The burgers are great but I needed a body prophylactic to sit in the dining room to eat it. My 95lb vegetarian daughter ordered the $3.95 grilled cheese sandwich that apparently threw the kitchen into an uproar as nobody on site knew how to make one. We waited as five clients after us received their orders until my hamburger and my daughter's grilled cheese emerged after multiple kitchen conferences. The grilled cheese wasn't a sandwich, it was a grilled cheese 'bite'. This was the first time in twenty-five years my daughter EVER complained of having insufficient food to eat at any restaurant. Yes, it's a chain, but Five Guys is so far above and beyond other burger chains that it's really in a class of its own. Burgers and fresh cut fries made to order... hard to beat that. I must have had some unrealistic hopes for this chain after hearing all the great word-of-mouth reviews about their peanut oil cooked fries and "amazing" burgers. Our party had a burger, hot dog, grilled cheese, and fries.. I couldn't even eat the fries! The hot dog was small and nothing special & the burger - while good - wasn't much to rave about. We tried Five Guys when they first opened in RI. LOVE. They have the best burgers, always cooked upon order. Their fries are the best I've ever had. I'm not a fries gal but love these. They use fresh potatoes and the skin is on the fries. Upon entrance you can help yourself to a box of roasted peanuts in the shell. So it is not a peanut free joint. Atmosphere is great. Staff works diligently. A regular burger is a double or you can get the "little" which is a single. It's messy but so worth it. I get mine with cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions, lettuce and mayo! 15 minutes I waited to get a single and small fries. There was no customer ahead of me and 9, yes 9 people behind the counter. Most of them went in the back and stuck one guy with making everything. Quite a few customers came in after me and instead of serving me first, he tried to make everyone at the same time so I had to wait extra long. I got a refund and left without getting my food. I will NEVER be back to 5 Guys. Wake up and start providing customer service. read more

I've reviewed chain restaurants in the past, and as I've said before - it's not about the content, but about the quality. Was your experience pleasant? Was the wait-staff friendly and helpful? I have come to this location multiple times, and each time the total experience exceeds expectations. Food is always made to order, wait-staff is always pleasant and the restaurant is always clean and comfortable. In fact, it's not unusual to see staff cleaning the dining area during peak hours. We were shopping at a nearby pet store and though we had plans to eat at a healthier joint down the street, we couldn't resist the smells emanating from this place. The burgers are great and I love that you can choose your toppings. The fries are awesome and even the peanuts are delicious. This particular visit was notable because our fries didn't come with the usual overfill. I didn't complain because I thought we didn't need the extra calories but a super-friendly staff member came out and gave us the extra fries. I make a way better burger than this! Its a fast food place they are just that. All the grease makes the bread soggy. Not any flavor other than your add ons. Not a bad place going there for my first time. The burgers were pretty tasty. Made to order on the grill and not prepared ahead of time, it was a nice change from quick service burgers waiting to be fired out. Toppings were all made to order as well too, and the list was decent. 2 burgers, one order of fries , one soda, one milkshake came to a little over $23. The milkshake came with add ins for free as well. It was pretty good too- one of the better restaurant milkshakes I've had, and very generous on the add ins. Went during lunch, and it took probably 10 minutes at most to get our food. Fries were tasty as well. A little more than I'd like to consistently pay for lunch for two, but not much more expensive these days than the fast food mega chains. If you haven't tried them- give them a go and see what you think. read more

Thought I'd give this chain another chance to impress me. I have to go with my original assessment that it's overpriced fast food. They do cook to order but it's the same over cooked burger you get at most quick service restaurants. The fries are fresh cut but so full of grease you don't get a real potato taste. This is the first time I've been to this location and I must say I like how the place is setup better than the ones I've been to. You walk in and there's a walkway type thing for you to go up and order, then an area to get your drinks and pick up your order and the seating area is behind a wall in a sense. I like it. The staff were pretty friendly, minus the girl who took my order which I quickly brushed off. I wish the food wasn't as pricey as it is, but you pay for quality. I usually love this place. Great burgers and great fries. However, most recently I was in a rush and decided to order my food in advance on the app so I could quickly pick it up and be on my way. I showed up and the workers were not at the register and didn't come over to help me. When they did come over they asked for my name and went over the grab a bag before walking away and making more food. The app said the order was ready but I ended up waiting an extra 10 minutes. Great choice when you are craving a burger and fries. Consistent friendly service and good food. I like to keep my burger simple - - just grilled onions and mushrooms, however all of their toppings are no extra charge! I don't think you can get that anywhere else. I'm surprised, I like 5 Guys and Fries To start with, I don't much eat hamburgers anymore. If I do, it's usually at a cookout when the chicken is overdone. But my husband loves all that stuff, hamburgers, hotdogs, chilli dogs, bacon anything, and he's been wanting to try this new place. We live just around the corner and got take out, so the food was hot. And the burgers wrapped in tinfoil helped. I decided to get a cheeseburger the way my Dad used to cook them many years ago with fried onion, mushroom, green pepper & A1 steak sauce. I added the lettuce and tomato just to be healthy. lol I don't know if it was the nostalgia, but man was it good. I figured I'd pay for it later, but no need for any post dinner antacid. There is NO Burger joint in Warwick that can touch the flavor, price and convenience of 5 Guys! I think the staff there is great too. Young and bright and full of energy and almost always friendly. I order my burger without the bun because bread gives me a belly ache. While not always consistent or perfect, these kids wrap my burger in lettuce, like a bun, so I can still enjoy my American pastime without a fork and knife. The shift manager or leader back there usually oversee's and corrects workers to keep my items away from other gluten products. And I could see he took it seriously, which is comforting. The single burger is enough and a double will fill any hungry man especially when you add the over sized fries. I definitely recommend this place when your hankering for a good old fashioned burger or if you need to avaoid the bun like me. read more

We are big fans of Five Guys since the Warwick restaurant opened and have not had any complaints until tonight. Sometimes the fries are way too salty but that has been the only fault. However, tonight is a whole other story. The cheeseburgers were very overcooked but more importantly, the hamburger quality has changed drastically! The flavor is off and for the first time ever in our weekly experience, the burgers were terrible. Tonight's burgers were greasy, overcooked and had an off taste. Overcooking can happen but the flavor wouldn't change; either there is a new meat supplier or a new prep method. I suspect the meat is of a much lesser quality. First few times I can here it was the most amazing fast food burger I ever had. Lately I've been getting tired of it... I think I had to many of their burgers lol. But for a quick burger it tastes much better than drive through fast food places, although it is more expensive, I think it's worth it. I absolutely love Five Guys. I've been to a lot of different Five Guys locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Ohio. Out of all the places this particular location was my favorite. The person who took my order was really friendly and put me in a better mood. The food was ready quickly. I always get a Bacon Cheeseburger with mustard and this one was the best out of all the burgers I've had from Five Guys.
