I thanked him for coming out. My Dad was a plumber so I know more than the average "girl". Invoice is a blanket invoice with hourly billing for a lot. Up charges for every piece of equipment and all work done. Really shameful actually when if they spent their time and energy in being honest about things it would come back to them tenfold but I am used to someone doing work and saying things like hey I just wanted to touch base because I got all set up and snaked X but it's not clearing so I got the longer snake and it's still difficult but maybe this isn't your responsibility anymore at this length and it belongs to the HOA etc. Or the toilet is clear but the sink is still slow probably just needs one of those sticks you buy at the hardware store and get a little hair and soap scum out. I would avoid them if you can. The woman who works their scheduling (Erica, I believe) was disrespectful over the phone. I had no idea why she was calling in the first place to schedule a plumber appointment and when I asked questions, she became irritated. Then, she insisted on a time that didn't work for us and when I said I would need to talk to our maintenance, she asked for our maintenance contact info. When I spoke with our maintenance over the phone, they actually explained the situation and said she would call again to schedule, they were unaware of any appointment that was confirmed. She called them to "schedule an appointment" without letting us know, I never heard from her again until sure enough, a plumber showed up at our doorstep one morning at 9 am, surprise. Erica called me to tell me to let them in, when I told her I didn't know anyone was coming, I wasn't at all surprised when I was met with a disrespectful attitude again. After being made to feel stupid, I got off the phone and grabbed my toddler and let the plumber know right now wasn't a good time and I was actually just on my way out the door, he then guilted me with how "I would be inconveniencing everyone if I didn't stay" When I said this wasn't my fault, he then pressured me with "can we stay without you" which I said I wasn't comfortable with that he then asked if he could come in anyways to take a look. Thirty minutes of debating later (in which I apologized multiple times despite nothing being my fault and not one person apologized to me) I was able to head where I was going while the plumber started the work in the upstairs unit. I was back just in time for them to start inside our unit. Bottom line, I was treated like an idiot over the phone and then two male plumbers that showed up made me feel uncomfortable and belittled when I was just trying to take my toddler somewhere. read more

The entire team was super professional and respectful. Then I started to use Quality at my home and rental property. Once again, amazing work, very helpful, very reasonable. I could get in touch with them 24/7. They have come out on a Sunday to clear a drain for $100, they have done bigger jobs where I needed pipes replaced and similar. My review is just for a sewage inspection for buying a house. They were referred to me by my home inspector. I called them in the morning and they were able to come out later that same day. Eric and Joe allowed me to look on as they video inspected the sewer system, and when it was done took me through step by step how this particular sewage system worked (the house is on a huge hill), where all the clean-outs were, and what to look for if problems were to happen. Price for the inspection was 230, it seemed in line with competitors, and for a rush job was very appropriate. Would hire again for further work. read more

So dissatisfied and disappointed in the service. They were at my building doing the verticles and my bathroom.sink became clogged. Probably due to them pushing the stuff down through the pipes. When they told to call my hoa to have Quality bring in another plumber to fix it. So I call my hoa and they tell me to call quality so I go ahead and call them and they tell me it's after 330 we are on overtime now. I go ahead and tell the woman taking the call that they are still working in the building I am not sure how that is overime. She was beyond rude and I complained that the owner is also just as rude. She tells me I am the one with the problem! I am not an unreasonable person. I have had many dealings with Quality and every time the owner is involved it becomes a negative experience. Quality Rooter services the building (1650 8th Ave) my wife and I live in, and for various reasons pertaining to the building's aged plumbing, we've had to call management for a plumber a couple of times resulting in two or three service calls in our unit by Quality Rooter personnel. Whatever my disagreements with building management and other tenants, the Rooter personnel dispatched to my unit have each been awesome. Most importantly, they fixed the problem pronto. Further, all Rooter staff have been courteous, professional, and genuine (in particular a plumber / handyman named Eric--ask for him, what a gentleman). I don't know what happened with Grace V's bad review, but my experience with Quality Rooter has been great. If and when I move elsewhere, I'm calling Rooter first if a plumbing issue arises.
