I've relied on Matrix Plumbing & Services for three jobs at my house, including a water heater replacement. In every case they were on time, friendly, honest, and did excellent work. Most recently I had a leak in the main water line into my home. Bruce and Phil came out and did an excellent job of finding the leak and giving me an honest set of options to fix the problem. They fixed the problem and were able to leave everything clean and tidy (which was quite an accomplishment seeing how much dirt they had to dig up). Didn't realize how badly I got ripped off until I had another plumbing company out and do the work for half the price. I'll explain... I had a big leak from my water valve under my sink. I turned off the water to my building, Called around a few places, Matrix had the shortest wait time, so I went with them. Ricky came out and said it would be $250 (plus parts) to change out the valve due to "liability". I thought this was normal, so I had him replace it. He noticed the other valve was broken, so another $250 plus parts. $519 later, he wouldn't even turn the water back on due "liability" again. Today, I had another plumbing company come out to replace two other valves. The technician did the work in about 20 minutes. He said he had to charge for the full hour, and wanted to know if there is anything else he wanted me to do. I had change out two other valves just to be safe. So for him to change out 4 valves, with parts, the total came to $251. He was even nice to turn the water back on! read more

I am very disappointed in this company for several reasons. My brother called this company when I was out of town due to a copper pipe pinhole leak in the bedroom ceiling. When I arrived home, 2 days after leak, the furniture was packed in my small computer room and in the bathroom. Nails and screws were scattered in many places on the floor, white drywall was on the on the bathroom floor, wood floors on steps and downstairs, and frondoor concrete. This has destroyed my wood floors. The workers also broke my celing fan. The cost for this service (Remove celing drywall, remove bedroom furniture, detach carpet to apply fan blowers) $$ 5,057.83 Excessive cost. This is one reason home owners insurance is so high. Was told by Robertson Plumbing that I had a problem with my main line (even though nothing was backing up). He contacted his buddy Rick to come out and put a camera down the main line to have a look. I looked on as they did this. Interesting thing that I found out a day later was that Rick looked at a plumbing issue at my brother's house. The initial response since his camera was BROKEN was to bust open their walls to find out what was going on. Glad my brother called for a second opinion since his problem was solved by snaking the line. Back to my problem...Rick and Robertson Plumbing said they need to trench inside my house, from one end to the other and replace the main line based on what they saw on the camera that suddenly worked. They said the line couldn't be sleeved or washed out because it was too brittle and could crumble if we went that route. They said that they would need to take out the vinyl flooring, remove drywall and that this would take approximately two weeks to complete the job. After an insane quote of approximately $30,000, we obviously got a second and third opinion. Both of those companies allowed me to watch as they put the camera down the line. First off, what I saw on their cameras (which turned out to be a very good thing) looked nothing like what I saw from Rick's camera. BOTH COMPANIES SAID I HAD NO ISSUES OR DAMAGE TO MY MAIN LINE! Yes, it is a 60 year old cast iron pipe. Both companies provided us with guidance to be proactive and preventative with the old aged pipe and it was nothing remotely close to $30,000! Do your research and get several quotes when thinking about getting work done by Matrix plumbing. read more

If you're calling a plumber, make it Matrix and your problems will be solved the first time around and FAST! This review comes after the second time I had Ricky out for two different issues. Both times he answered his phone and was there within hours and handled the issue like the pro he is. My first issue I had 2 other plumbers out over a fog horn noise in my garage when water was in use. The other plumbers were more concerned about time than my issue. Ricky discussed the issue, trouble shot and we agreed that it was the softener bypass valve. After 5 trips and an argument with the softener company (Rayne) he was right. The second time I called Ricky was 2 days before the close of escrow on the sale of the house. Sewer line clog. I called Ricky at 4:00 on Friday and he was at my house by 5. He snaked the drain and found a wad of paper towels probably stuffed down the toilet during an open house. Not only was he there like he was just down the street, he handled the whole issue in less than 30 minutes and I didn't need to take out a loan to pay him. This is what service is all about. I had yet another unfortunate issue at my new (yet very old) home recently. This time it involved a stoppage in my bathtub and toilet. It was a critical issue that needed to be solved ASAP! Matrix plumbing was called out to fix a leak I had under my house foundation. They isolated the area, recommended to remove a fire hazard water heater and did a small investigation into a wall next to the water heater for any leaks. After replacing the water heater, which they did a magnificent job, cleaned up the area and Miguel took his time to do a wonderful job. We have a chronic problem with our mainline due to a bad remodel job a few years ago. We have a low spot (belly) in the mainline so about once a year, it gets sluggish and we have to have someone come out and clean it out for us.
