I wanted to try their abalone poke that I saw in a youtube video but they didn't have it anymore. As a result, I decided to try a combination plate with half sweet yuzu glaze ahi and half spicy mayo salmon. This place did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and it literally melted in your mouth. As a yuzu fan, I really liked the yuzu flavored ahi. It was a very unique flavor. Thumbs up!
Five Star is a quaint yet tasty food truck located in Waikiki. There's not much parking nearby so walking would probably be your best bet. We got the salmon yuzu poke and it was really yummy and tangy! The only complaint is the amount of rice doesn't complement the little amount of protein you get. Regardless, extremely tasty! Would recommend visiting.
Five Star Poke is located in the heart of Waikiki in a small lot of food trucks. They offer different kinds of poke in different sizes: regular (1 scoop of fish), combo (2 scoops), and large (3 scoops). We ordered the combo ($17.95) and for our two scoops of fish we got the ginger scallion miso ahi and ginger scallion miso salmon. I've never had ginger scallion in poke before so I wanted to try it out. They definitely had strong flavors of ginger and scallion which was unique and weird at first but tasty. Also, the fish was very fresh and so soft! If you're staying in the area I'd definitely stop by to try a kind of poke you don't see often.
They got me. It's five stars. It's a small food truck toward the back of a turf plaza, but don't let that fool you. With fresh fish and unique sauce combinations, you'll be able to get the amazing classics and some more intriguing, boutique flavors. I got a large bowl (free seaweed salad!) with garlic shoyu seared salmon and yuzu citrus chili pepper ahi. The tanginess of the yuzu was a neat twist on classic poke sauces (unfortunately a smidge sour for my taste), but the seared salmon was super tasty and really emphasized the quality of the fish. The tuna was also equally as fresh. Really happy that I stumbled over this food truck :)
Oh my goshhhhh! We came back and were so satisfied!! The poke is so fresh and the seasoning is so good! We got the yuzu pepper which was and the shoyu seasoning! It was only $23! And I saw only because poke for lesser quality in WA is about 30! The owner was so kind!
Their salmon poke is pretty good and fresh. Although I preferred the rice to be on the cooler side (temperature) because their was hot white rice (not vinegared).
This place is convenient for tourists staying in Waikiki as it's walking distance to a lot of hotels. It's a food truck located on a lot with about 4-5 other establishments so there's a small seating area. There's not much parking nearby so I just had my bf drop me off while he waited on the side street. I ordered the 3 choice poke with spicy mayo ahi, fresh jalapeño salmon, and yuzu citrus chili pepper. The ahi was fresh but I wasn't really impressed with the flavors of the poke. The spicy mayo was decent, you can't really go wrong with that. I wouldn't recommend the fresh jalapeño salmon there seems to be no seasoning on it besides the diced jalapeño so it was very bland. The yuzu citrus chili flavor was tasty but very mild. Either it wasn't mixed well or they didn't use enough sauce. I wouldn't recommend coming during peak hours. The employee was really nice and friendly but she was the only one working. I ordered 3 bowls and it took about 10-15 min because she had to stop to take orders since a line formed while she was prepping. I'd come again to try other flavors if I'm ever in the area but I wouldn't drive out just for it.
Poke truck in a cluster of other trucks on kapuni but there's ample bench seating everywhere! Flavors make local style so that was appreciated! Did i mention the cute takeout box art?
Yummy poke in a cute food truck area. Fish was fresh and tasty. I wish we could've gotten more toppings/been able to pick them.
Such a fun little food spot right by Waikiki. It's an outdoor area with four different food huts, and the first challenge is just choosing which one to try because everything smells amazing. There are picnic tables in the middle, and each hut has bright, colorful painted siding that gives the whole place a cool, laid-back vibe. Bonus: if you're lucky, you'll make friends with the birds. They're very friendly... maybe too friendly, so keep an eye on your food. I went with the poke and it was excellent. The flavors tasted fresh and real--especially the ginger, which had an authentic punch. And the seaweed salad surprised me too..I usually find it bland, but this one was actually really tasty and complemented the bowl well. Great stop, great atmosphere, and I'd absolutely come back to try the other huts next time.
I appreciated the quality of the fresh fish and the complexity and generous serving of marinade so it soaked in the the rice. The rice portion was generous as well and served steaming hot.
Poke from a truck in Hawaii? Yeah I'm game. Walked from the hotel to this cute little food truck square one night for dinner. Out of all the options, Five Star Poke looked the most interesting. We might've been early for dinner? They were still cooking rice (might have just ran out of the last batch) and asked if we were okay to wait. They have many flavors of poke-- staff is friendly and even walked us through all the options so we could make the best decision. We ended up getting both salmon and tuna. They even gave us a free drink on the house for the wait. Poke was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh, fish to rice ratio was 5/5, and portion size was healthy. Would come here again for poke when we're on the island.
Right around the corner from Maguro which always has a huge line. So for no line you can enjoy really fresh yummy poke. There's a few other food trucks in this area with picnic tables in the middle. I got the small size cuz we were ordering a few things from other trucks too and so I was able to get 2 kinds of fish. Both tunas i got were really yummy. The shoyu was the classic poke flavour and the yuzu was very citrusy and refreshing. I got guac add on because they were very much hyping it up and honestly it was a good addition.
Fresh poke bowls from a food truck in a small area on Kuhio. Really solid poke options! Ordered the garlic shoyu ahi and wasabi salmon and thought the portions were good and prices pretty reasonable. Service was nice and helpful! read more
Five Star Poke is a food truck in a pretty convenient location. It sits in a lot with a few other food truck establishments -- very clean, colorful, and well lit. The atmosphere is so inviting, with a few benches/tables for customers to grab food and enjoy a meal in the vicinity. I told the food trucker that it was my first time trying poke, and he immediately began explaining how I should approach the menu. I really appreciated that! I settled on the spicy salmon, and it was so incredibly fresh. The salmon was extremely tender, and it was rightly seasoned. I believe it had fried onions on top -- this added the right amount of crunch to the soft salmon/rice! I would definitely return -- it was an excellent experience! read more

Five star poke is well deserving of 5 stars because their poke is fire. It is served out of a little food truck and it is so cute. Like most poke spots in Hawaii, the ahi is super fresh, but what makes this spot stand out is really the add-ons and seasoning. I love that the spicy mayo ahi comes with garlic crisps that adds a fun texture to the poke. The spicy mayo sauce has a little heat but look at it overspilling and coating the rice underneath. In contrast, the ginger scallion shoyu ahi is so unique and refreshing. Delish! read more

another good poke spot to try in waikiki! it's a food truck so the service is only through the window, then you get to sit on the picnic tables outside. as for the poke, i'd say it's a bit too sweet for my taste and the texture was too saucy/slimy. however, the quality of fish was definitely high and the rice was fluffy. the ambiance is great especially if you go during dinner time when it's busier! read more
So friggin buttery and fresh!! I loved this poke spot so much, I just wish the portions were larger for how much I paid for it. I ordered the garlic shoyu ahi and the wasabi salmon for my meal. It was sooooo good. Both poke proteins were so flavorful, and the food was ready pretty quickly!! My sister ordered the octopus, which was also quite good, but imo didn't compare to the butteriness of the ahi and salmon. The service was excellent. There's limited table space, but I enjoyed dining under the sun. Parking situation: we got verrrrry lucky finding free street parking nearby read more

Nice atmosphere street food with a few benches to sit at and eat. I ordered the no Miso ginger salmon. Fish was super fresh with nice flavor combo. Included seaweed salad. The rice was perfectly good. Excellent rice!! also had fresh made Ginger Lemonade- refreshing. Service was excellent I had my food within 5 minutes of ordering. Reasonable price for Waikiki read more
Five star poke was a great little find on a night walk to our hotel. I tried the spicy Aji tuna, and it was very good. The portion size was great for the price and you could tell it was made fresh. The service was quick, and the ambience was very nice. It felt like I was in a tiny little town in the heart of Waikiki. I would absolutely return. read more

This was the 1st spot we went to after the family was able to check into Twin Fin Hotel. This was just a few blocks walk, the kids my wife and I where able to enjoy the night temps and just walked on over. Small shack, but made the walk worth it, food had texture with toppings of fried onion, a lot of ginger kick and the man just knew the flavors I was looking for. He recommended 2 different sauces which gave me a tangy kick. With the mix of slaty, sweet, salty and just a nice helping of chunky tuna. We where happy with all we ate. The rice was perfectly sticky and made everything just blend together perfectly. Portions where just right for a night time meal. read more

Delicious salmon poke! It was really fast and friendly service and they had a nice space to sit too. Definitely coming back here for more. read more
If you are new to poke like me then this is the place to try. Raw fish is it? I have no idea because everything was so juicy and buttery that you will never feel that plate has some raw meats in it. Very good quality food and reasonably priced too compared to the Honolulu area. Must recommend trying when you visit HI. The staff was very welcoming too. Seems to be husband and wife running this truck. There are many combo options to try and you are open to choosing any. read more

Five Star Poke gets a five stars from me! I literally couldn't end my trip off without having one more poke bowl, so I took Five Star Poke into the airport with me. Was it probably not as fresh? Oh yes! But was it delicious? Every single bit of it! I got the 2 Choice ($15.79) with my choices of Cold Ginger Shoyu Salmon and the Original Garlic Shoyu Ahi. The Cold Ginger is identical to the garnishes on Chinese ginger chicken, and it was delish! I knew this topping could do no wrong, even on top of raw fish! Similar to many places in Hawaii, the pieces were chunky and fatty, but I felt the immense flavors of the sauces here in particular. I could not have had a better lunch as my souvenir back. The rice was also delish! The worker there was one-manning the truck and placed so much care into every order. He was so so nice and respectful! If you're in need of delicious poke in the Waikiki area, Five Star Poke got you! read more
Super fresh and delicious poke! I love the selection of fish, they had a lot of fun flavors and seasonings. My favorite was the wasabi ahi, so flavorful! The ginger lemonade was also a perfect drink pairing. My only suggestion would be to add greens to their menu for the poke base. read more
Really great poke spot closest to the Waikiki beach hotel strips. There are 2 other stands in the area, great tourist spot to eat the freshest poke. The owner of the shop was so friendly, and recommended the salmon shoyu poke. It was a decent price $13 for the bowl of poke. I wanted to get the ice matcha green tea. The owner warned that it wasn't sweet so he gave me a sample to try. He was right, it was the real matcha and it's not many people's palette. I didn't end up getting it since I like something more Junbi matcha drinks. There are picnic tables in the area so you can eat there. I think my poke attracted a lot of pigeons. Highly recommend when you're in the area. Heard it's even better than maguro brothers. read more

Five Star Poke deserves 5 stars ! This place is one of several food trucks forming a mini outdoor food hall in Waikiki. One has the option of one or two types of poke. There is also an option of topping off the bowl with guacamole. I got the bowl with jalapeño salmon and spicy mayo ahi. Sooooo good!! It was super fresh and the jalapeño salmon had a huge kick. Rice was perfect too! read more

Literally the best poke spot in Waikiki and I tried almost 10 different poke spots during my visit! Serving size was large and it was the only poke that was actually spicy! They provided a lot of additional sides which were delicious. Fast service. I'm so glad I got to try it. read more

I had been craving poke since we arrived in Hawaii. This place is conveniently located to several hotels and shares out door seating with a few other places. The cut of the ahi was a decent size, good portion of rice, and the overall dish tasted great. I wish the portion were larger, but that is just me over eating because it tasted so good. read more

Food truck was super cute, was clean, but I'm gonna have to pass on this pokey. Maybe it was the size of the cubes of the fish that I was not a fan of. The hubby did not enjoy his either. read more

This picture isn't the entire plate because it looked so good that I forgot to take a picture before I dug in! I've had a lot of poke in Hawaii, and this was one of my favorites! The sauce especially was super great, and all the ingredients tasted really fresh. Service was super quick as well :) read more

Original garlic shoyu ahi poke bowl Spicy Mayo Salmon Poke bowl Guacamole add on (Comes with rice & seaweed salad) First & Last meal for Waikiki getaway! Fish was so fresh and everything blended so well together. There's other food trucks around if you go with family/friends because they can choose between hula hot dogs, angry shrimp, & coffee. There's picnic tables so it truly is family style. Love it here and would probably come back! :) read more

It was okay, nothing spectacular. The garlic shoyu poke had decent flavor but did not wow me. The poke hardly covered the rice. For $15, I would expect more. I even found bones in the poke. Recommend trying another place. read more

This cute little food truck is nestled away off a main street in Honolulu in the back of a nice little eating area with other food trucks. The poke here tasted so fresh and came out fairly quickly. I got the garlic salmon poke bowl. There are some tables right outside the food truck which was nice to sit at but watch out for hungry birds!! I'd recommend this food truck for very fresh and quick poke. read more

Five star poke actually is, in my opinion, deserving of the name. Good place to stop by for a quick bite. Small joint with a limited menu of different varieties of poké on rice with a few drinks, not a problem at all for me. I ordered the ginger salmon and garlic ahi with the guacamole. The only problem I had with my meal was that I wish I had more! I liked the varieties of textures the poke had (I had garlic chips or just regular chips I believe and a ginger paste in mine). A little twist on classic Hawaiian poké. I'm a ginger lover so I realllllly liked the ginger salmon. Rice was also the perfect texture in my opinion. Would definitely come back here! read more

We found this food truck right as we stepped off the bus stop and it was such a definite hit that we went twice during our trip. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because your wallet also takes a hit even just ordering one bowl and a drink (honestly expected right in the heart of Waikiki). I had the Garlic Shoyu Ahi bowl first and it was so so delicious. For sure recommend the cold ginger ahi or salmon bowls for the ginger lovers. They have two drinks available- water and a ginger lemonade; I feel the lemonade was overpowered by the ginger and I couldn't handle it after one sip lol. The second time I went I tried the Fresh Jalapeño Salmon bowl, and it was also quite delicious. The bowls don't have much in them, which ensures that the fish stays the star of the meal, but I always prefer my poke bowls with a variety of toppings (aka more than 3). read more

Ok, maybe I ate here before they really got their stuff down (it was about a month ago) but here is my honest review: The biggest thing that turned me off about this place is that after I gave my order, a girl came out of the house thing in the back with the ahi in a plastic gallon Zip-Loc bag. Fish really needs to be stored at the correct temperature to avoid any bacteria that can cause illness, and it just made me a little uncertain to see the fish like that. It was a really hot day and it made me question how sanitary this was (she wasn't wearing gloves or anything). But of course, the taste is the most important thing. I got the spicy ahi and the garlic shrimp with guac because I wanted to try everything (I live just 2 blocks away, I'd love to have a bomb sushi spot within walking distance) and it was so bad I threw the bowl away. The ahi was grainy, not buttery and the shrimp.... the sauce was just cream? It didn't have any flavor to it and the combination of the rubbery shrimp and the bland-liquid texture grossed me out. Guac also didn't seem like it was freshly made - it seemed like something bought in bulk. I don't recommend this place, brave the lines at Ono instead. read more

Coming from the Mainland, we're used to poke bowl with tons of options and condiments. When we saw the choices were so limited here, the guards went up. Until the food was created and picked up. Wow!!! The flavorful poke did NOT need many add-ons since that would have ruined the taste. The ahi was seasoned thoroughly, and the freshness could not be matched by all other restaurants during the rest of our stay. Keep up the great work and we'll be back soon! read more
