I went here a couple months back for my hardrive that gave out on me. I thought I wouldn't be able to get it fixed. Let alone it wasn't fixable so I thought all my files were gone. But luckily they were able to recover everything and put it on a new hardrive. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't expensive as most other places. Plus their customer service was amazing. Totally would recommend. read more

Vahan is amazing! I would trust him with any data, any device. He's my go to guy when ever I have a hard drive go south or my MacBook pro is behaving badly. He has saved more than a few productions I've worked on. Just about every editor and post production supervisor I know has his number. Five Star Data Recovery is hands down the ONLY place I will go for data recovery. read more

Let's me start out by saying "The Best Data Recovery shop Anyone can ask for "! The word around town is true! I was referred by a friend. I had an issue with my drives freezing up and crashing which resulted in losing my data. I took it to A few places and they weren't able to fix the problem. Just to break down i brought in my MacBook Pro on Monday and went over the issues with Vahan. He took his time explaining the possibilities and options. Mind you their teams customer service is A1! The next day I got a call that all my data has been restored. I was in total shock their speedy turn around was amazing! I rushed down to the shop to pick up my MacBook which then I purchased an additional MacBook since their prices were amazing and vahan totally hooked it up. Guys look no where this is the place to go if you need any data recovery or even Macs!!! read more

Five Star Data Recovery is Amazing! My WD External Hard Drive stopped mounting and no longer would power up when plugged into the computer no matter what I tried. I was afraid that I lost all my files for good but thankfully I found Five Star Data Recovery and Vahan and the team, Elen and Alex was able to help fully recover everything 100%. They kept me up to date with the whole recovery process, provided a full recovery report and also helped copied a second drive for me so I'd have better peace of mind. Two of my hard drives crashed and I needed my data fast. I looked online for a data recovery business in the San Gabriel Valley, found a few, got some quotes, and wasn't confident in the service. Then I found Five Star Data Recovery in Glendale, gave'em a call, got a reasonable quote, and made the trip over to this shop. From the phone call to in-person, I was treated professionally and kindly... I really felt appreciated and welcomed. I dropped off two HDs, got email order updates for both, and I got my data back in a few days; could not be happier. The staff there are very nice and polite. The price was very reasonable, and the service top-notch. I'd definitely recommend Five Star Data Recovery to anyone that needs this type of service. Though, it is unlikely that I will have another issue like this anytime soon, but if I do, I will definitely come back to them with absolute confidence. read more

I hardly write reviews but this place is amazing. Vahan has always gone above and beyond to help me out whenever I have an issue with my computer/cards/hard drives/etc. Most recently my MacBook Pro was crashing quite frequently and I couldn't figure out what the issue was. Vahan diagnosed it within minutes and we found out the motherboard was the issue. At this point it didn't make sense for me to replace the motherboard and I was looking to upgrade my laptop anyways. Without going into too much detail, Vahan gave me an amazing deal because he knew of my situation financially, and worked with me in ways no other company would probably ever do. Love this store and this guys integrity. This is the only place I'll be coming back to in the future for all of my hardware needs and issues :) read more

Five star data recovery is definitely five star! Four years worth of pictures were gone when suddenly our external hard drive took a sh!t. Thank God for these guys, I got in touch with them the next day and dropped off my hard drive. It was a long and tedious process I'm sure but Vahan gave us updates every step of the way. I can't express how happy and relieved I am to have found these guys, they were able to recover all my files and hand them back to me. Thanks a million to the entire five star recovery team, you guys are amazing! read more

My external hard drive crashed. Initially, I took it to a well known chain electronics place. After them hemming and hawing about what to do with it for 2 MONTHS, I asked them to give me my external hard drive back. Went on Yelp and found Five Star Data Recovery--- they SAVED me. So professional--I can't say enough good things about them. My external hard drive had thousands of photos which were completely lost. Communicated with them on a Sunday, took it in Monday morning and it was ready by Wednesday!!! Vahan communicated with me via email every step of the way, to let me know what the progress was and I very much appreciated that. He managed to recover almost all of the photos and transferred them onto another drive. AND they charged me HALF of what the other electronics place wanted to charge. I will only go here from now and will let all my friends know as well. Thank you so much, Five Star Data Recovery!! read more

Vahan is a amazing. He did great job recovery my data Fully recommend his services. He is quick and he his place is easy to find.

Five Star Data Recovery is incredible and Vahan is awesome. I had a WD 1TB external hard drive that just up and died after only a month. WD would not answer my emails regarding the warranty, so I searched data recovery services and Five Star Data Recovery popped up. I contacted them by email, and they answered back almost immediately even though it was in the evening, and they were closed. Upon my description they quoted me a price, but once they got my hard drive, there was damage inside and they would need to take it to the clean room. Vahan said the damage was considerable and was not sure my data could be recovered. I have no idea how I damaged it. He did say he had seen worse, but he had been able to recover data. He made no guarantees but would try to recover mine, ALL AT NO CHARGE. I would only have to pay only if he put it on another hard drive and returned it to me. To my surprise, and happiness, he was able to recover ALL of my data. He is a magician in data recovery, and I couldn't be happier. The data was very important to me. In addition, communication was as excellent. They kept me up to date with everything they were doing, and very quickly answered my emails when I had questions. They even recommended hard drives that I should try in the future. I highly recommend their services. I will use them again, when need be, and will tell anyone to send their data recovery issues to them. They will not be disappointed. Thank You so much!!! read more

Excellent service! Five Star Data Recovery was truly five stars from the initial phone call to the completed data recovery for my 128gb flash drive. Amazing service from start to finish! When your in the space between losing your data (and your mind) and retrieving it -- you need someone who responds quickly and cares as much as you do about your data. Five Star was fast and over communicated the process, which you don't realize you want until you think you've lost important work files. Thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

This place is great in what they do. Recovered 99.9% of data. Vahan gave daily updates of their progress. Can't thank this place enough.

I am so happy that I found this place. It was a long drive, about 75 miles, but the local shops that claimed that they did data recovery were just drop off locations that shipped your drive to some other location that actually does the work. Their reviews weren't very good and I wanted to be able to talk to the person doing the work. I called Five Star Data Recovery, they had great reviews and the person that answered the phone was very knowledgeable and explained to me their pricing and recovery policy. It was very reasonable. I drove the 75 miles to Glendale to deliver the drive. I understand that you can also ship the drive to them but I wanted to see the shop that I was giving my valuable data too. I was not disappointed. The shop was very neat, clean and modern. I was greeted by Vahan. We discussed the condition of the drive and he explained my options. I brought a new portable HD with me for them to put the recovered data on but they will also sell you one from their large selection of new drives. Their prices are very reasonable and they are quality drives. I left my old drive and the new drive with Vahan and he promised to keep me up to date about the recovery process by email. Later that day I received an email saying that they were able to access the data and everything was going great. The next day they sent me an email with a list of they data that was recoverable and what was not recoverable. Only one file was not recoverable, it was not an important file and I felt great about the recovery process. The next day I received an email saying that the recovery was complete and I could come pick it up. The price was exactly as we had discussed, no surprises. They recycled my old drive for me. I felt great about the whole transaction. I transferred the recovered data to my other external HD and everything is back to normal. My experience with Five Star Data Recovery couldn't have been better. Now I know why they are called "Five Star". I definitely give them five stars! Vahan and his crew are top-notch. read more

It is a 5 star professional service! I had an external hard drive fail. I called Five Star Data Recovery to get a quote. They immediately knew what was wrong with the drive. Nothing but good things to say about this place! My hard drive was corrupted, and after taking it to two shops I was pretty much resigned to the idea of losing all of my stuff, or having to pay thousands of dollars to get it back. Needless to say, very stressful. Vahan took amazing care of me. He responded immediately to my initial inquiry, really took the time to explain everything to me when I came in, and helped restore the vast majority of my data for a very reasonable price in under a day. He kept me updated on the process the entire time (which was less than a day), answered all of my questions, and really went out of his way to help out! Super friendly, responsive, efficient and knowledgeable. I had a fantastic experience and highly recommend this place!! read more

Great service! Elen and Vahan were able to save our data from a hard drive that randomly failed. After feeling hopeless that we had lost all of our data on an external hard drive, we took it in to Five Star Data Recovery and they gave us some options. They were able to recover our data and gave us updates all along the way. They even went above and beyond and let us test our files on their computers to give us peace of mind that the files were working properly. Thank you Elen and Vahan! read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!! Have you ever had your computer crash and you thought you'd lost everything? Pretty scary, right? I was in that situation last week, and before I had even officially hired Vahan, he spent time trying to calm me down and advise me of what to do (or not to do) immediately. It was pretty late at night, and I was surprised to hear back from him when I sent an inquiry to his business. But, hear back I did. He answered my multitude of questions and was a voice of calm and reason in a very stressful situation. All after normal business hours. And, due to my work schedule, he made arrangements for me to bring my computer in outside of his normal business hours. And he worked on it immediately, that day! He could have waited until the next day - Monday. But he knew how important this was to me - knowing if my data was salvageable. I was lucky - he was able to recover 99.9%. I am so thankful. And have learned an important lesson - backup, backup, backup!! (Yes, I'm embarrassed...) I am so glad I stumbled upon Five Star in my search to try to recover all the work on my hard drive. Vahan - I hope to never find myself in a situation like this again, but if I am, you will be my first call! Thank you for your dedication to my situation, to making me feel comfortable with the security aspects of your business and my personal info, and for being so kind and patient. read more

Definitely my first positive computer repair experience and it for sure made up for all negative experiences I've had in the past at various computer service stores. Definite shout out to Vahan for the speedy repair and excellent service. You went above and beyond the expected. Thank goodness for 5 star data recovery! I was heartbroken when I realized that I did not have access to my photos on my hard drive anymore. My grandmother had just passed and my family and I were trying to put a photo album together. The experts at 5-star were upfront, honest, and sensitive to my needs. Man, I don't know where to start, these people are very professional and friendly and most importantly, INFORMED. Thank you for everything.

They helped me with a flash drive that couldn't open my documents. They had a quick response, very helpful and great customer service!

Losing data is always a really nerve wracking situation to be in... and the service from anyone I've ever sought a quote from before has been traditionally predatory, and price gouging... delightfully that is NOT what I found to be true at Five Star. Vahan was sympathetic and knowledgeable and conveniently just a few blocks from my office space in Glendale I quickly made an appointment, and as soon as I walked in the door my drive was getting looked at an a prognosis was being made... the price breakdowns are clear, fair and tiered so you have many options depending on how important the material you are trying to save is to you. Vahan kept me very informed in an organized way throughout the process by email so I could participate in decision making about how to treat damaged or salvageable material. I would recommend their service again and again. Thanks, Five Star. I love you guys! read more
