Hungry, I started with a Greek side salad. That was a refreshing beginning with all the usual ingredients. A generous amount of dressing came on the side, be sure to include the good seasonings settled on the bottom of the container. In what seemed only a few minutes our pizza arrived. From their Specialty Pizzas section, we had picked their Meat Lovers pizza. This 14" beauty was topped with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and meatball. It was delicious and also too much food for us. I love eating great pizza until I just can't eat anymore. They also offer a 10" personal size and a 16" pie. I searched Yelp for a pizza place close to where I was visiting and came up with Godson's, I had not heard of them before. We stopped in for lunch. It's a small place, they have a handful of tables for dining in and they do a good takeout business. We learned they have been open for a couple of years, initially on Cortez and moved to this Manatee Ave spot last September (2024). After our meal we were able to chat with Andrew, our order taker / food deliverer, and also learned many of their regulars have followed them to this location. I can understand why, the food was outstanding. read more

This is some of the best pizza in Manatee county! We had a meat lovers and a pepperoni pizza . My family loved them . It's our go to place for takeout pizza on those nights we don't want to cook. Try it I think you will agree! read more

Should be called GodAwful. As soon as we walked in we should have left, dirty stained ceiling tiles, with stuff all over the floor. Ordered - House Salad with ranch. - chopped wilted iceberg, sad sliced tomatoes and a couple of cucumbers. Ranch was hidden valley. - Cheesebread, basically a hoagie roll with some butter, garlic seasoning and barely melted cheese. I have never seen garlic cheese read be left even in the worst pizza places and we left 2/3rds - "Classic Pizza" large. (Sausage, Mushroom, Pepperoni) - in the reviews people said the crust is good. What???? Crust is akin to a Tombstone Frozen oven pizza crust. Sausage is the crappy pre cooked nuggets, sauce was like prego. - 2 corona. surely u can't mess that up, wrong. Not very cold. In conclusion. Save your money. Go to any other pizza place or frankly just buy an oven pizza, it will definitely be better. read more

Awesome pizza place. Service was amazing. Hard to find good pizza in Florida but this was the one! Great job!

My family of 26 ppl and I stopped here for dinner during our vacation and the owner and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious, hot, and came out FAST! Thank you Godson's!! read more

Newly opened pizza place in Bradenton. As the backstory goes, when the original owner of Demitrios retired, he gave this restaurant to his Godson, hence the name. The new owner has taken the good qualities that Demitrios once had and bumped it up a couple of stars. Our party order the following: Medium sized greek salad: more than enough to split between three people. The dressing seemed to be slightly different, but was still good and tasty. The feta had a bit more taste to it. Chicken noodle soup: very similar to Demitrios chicken orzo, but different pasta. Very good. Two small pizzas. One pepperoni and mushroom, the other a deluxe. We requested extra crispy and well. They hit the mark. Crispy, well done, not greasy. In my opinion the pizza was better than Demitrios. The toppings ample and fresh....good pepperoni and sausage. One person ordered the baked ravioli with meat sauce. I had a bite, and it was delicious. Nice chunky meat sauce, with onions, and extra melted cheese on top. Our waiter....he was excellent. On point, never lacking anything, had great timing, prebussed the table, and everything came out as requested and nothing forgotten. Will definitely be back, and hope they keep up the great job with the overall experience. read more

Great service & delicious food! The BBQ chicken pizza was amazing. Also very much enjoyed the manicotti, cheese bread, fried zucchini, and Greek salad. We had a lactose free person with us and they made a special pizza just for them too. read more

Service was incredible, our food was so so good! I just moved to the area and I'm so excited to find good pizza so quickly!!

BEST pizza in town !!! This place is definitely better than the one that was there before. My husband got a Philly Cheese Steak and I got a Large Meat Lovers Pizza. The Cheese Steak was fully loaded and came on a hot sub bun that was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It had tons of meat and just the right amount of mozzarella cheese. I was so busy eating my pizza I forgot to take a picture of it. The pizza was exceptional !! The crust is hand tossed and I asked them to make it a thin crust. It came out perfectly, the crust was crispy on the bottom and despite the fact that it had tons of meat on it, there wasn't a big pool of grease in the center, which usually makes the crust soggy and floppy. The pepperoni has great flavor and they don't over do it on the cheese. The sauce is fantastic also, not too sweet or salty just perfect ! The service was far above average also. We will definitely be back !!! read more

Got a large pizza with sausage & mushrooms.Pizza was light on tomato sauce, sausage, mushrooms. I enjoyed the cracker thin crust.

I grew up in New Jersey in a " Sopranos" town. So my standard for pizza and other Italian foods is pretty high. But the chicken Parmesan sandwich I got at this place today was the worst ever. Overcooked, dry and burnt chicken with a small dollop of marinara. Nice amount of mozzarella, but that couldn't save it. Total waste of money. As we say it Jersey, "don't throw in the river, not even the fish will eat it". read more

What a gem! Thankfully they already had a good rating on Yelp or else I probably wouldn't have stopped in. The pizza was one of the best I've had in Florida. BBQ chicken pizza was awesome. The sauce on pepperoni pizza was great. Service was on point! Plenty of parking and I'd all the preseason NFL games on. Family friendly read more

Been going here since it was Dimetrios. The best baked lasagna I've ever had. And I have eaten a lot of baked lasagna across the country. And that's been consistent for over 10 years. The meat sauce is primo. It's a must stop when I'm in the area. read more

Came here on our first night after landing in the eveing and needed something easy and accessible. Server was great and food was good. I really enjoyed the Chicken Parm sandwich. We ordered a pizza. The kids liked the Pepperoni better than the cheese pizza. We also shared some wings and they were pretty good as well. Overall, if in the area, good place to meet the pizza craving. read more

Absolutely amazing service and the food was so good and note they have Crinkle cut fries I say that because they are my favorite. The pizza was great too If your in town looking for great pizza and service make the drive you won't be disappointed read more

Went there last night to get takeout pizza and greek salad. called ahead and they said be ready in 20-25 min. I arrived 25 min later and after arrival the lady said she would need to make the salad and went back to make it herself. Hmm handling money and the phone ? did she wash her hands before making the salad? not sure but let's hope so. As I'm waiting I thought hope my pizza isnt getting cold. oh I bet they keep it a warm place until pickup.... Not :-(. when she returned I saw that it was sitting out front next to the reception desk. Paid and hurried home to find two things. 1) the pizza was stone cold and 2) when I open the salad there was a pepper ON TOP with a rotten end. If I had time I would have taken it back to see if the lady who made it would agree to eat that pepper. The rest of the story is after reheating the pizza it was truly awful as well. see lots of great reviews, but my experience was NOT good! read more

Telephone, take out order. The service was fine. The large Deluxe pizza was under baked. The cheese wasn't thoroughly melted. The crust was soft and fell apart. I used to go to this place before the pandemic and before they changed their name and I loved it then, but I won't be back. read more

They have moved and did not take their employees with them. Food quality not nearly as god as the old Demetrios

First I have to say. The employees are very friendly. Skyler was our server and his personality combined with attention to detail would allow him to work at any restaurant. I eat out all the time and maybe the last time I had a waiter of his caliber was at Ruth's Chris. The pizza was very good, maybe just a touch under cooked but the flavor is super. Overall I'm very impressed. Btw one cushion in booth needs to be fixed. read more

I was looking for a halfway point between Tampa and Venice to meet my daughter for dinner. We picked this place based on Yelp! Reviews and it didn't disappoint. My first time enjoying this restaurant. I ordered a medium pepperoni pie and a small order of buffalo wings. This will be a short review, phenomenal wings and fantastic pizza! I am so happy that the old Demetrios location has excelled even better with fresh ideas! The new owners should be proud. Will be a regular customer for sure read more

Probably sounds boring, but I LOVE their plain extra cheese pizza. There's just something about their cheese...so yummy.

Still a rookie only on take out two but so far the pizza is worth the drive. Family business that is worth a stop with a sporty atmosphere

Greeted promptly! Andrew, our server, was friendly and efficient. Food was excellent.

Godson's Pizza House - Medium pepperoni pizza - Pizza Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

Meatballs were not homemade and taste like they came premade and out of the bag. Not sure about the sauce but nothing was special. Pass.

My husband had a calzone and said it was delicious. I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich. Taste good just wish the bread was crispy.

Nearly everyone on our street. Got together for lunch at Godsons Pizza. The food was amazing. The portions were more than sufficient and the service was exceptional. We've been back several times since then, I would highly recommend Godsons Pizza! read more

Bought two pizza yesterday and they were the cheapest pizza I have ever bought . Would I go back? No way! Twenty dollars for a medium pizza, you think they would make a great pizza with a good amount of ingredients! They need to ask themselves.. would I buy this themselves? Really wish I had taken photos but the food was so good I forgot. We stopped on Sunday and they were closed. So we made the trip again last night. They were pretty busy but were able to clean a booth for us. The hostess said it would be a few min because they only had 2 servers. She ended up being our server and we really didn't wait long at all. We ordered the mozzarella sticks. They were hot, fresh, light and crispy. Hubby ordered a pizza and I got the baked eggplant dinner. My dinner was just $8.99 for a huge portion and came with a salad and garlic bread. What a deal. Get the Greek salad and use their Greek dressing. It was phenomenal. Hubby had a bite and had to order a salad for himself. My meal was hot and delicious. Hubby ordered ricotta on his pizza (we did not see it on the menu but they accommodated). It was fresh and they gave a good amount of toppings. The only complaint would be for the pizza to be baked a bit longer. The center was a tad floppy. We can just ask them to do so next time. Food came out in a timely manner. The whole experience was fabulous. We will certainly make the drive from Osprey again soon! read more

Although the server tried very hard, she couldn't overcome the less than mediocre pizza and drinks we had. Ordered a mango and a peach margarita and neither had any flavor at all. The family size salad was served in a bowl sized for one so it spilled all over the table when you took some. The Greek dressing was in a pretty nasty pour bottle the needed to be washed. We ordered two pizzas and they were OK but the veggies were very under cooked. Definitely not what I was expecting. read more

Godson's did not disappoint. Excellent food and service. I enjoyed the pizza more than it's predecessor, Demetrios (and I was a die-hard fan.) This is not a reboot. This is a different, Italian style, Pizza House with it's own recipes. Top notch servers. I've found a new favorite place. :) read more
