We hired Luis to renovate our bathroom back in January. He was always very pleasant and accommodating but from the beginning his work was very slow. He brought in different people to work but they only seemed to work 3-4 hours per day. Luis seemed very disorganized as he often would show up very late or not at all and was quite distracted while he was working. After the second month had gone by and tile work hadn't started, we began to convey our frustrations. Luis hired his cousin Eligio to install the tile and perform additional work. The floor tile went in first and it looks good, but halfway through the shower tiling is when the quality problems began. One morning I went to the garage and the inside was covered in tile dust. Eligio was cutting tiles in our garage with our car and our neighbor's car. We had to pay for carwashes. The tile saw was close the car he scratched the car with a tile. Luis said he would take care of the scratch but never did. The bottom half of the shower's tiles are aligned and even, but most all of the top half of the tiles are misaligned and uneven to the point where Luis agreed it was unacceptable. The corners where tiles meet should be trimmed out with tile trim, but it most cases they did not install the trim, which leaves the raw tile edge exposed. He blamed his cousin for the previous delays and poor tiling and promised to get another tiler to correct the work. He never did. Toward the end of our experience with Luis we had visitors and gave Luis the week off, which he appreciated because he was working too many jobs at once. He also took the following week off which was not agreed upon. The week after that he said he could come Wednesday and that's when all of our patience was exhausted. We told him this was unacceptable and we needed him full-time until the job was complete. We never heard from him again after several amicable attempts to re-engage him. Luis left this bathroom renovation about ¾ complete and forced us to pay another contractor to finish the remaining tasks including: connect power outlets to the exposed wires, install shelving, install fixtures, move a recessed ceiling light, install exhaust fan, install molding, hang mirrors, and repair a drywall hole. read more

Luis and his partner were fabulous to work with from start to finish! McElite was very responsive to my initial asks and worked with my building (high rise) on their COI and everything leading up to my project. They replaced all of my valves (old for new ones), replaced a toilet, faucet, and garbage disposal! Leading up to the day of, Luis even sent me pictures to make sure I had everything needed and even ran to a hardware store nearby to get one other item (a bolt broke off he wanted to replace). Luis was operating as MC Elite a few months ago with a different phone number. I would not recommend him for any large type of repair. The details are boring, but after numerous delays and over a month and a half of very slow progress on a shower rehab, the work basically stopped (this was a couple weeks after I was told the work would be done). There were excuses about sickness and not being able to get any help, but it was just too much and then he became unresponsive. This was all after paying him over $10k. We had to pay extra to get another contractor to do the work - they finished completely in 4 days (and were very professional in terms to the mess they didn't make - they even cleaned up after Luis.) If you do use him -disregarding numerous similar bad reviews-, don't pay more than half until the job is completely done! read more

Luis was very quick and responsive to my first plumbing issue. He came to replace my faucet sink which he did and laid out the invoice and cost for me which I liked. I soon after had a clog in my sink so had asked him to come out and fix it. I had a set appointment and when the time came I txted and called and no answer at first. 30 mins later he called back and said they thought my appointment at earlier that day and would try to get someone out asap. Some time went by and heard nothing. I tried reaching out again to see what was going on and nothing. I don't appreciate this unprofessionalism when someone needs your assistance. read more

I was in contact with Luis to fix an issue with my sink's water pressure. Luis rescheduled his services with me due to an emergency which is understandable. We rescheduled for a Friday. No contact on Friday at all. I sent a message asking where he was our designated time, and he said that he got covid. I asked him why he couldn't contact me before hand, and he said that he was "Sorry been trying to reschedule and get to everyone it's been a very long process I do apologize." He charged us a flat rate which is great because it saved me the hassle of worrying about hourly rates or dispatch fees etc. Luis and his partner were knowledgeable and great at troubleshooting issues. They first started with sink removal, dry-fitting the new sink, then went to Home Depot to pick up any necessary supplies. They were friendly and organized with receipts and invoicing. They stayed around after the installation to ensure there was no leak in the pipes, which there was due to an old pipe, so they spent another hour finetuning and even went back to Home Depot for another hardware. Good value, accommodating, quick to respond.

Initially when I reached out about my toilet continuously running, Luis was very responsive and was at my house within a day to take a look at it. He was able to fix it. I then had him come out again to check all the fixtures because I kept getting a letter from the utility company saying water was continuously running. I called the water company and they told me they needed a plumber to write a letter saying everything had been checked and they didn't see water running so I had Luis do a full inspection in preparation to write a letter for the water company. He came over, checked everything, asked me to take a few photos/ video of the water meter and then told me he would prepare a letter for me. I paid him $125 for the inspection. I sent the photos and am now am going on over two weeks of reaching out to him and he's been completely unresponsive. I had such a positive experience the first time, that this is really unfortunate. I planned to continue to use this business. I have texted and called multiple times asking for the letter. He has simply stopped responding and now I can't get my money back.
