My 38th Birthday recently passed and I was treated to a skin tightening treatment at the Fix Laser & Skin Center in Glendale. I was a hesitant at first because I'm not one of those men who does spas and facials. But since it was a birthday gift, I relented and made the drive over. Th location was initially difficult to locate due to the fact that the suite is downstairs and covered by a balcony. Thankfully there was a sign visible from the street indicating the business was there. Parking was accessible via the top deck of the property structure. Unfortunately the elevator was out of service the day I went and I took the stairs down with my grandmother who accompanied me on this visit. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist who checked me in and had me begin the standard forms. The documents were completed on an iPad which should have made the process more streamlined, but I found it to be more difficult due to the screen size and my big fingers lol. After completing the forms, I was introduced to Anna, the technician who would be operating the laser for my treatment. Anna was very nice and lead me to the room where before and after photos are taken. Who doesn't love a good selfie! So on to the treatment. The room was small but comfortable. The bed was set up for me next to the laser machine. Anna had me lay down while she covered my eyes with medical gauze and goggles. Now the treatment I would be receiving was for facial skin tightening and full disclosure...the majority of my face is covered in a beard. I had been told ahead of time that they preferred that I shave so that more of my face could receive the laser treatment, but that was a hard no from me. So thankfully I was told they could work around my beard and focus on my forehead, cheeks, and neck. Anna started up the machine and informed me there would be a little pain from the laser but that it was adjusted to my body heat. Anna started on my forehead and the pain was very minimal with no discomfort at all. It was actually very soothing. As she moved to my cheeks and neck line I did experience some minor pain as the laser occasionally hit some hair. Anna informed me that if I come again, to shave those areas the night before as opposed to the day of the treatment. The entire procedure only took about 10 minutes. When it was done, Anna gave me some hydrocortisone and some sunblock to wear. She also gave me instructions on how to care for my skin following the treatment. I returned back to the lobby where my grandmother was waiting and conversing with the very kind staff. I thanked everyone and asked more about the treatment. Anna informed me that the treatment stimulates collagen production and leads to skin tightening. I would need to return 5 more times, once a month for a total of 6 treatments and the results would be good for 2 years. Overall I was very satisfied with my visit. The staff was very kind and helpful. The facility is clean and organized with plenty of informational pamphlets available. When I mentioned this to the technician during my last appointment she said we could discuss it another time. I also moved and still had two sessions on my account that I had purchased before. As life goes, being proactive is the way to go rather than damage control! When I was lucky to come across Fix Laser & Skin Center, I intrigued by the golden anti-aging treatment face and neck laser. No downtime whatsoever. Check in was easy, went through a bunch of forms on the iPad - all standard stuff. I showed up 10mins early to take care of the paperwork and was warmly welcomed at my appointment time by Anna who is a licensed nurse. Anna was super sweet and it being my first time with anything laser, explained the whole procedure and what to expect. Used some wet wipes to wipe off any make up or lotion off my face, and I was laying down comfortably with eye protection on. As a first timer, I was surprised how gentle the procedure was with laser involved. It was like a warm wand moving over my face. And quite relaxing actually. The procedure was done smoothly within 10mins and since I barely had any redness, I just put on some sunscreen lotion for protection and didn't need the anti-itch cream. Laser skin tightening treatment was great. You feel a warm sensation on your skin and it doesn't hurt much. Was given sunscreen to apply after and was asked not to wear makeup for about 24 hrs proceeding the treatment. A little redness at first, but my skin definitely felt better the morning after. The prices are more on the affordable side compare to other places I've researched. Their two popular treatments are the laser hair removal and the laser anti aging face and neck treatment. Their website is super informative. During the appointment, the nurse will give a consultation and give instructions to pre and post care. Of course, you have to come clean with a clean shave. I'll recommend numbing cream, which you have to apply an hour before the appointment. The treatment was really quick. I was in and out in 10 mins. After the treatment, the hair grew like normal. It was in the second week when I start seeing the hair falling off and notice the difference. The only difficulty I had was finding the location. The place is hidden inside a plaza and easy to miss. Look for the intersection of Oceanview Blvd and Broadview Dr. They have their own parking spots for their customers, but there are free parking all around. All of the nurses were dolls, but Jen is the nurse that helped me, and she was such a sweetheart! Other laser places want you on a low level because they want you to pay more money and buy numerous sessions. Hence, it'll take much longer to see results... Fix wants you to get the best results possible and they are very thorough! Yes, you should still buy packages for touch ups, but you'll see incredible results about 2 weeks after the hair falls out. I personally love Pauline (She is from Poland) It was my first time having her as a technician. She was very professional, she pays attention to detail and never rushed me out of there. She listens and asked me questions. She asked why I wanted the laser level higher, I expressed that I get a better result. She then adjusted to my needs and tested an area before proceeding. I purchased a Groupon for underarm laser treatments and I have to say Anahit is an amazing nurse! She scared away my hair follicles, I haven't had hair growth in forever! (Laser hair removal doesn't always permanently get rid of hair, but it does largely reduce it and I am happy to say my underarm hair is no more!) I have absolutely no pain tolerance but they have little hearts I squish during my session to help distract from the pain. For Anahit, I will always come back. However, the prices are too expensive per session and even their "specials" are barely discounted. Looking at competitors, they are way too overpriced and it is discouraging knowing that there are more affordable places. Anahit definitely saves the business because of her professionalism, but I am not in love with Fix. They seem nonchalant and don't really care to have me there. At Fix Laser & Skin Center, I tried out skin tightening for the first time. From what I read, they use a laser that gently heats cells underneath the skin to promote new collagen growth that tightens and makes your skin smoother. The office was nice, clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly. I registered and completed forms on a tablet and had a cup of coffee from their coffee maker while I waited in the waiting room. The treatment was done by a registered nurse, who had worked there for several years and even more as a nurse. All the nurses work under the doctor, who is a medical director at a medical center, so I felt at ease and believed I was in good hands. The laser felt like pulling a rubber band on my skin, and that's not painful. It was over before I knew it (less than half an hour, but I forgot to note the time). I was given hydrocortisone and sunblock and was told to shower in warm water for a few days. I'm glad I was able to sample this procedure since I'm not getting any younger. As promised, I am granting Fix Wellness a fifth star! After a mere 30-minute drive from WLA, I arrived early and pulled into one of their reserved spaces for my 2nd laser appointment out of the 5-series Yelp deal package I bought ($97). I signed in and was greeted warmly by the doctor, and then sat in the waiting room for about ten minutes. Ana came to call me before my appointment time, and took me to one of the treatment rooms. She asked me how I felt after my last (first) appointment, and I was happy to report: Just as she predicted, I did shave a little within the first week after my first laser treatment. After about 10 days however, I noticed that I didn't need to shave - because my hair WAS INDEED falling out like she said it would. By the time I came in today, I haven't had to shave but maybe once in a 2-week period - and only in a few spots just because I'm being picky. Since I had good things to report, she asked if I wanted to crank the laser up a notch. I said sure, she handed me a stress ball to mash (LOL, it did help) and within 10 minutes, she was done. Even with the laser cranked up, I could tell that I had less painful areas - because I had less hair to laser. There were still some painful areas, but the hydrocortisone cream Ana gave me soothed the area, and as I write this (12 hours later), my skin feels like nothing at all went on differently. Ana recommended that I make my next appointment in 5-6 weeks, but since it falls on Thanksgiving I might go 7 weeks. This laser hair removal story is a success!! My only regret is that I didn't get more than one Yelp deal, so I could laser more than one area. Lesson learned : D read more

This place is so wrong for so many reasons. The staff is wildly unprofessional. From the subject matter they discuss while behind the desk to the bizarre customer "service," I just don't know where to begin. The laser technicians are tremendous, however, and are the only real reason to go back. THE LASERS: WOW....waaaay more painful than my previous treatments at a different local laser treatment center. They definitely use different lasers here than I am used to; these have air that blows out while they zap away. They are effective, though. I'm not going to discredit them at all in that regard, I just don't understand why these specific lasers hurt so much more and delivered the same result? THE NURSES: They are funny, kind and tell you what's up! They really do a great job and are quick and charming. They answer all your questions up front and make you feel at ease. THE FRONT DESK: Just soooo bizarre. THey'll text you a time, you show up at that time and then tell you that your appointment was a different time, even though you have the text they sent in your hand! I have shown up early, to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time while others who came after my appointment time (with the same nurse) got treated before me. The level of professionalism is almost nonexistent even with the guy who runs the place. Keep your personal matters to yourself...oh, and don't be rude to customers in front of other customers. The last trip was the only visit where nothing was suspect with the front desk, so maybe they tightened up their rules since my previous visit. THE WAITING ROOM: Not cozy at all. A couple of times it was in need of some attention (translation: tidy it up!) It's OK if your alone, but it's just akward. OVERALL: After the treatments I paid for were up, I've decided that for my future laser needs, I will not be coming back here again. This place is honest, clean, and helpful. When I call them, I always get a return call immediately and most of all, I TRUST them. Needless to say, I've had some bad experiences at other laser hair removal places. This place also does photofacials and the cookie diet. The doctor gave us a cookie to try. She's very thorough and asked me about pain tolerance because she was increasing the level. Everyone varies, but for me the middle part hurt but she kept asking me if I'm okay which is nice and comforting. The front desk is sweet too, I didn't get her name. This is my official laser spot! I've done evvvverything here! I discovered them through Groupon but then have continued going. They have birthday specials and I love that you can buy more than one Groupon to use here (it's not new clients only like many other Groupon offers). They also have in-salon all the time. Most of the time, I've had great experiences. The few times I did not, I contacted the owner who helped me - either by crediting the botched laser appt. or extending and expiration date. Remember to check the expiration dates when buying a Groupon to make sure you can use all your sessions in the time frame. Also, aside from packages for certain areas, you can get 10 minute ($60) or 15 min ($80) sessions to do touch ups on any and all parts you can fit in the session. These are a necessity to maintain results after treatment. I LOVE that I never even have to think about shaving anymore! Once or twice a month after a full 8-12 treatments on an area has been enough for me to maintain! The staff turn around seems high. I've been coming here for almost four years and a few times I've really liked my technician and requested then on future appointments only to find out they no longer work there. So it has seemed hard to stick with one person. But based on my average experience with the staff, going with anyone is fine. No long waits and it's usually easy to get an appointment. Other than the very first appointment, each visit here has lasted less than 10 minutes. They are professional, quick, and efficient. I also really love that they have Modern Family playing for you in the waiting room, with different flavors of coffee/tea for you to drink while you wait. I would definitely go back again after my 6 treatments are up. I saw Dr. Voskanian yesterday and he was AMAZING! I went in there thinking that I was going to get isolaz and he said that I didn't have severe enough acne to be a candidate. I read some of the reviews on here before I went to "Fix Laser & Skin Center" and many of the reviews said that the staff try to "upsell" you on something that you do not need. I can say that this was further from the truth for me. The doctor prescribed me some medication to get my skin under control and I bought their "acne kit" because you can use the $80 from the consultation fee towards any products or services. I can't tell you if I am cured yet since I just saw the doctor yesterday. But, will definitely keep you posted. read more

I came in for a laser skin tightening treatment and it was excellent. I rarely get facials so I did not know what it involved. I mentioned it to some friends and they were all about it. I came in early and the receptionist was very friendly, and my nurse was excellent. If you're like me and don't know what laser skin tightening is, it's basically what the name says. The laser is meant to stimulate your face so that it can produce collagen. The laser doesn't burn, it just fells warm, and it fells like something is gently poking you. It takes about 20 min and you're done. Super easy, just be careful with the sun and you have to wear sunscreen. This place offers other services like hair removal and weight loss. I really, really liked The Fix Laser and Skin Center. The entire staff accommodated me perfectly, and were kind and informative about the treatment I was about to receive. Anna, my nurse, made sure to evaluate my eligibility for the laser treatment by asking some simple questions in regards to my medical past and previous laser treatments I might have received. She then guided me through a painless session of Skin Tightening. If you've never done it before (such as myself), I can best describe it as warm/hot raindrops dripping on your face. I honestly enjoyed the experience and found it relaxing. I showed no side effects whatsoever after the treatment. Does it work? The website will tell you that you'll need about 6 treatments to see a visible result, however, the day after my treatment my skin felt tighter than before. On that note... I might come back sooner than later :) Parking can be tough, as you have to go down a tiny ramp that's not clearly indicated. The only thing I would personally have appreciated more is a zinq based SPF instead of the CVS based brand that tends to clog pores. Otherwise, this place is truly a gem!! read more
