I just had my septic pumped by their team. Very competent, great service. Would definitely recommend. They also have a very fair price - so will absolutely use them in the future. Like other septic services company they charge for the pumping and for labor if they need to dig to find the tanks. Mine were about 1.5 ft underground and they charge $90/hr I believe. Plus $350 for the pumping. They do an excellent job of explaining how all this works. They also install the risers (which I didn't know about). Dishonest company. I needed my septic pumped for a sale, they came out sat in my yard for about 2 hours came back and told me I needed to replace the drain lines, and the owner would be reaching out to me. My septic was fairly new and not much in it, with only 2 people living in my house. I had never had back flow problems in to the house either. The owner came out and I asked him to prove to me it wasn't draining because when his employees came out all they did was sat in my yard, I told him I had cameras and I could prove to him they never put the water hose inside the septic tank for more than 5 min. He didn't even know the gallons per house that a tank should be draining or the specifics of a tank, all they wanted me was to approve a 15k job. In the end all they did was put "chemicals in my tank" and charged me 2k, I only agreed to pay them because I was closing escrow that week. read more

This company in not an honest company. They said my tanks needed repairs (mortar patches) and I need risers installed in order to close escrow for the sale of my home. Risers are not needed to sale a home. ( they are needed on new septic tank install.) Repairs that were going to cost me an extra 2,700.00 on my bill. So I called another company who has serviced my tank in the past and showed him the estimate repair sheet and he checked my tanks and said the things they put down was not needed. No mortar patch was needed for either tank and one tank is fairly new and had very little in it. He also showed me where they damaged an area from Jack hammering the lid open! Something that should not be done if they know what they are doing. I do not recommend this company for any escrow inspection. They will lie to you and bill you for work that is not even needed. read more

I'm just getting around to this review as I need to have my septic pumped again and I'm looking for another company because of how horrible the service was. Whoever came out to pump the septic was the rudest person I've ever encountered. My mother actually had to go over since I was on my honeymoon. He complained the whole time about how horrible the house was where we lived and "I don't even know how someone could live here it's so terrible." He also stared at what he was pumping and made comments about it the whole time. When my mother called to tell me about the experience and I was shocked, I was also terrified that we let someone like that onto our property. I will never ever use this company and I am so glad there are other companies in Lancaster that can provide us with the septic services we need. I will also recommend to anyone I know to steer clear of this company. read more

I'm selling my home and a septic inspection was needed. Called other places nearby and none were available or they couldn't do certificatations. Called up 5 Star. Told me to fill in an online form. Did so. They showed up next day. I was quoted a price (same as other places I called). I call next day to get results. All is well with septic. Best part: they didn't charge me to pump it (it had been pumped 6 months ago, they didn't know that). They could have easily screwed me, but instead we're honest and pro rated me. I was selling my home, and the septic tank failed inspection - the last hurdle to closing on the sale. The company that did the inspection just said "you need to call for replacement" and didn't even have a business card. I called around and found Five Star - they came out the same day and provided a super reasonable estimate. Less than a week later, a new tank is installed and certified (even working through winter rains). Phone calls/texts were always quickly answered, and customer service was excellent. 5 star more like 1star. These guys were recomended to inspect a septic tank for home sale. After being told where said septic tank was located they looked for the tank for 3HOURS before calling someone to find out where it was. Once they found the septic tank 5 minutes after being told where to find it again they were unable to certify, pump, or repair the tank. I called another company that pumped and cetified the tank for 1 year. My bill was over 800. After 3 phone calls they took off a whopping 70 really? I wouldn't recommend them. read more

I hired five star to replace a water tank. I paid between 9 and ten thousand dollars. The owner Tim, is very unfriendly and does not return phone calls once he is paid. After the job was done I realized I needed a new pump. My sons said they would purchase and install a new pump. So I said ok. One of the five star employees called and told me he had already purchased a part to do the job and even though I hadn't hired him to do that installation I felt bad that he was out of 175.00. I gave him the money when he came to my door.when my sons saw the part they told me that part is only about 20.00 dollars. So I looked it up and yep, 20.00. On 3/03/18 I called Tim the owner and told him I didn't think that was fair. He said he would look into it. He never called me back but also never cashed the check. Now six months later without a word he cashed the check. Yes I should have stopped payment but I trusted him because he is best friends with the owner at ACE Hardware and he's a good man. I called Tim yesterday and his secretary said he was out and he would call me. NOPE! After paying 9000 plus dollars he had to rip me off for 175.00. I just don't understand how people can be like that. I give them -10 stars. I am on social security and count every penny. Thanks a lot Tim. Also the part they charged me for would have been to small for the job. read more
