    Espresso martini
    Charee G.

The bar is located inside of the Hotel Indigo. While staying a night you receive drink tokens to redeem. Came on a busy Saturday night where it was extremely busy. The bar area is quite small and the 2 bartenders were really hustling. Ended up ordering an Espresso Martini (not included in the drink tokens). The martini was not the best, also not the worse. Just left like it needed a little more sweetness. Hands down the bartenders here really try their best to take orders and serve drinks efficiently.

Five Oaks Taproom is located in the IHG Indigo Hotel in the historic district in Savannah, which is where we were staying, so this restaurant and bar came handy. Although the service was top notch, the food and drinks were A-OK. With Savannah being such a food haven, I suspect only hotel guests dine and drink here. We came to the bar a few times where it was fun, especially when the bartender, Allie was working. She was super funny and friendly, and remembered hotel guests, which put a personal touch on the experience. The bar itself is not the largest, but has ample room for those getting drinks. There were TVs playing sports and when the place got muggy one day, they brought in a huge fan. Beer on tap was meh. Not a large selection of crafts. Good luck getting a good IPA. The restaurant was A-OK. We dined in for breakfast one day and on another day, I was able to get a breakfast meal to go for my flight home. The food wasn't bad, but not the best. I ordered the crab benedict, which was crab on top of a fried green tomato with a slight zesty aioli. Because of how rich the entrée was, it needed some bread or something lighter to cut through. My breakfast wrap was satisfactory. It had sausage, eggs, cheese, grilled onions and peppers. All in all, Five Oaks Taproom is primarily here for hotel guests, so expect a hotel bar and restaurant. You get the drift. Best part here was the friendliest staff - at the bar and dining area.

    Restaurant week menu

Restaurant week is so hawt right now... it's really "in" through 9 February. That said, I figured I'd take the opportunity to explore a place I haven't tried. I was a bit apprehensive because of the most recent terrible reviews and the overall rating of the place. I decided to be daring and take a risk for myself. This restaurant is located in the Indigo Hotel. You can use their valet or the parking garage right across the street. I made a reservation through open table. They accommodated my wish to be in a booth. The waitress was very friendly and speedy with everything. To start, they bring out rolls. I think a couple of them were a bit stale or over toasted. I couldn't tell which. The restaurant week menu is what lured me in. I ordered the truffle potato soup (yum!), the Gouda-bacon-chicken Mac and cheese, and the tiramisu. I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact I was pleasantly surprised... probably because I did have low expectations going in. The pasta was so gooey and delicious and a heaping serving, which I got to bring home. The tiramisu was really good, no complaints. They did have some interesting cocktails on their normal menu, but I settled for moscato. They had outlets in the booths for chargers. I always appreciate that in Savannah because it's easy to drain your phone!

Can't speak for the food as I spent my time here at the bar with my $25 a night drink credit from the hotel. Bar scene is small but worth it. It's a bit pricey but they make a mean Old Fashioned. Honestly it's a simple drink but so many places screw or up. They do it right here. Simple, tasty and well balanced. You won't be disappointed

My boyfriend was interested in coming here because they had a board outside with their Rib Eye special advertised, and they didn't have it, which was disappointing. However, they were able to accommodate him with their house Rib Eye, and he substituted the side for their Brussels sprouts, which were good and halved and charred with some bacon pieces. The meat was just okay, but cooked perfectly as requested, which can save a steak. Very good. I've stayed at Hotel Indigo a few times, but this most recent visit was during restaurant week, so I ended up getting their Pasta special. It came with a salad, the. salmon, tomato, basil, & pepper pasta with a basil-cream sauce, and then a dessert which happened to be cheesecake! The pasta was good, though it needed salt and pepper, but the sauce had so much oil in it that I couldn't finish it, which was surprising for a "cream" sauce. But, the cheesecake was good, it was more of a dense cheesecake than a light one and had strawberries with it. The service has been always been nice and helpful, but the food is just okay. The beer selection is minimal, but I was grateful they at least had a dark beer on tap for me!

Awesome hotel bar! Looks fancy, but they accept patrons in casual attire. Very upscale environment without having to be upscale people. Classy. :) The service is very efficient and the clientele is laid back and friendly. We bumped into a lot of people there for business in Savannah so conversation was interesting and you will not be lacking for company. Gorgeous interior and tasty drinks to boot. Our take-out late night snack of poutine wasn't too shabby either. I would definitely recommend FOT!

We popped into Savannah on a whim Wednesday night and we're pleasantly surprised at Five Oaks Taproom. Our server was very attentive, food was good and atmosphere was great! A man was singing and playing the guitar and we enjoyed his music. We had put $10 in his guitar case as a "tip" and on his next break he came and gave us a CD for American Hologram "Same Blue Sky". We had a nice time!

I've had the chance to visit The Lost Square both during the winter and this past week during the summer. They have a great view of the river and cozy lounge seating, as well as a full bar. The first time I visited was near Christmas and it was freezing outside, but they had a burning fireplace and the cutest little enclosed glass houses you could sit in to enjoy your drinks. During my recent visit, we had our 1 yr old son with us and decided to have dinner there and enjoy the weather. I had the Valencian Spritz (reposado, orange aperitif wine, fresh orange, white pepper, and cava) which was the perfect summer drink. My husband had the Soft Light mocktail (zero proof gin, papaya, kefir, and saline). For food, we started with the Labneh dip topped with olive oil, za'atar, and honey with fresh pitas on the side. Wow, this has got to be the best pita I've ever had. They were so fluffy, warm, and well seasoned. We even got a second order. The labneh dip was phenomenal -- highly recommend for an appetizer or just a snack. We also shared to the falafel bites and the Alida Burger which was very tasty! We'll definitely be back for another visit the next time we're in Savannah!

It's a fun hangout, playing rock music from the 00s, which gives it a nostalgic vibe. Buck from the bar was very hospitable and made me feel at home. I enjoyed an Almond Joy cocktail that was quite good, as well as a shot of Jameson, which I needed after the long, intensive day I had. They have a solid whiskey selection behind the bar if you were looking to do some pours or shots -- pours based on the bottle I saw. They also make some cool cocktails off the cuff. A touch methodical, but they were good, at least the ones my wife enjoyed. Like at every other bar in Savannah, per the ordinances, there is a door person who checks IDs, so make sure you have it. When I walked in, I was gazing around and then all of a sudden, a man appeared asking for ID. They usually have someone watching from the top of the stairs or from the level you enter, but they will check you so keep note if you're not used to bringing your ID with you (not sure why you wouldn't, but I digress).

Man in the photo attached would not let me in because he said he saw me stumbling up and down the rails earlier that night and I was too inebriated to enter. My coworker is an African American man and I am Asian and we felt very unwelcome. No facts he made were substantiated by evidence. I was excited to show my coworker this place place I found and had been coming to for the past year as evident by the previous positive review I made a year ago. All the bouncers but one was reasonable and professional but at the end of the day refused our entry and service. I took this photo to document our negative interaction and the bouncer with a full beard and mustache then told me that I was banned from all their establishments. I encourage the owner to educate this young man and train him on decision-making, analytical skills, de-escalation skills. A bit of emotional intelligence will go a long way to this gentleman here. It would do wonders for your business and clientele. Please CHECK your surveillance camera for all the facts. Beautiful glass, marble, deep colors of navy, mauve, and gold. Service was wonderful, felt welcomed immediately. For my appetizer, I had the crab cake with homemade tartar sauce, which was a light, bright way to start the evening. For my entree, I had the filet mignon. The server will tell you, the menu says tapas, but the servings are larger than that. Meat portions are generous at 6 oz. My only complaint is that I ordered my steak medium and got closer to well done. At least the steak was still moist and not dried out, but I would be hesitant to do the steak again. The spinach risotto I had with it was creamy and cheesy, however, so that was nice. Other options for food include burrata, a charcuterie board, grilled shrimp, sea bass, salmon, scallops. The cocktails are the real star here. They fall under the categories "strong and adventurous," light fare," and "signature." Non-alcoholic cocktails are also available. I started with the medusa 1597, under "strong and adventurous." Made with Old Tom Gin, extra dry vermouth, truffle, grapefruit, and amaro, it was extremely strong. A bold, slow sipper I would have done better to have later in the evening, but I still appreciate the complexity of it. I also had the Bella primavera, a lighter cocktail under the signature section. Made with pisco, blanc vermouth, French herbal liqueur, watermelon, and basil leaf. A smoother, brighter, faster sip than the Medusa. And I also had the blood orange martini, made with French vodka, blood orange, lime, and cranberry. A little sweet, but not cloying, and again, would have been a better starter as opposed to a closer. I think when I return, I will ask the bartender to make me off the menu drinks. This place seems creative enough that the outcome would be fantastic. I loved this place. The vibe, the view, the service, the offerings. Can't wait to see what more they have in store.
