I haven't ordered from here much, the staff is usually pretty kind and upbeat, no complaints with them at all. They work with what they got. My following review is based off factors out of their control. I'm not sure if the pizza was awful because it was different being that I ordered it because I received a scratch-off through the mail and won it, or if all pizza is like this now, but the crust is cardboard, the cheese is meh, and it was cold by the time I got home (I live literally next door to the complex its in) I also ordered chicken which the menu says is 1lb, there were less than 10 pieces and it's either hard or rubbery. I think $9 and change after tax for less than 10 pieces of previously frozen popcorn chicken pieces is excessive, but theres no way it was 1lb lol This place has pretty good salads and the personal sized pizzas have been good in the past. Also, the place is kinda in disarray right now due to remodeling, I get it, but the taped black garbage bags floor to ceiling don't give room for two people to be in the receiving area at the same time without bumping into the small table announcing the obvious remodeling. Perhaps its unfair because we've lived and traveled coast-to-coast, and are comparing it to some phenomenal pizza in NYC, Chicago, L.A., OC, Vail, etc. But seriously, their pizza is just a step above Little Caesars...just bland. The delivery people are always friendly, so they have that going for them. They just need a new recipe for a more flavorful pizza, or at the very least need to fix their oven or the person baking the pizzas so they don't come out overbaked every time. Website says they're doing contact-less pickup due to COVID-19 and we're quarantining, so we paid by phone and they were supposed to just put it in the car with no additional contact. The employee came out without a mask and asked me to sign the receipt anyway. Okay. The pizza is not good. Maybe it's because we got a specialty pizza. We ordered buffalo chicken pizza, which came with just chicken, cheese, and buffalo sauce instead of tomato sauce, which is fine. Some people do it that way. But, it was stale and the sauce was arguably not buffalo sauce. It was insanely spicy. Tasted like straight up habanero hot sauce. No buffalo flavor at all. I couldn't eat it. Pizza was flat and deflated. Not like a thin crust pizza, but like an old pizza. I'm surprised other people enjoy this place so much. I just moved to the area and was super stoked to check out all the pizza around me. I got a buy one get one free coupon to try out 5 star pizza [kudos to marketing team] so I figured I would give it a go. If you are a pizza fanatic like me this place will not be for you. Very cheap ingredients and very cardboard like. Would compare it to like a little ceasar/chucky cheese style pizza. I am not knocking cheap guilty eats pizza if the price is right. On my bogo pepperoni order I paid $14 which meant they are actually charging $14 for a pizza that taste and feels like a little Cesar's $5 large pepperoni deal. Not really trying to throw anymore shade on this place. If they are open and making money all power to them. They are the only pizza place in bradenton that got my attention through marketing and got me in their door which is impressive. Will I return to 5 star pizza? Never ever in my life. First time trying Five Star after getting many mail flyers and seeing ads on Facebook. It was around 10pm on a Friday night when we called for a take out order, literally only took about 25 mins to cool which was great! There was 4 hungry adults in our group so we figured why not get the PIEZILLA?! A 24" Pizza with literally every topping they have, ran us $32. Got a side of boneless wings and a 2 liter of Dew, all together came to $45 (not including the tip). The girl who checked us out was sweet, but awkward at first when you stand at the counter with a bunch of guys in the kitchen just staring at you as they work...either help out or don't look my way! Lol. Literally took up the whole front seat of the car! It was delicious! Super loaded with toppings, nice thin crust but super thick and fluffy around the edges, and we like a square cut pie! They used lots of sauce which was awesome too. Between the 4 of us we only ate about half the pie, really great flavor and quite a deal for the amount of food we got. Wings were just OK, we will just stick with pizza next time. We will definitely be back! Visited the área from the northeast (where the US allegedly has the best pizza.) Ordered takeout from Five Star with honestly low expectations as I've heard Florida doesn't really have the best pizza. Also heard you can't buy pizza by the slice un most FL Pizza places, weird AF but that's a concern for another day. Anyway, I was genuinely surprised at how absolutely delicious the pizza was. Okay so I have to be honest. Received a coupon in mail for 1 free large pizza and the teenager happened to be hungry one night at 9pm so I thought "what a better guinea pig". Lol. Clean, bright, very nice dining area, and great staff. I did get it to go but did check out everything during pickup. So got it Home and opened the box....impressed. So of course I had to try a piece of the teenagers pizza. After the second slice! I have determined it's one of the best pizzas I have had. The sauce is good, and the dough....well, I would just recommend a side of sauce to dip in for a free side of breadsticks. But if your not a sauce fan the crust is amazing without. Menu has been peeled off the box and placed on fridge for our next order that is soon to come. Even the picky teenage garbage pit was impressed so that's an extra star for him to come up for a breathe as compliment while eating. Lol. If your looking for a great tasting pizza you need to try it! Obviously the "free" pizza marketing worked on us so I hope they have great success.
