Fresca Caprese was excellent and fresh. However, the garlic knots were saturated in butter once we opened them up ( we live one mile away). Thin crust pizza was fair; nothing special and somewhat bland even though there were peppers and mu The Jordan's garden deep dish was also just okay. It was not very deep; crust tasted undercooked and there were t many vegetables. Lucky for us, we found an excellent pizza place down the road. Unfortunately, this one isn't it

A generous amount of dressing came on the side, be sure to include the good seasonings settled on the bottom of the container. In what seemed only a few minutes our pizza arrived. From their Specialty Pizzas section, we had picked their Meat Lovers pizza. This 14" beauty was topped with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and meatball. It was delicious and also too much food for us. I love eating great pizza until I just can't eat anymore. They also offer a 10" personal size and a 16" pie. I searched Yelp for a pizza place close to where I was visiting and came up with Godson's, I had not heard of them before. We stopped in for lunch. It's a small place, they have a handful of tables for dining in and they do a good takeout business. We learned they have been open for a couple of years, initially on Cortez and moved to this Manatee Ave spot last September (2024). After our meal we were able to chat with Andrew, our order taker / food deliverer, and also learned many of their regulars have followed them to this location. I can understand why, the food was outstanding.

My wife had the homemade fettuccine with shrimp and pistachio pesto (yes) and I had the lasagna Bolognese. The shrimp dish was amazing and quite different than the same old same old... The lasagna was good, but not over the top. I found it a little bit too "soft." and I prefer a hardier Bolognese made with pancetta, pork and beef. This was just straight beef. The homemade desserts of tiramisu and cannoli (pistachio... yes, again) were excellent. After moving here from Rhode Island, where there's an Italian restaurant in every corner and everything down here seems to be fairly mediocre...We are super happy to find this place and we'll definitely be back!

The Greek salad with grilled chicken is so good and the garlic knots have been better the last few times we gotten them! First time trying penne Ala vodka. I would say the young man at the front was not welcoming at all. We stood there for a minute before he actually acknowledged us which really rubbed me the wrong way. Then when he finally gave us his attention he didn't even acknowledge that we were awkwardly standing there for a while. I was looking at a menu while i waited and he literally grabbed the menu from my hand!!! I was ready to leave and find another place but we were really hungry and were looking forward to going up to the rooftop so we pressed on. We got a text letting us know it was our turn and we headed up to the rooftop. At this point it was almost sunset and the view was absolutely breathtaking i almost forgot little Johnny at the front was so rude and lacked hospitality. We ordered some apps the spinach dip and chips which were seriously underwhelming. The spinach dip looked like it was microwaved a few times and it was annoying having to scrape the hard cheese off the sides of the bowl but hey we weren't gonna leave none of that behind!! We also ordered some wedges which were super mehhhhh now the star of the show (besides the sunset) was the winger pizza we ordered. The pizza had buffalo chicken tenders, ranch based and blue cheese crumbles omg I'd order that over and over! The waitress we had was forgettable not exactly friendly either and our stuff took forever to come out i guess the double microwaving took a little longer but she got the job done. I guess. I hate that the customer service was seriously lacking at this location especially bc it's so much nicer than the st Pete one given that it's right by the water!! So I'm not sure if I'd ever make the trek to go back but it was worth a shot especially bc of that epic sunset!
