Found this secret gem in Hazel Dell yesterday. Juiciest burger I've had in a long time. It seemed a little spendy, but when you get your order you'll see your getting your money's worth. I ordered a little cheese burger with a small fry which translated to: Good sized yummy burger at the bottom of a brown paper bag followed by a small cup of hand cut fries followed by a few more scoops of fries for good measure. I went here for the first time and it wasn't a great memorable first time. I took awhile deciding what to get, staring at the menu like a newbie. I asked a few questions and got sarcastic remarks thrown back at me so I just settled with the first thing on the menu. I wanted my burger to be medium and still got it fully cooked.and the burger wasn't out of the ordinary. Whatever I asked, I did not get it. The fries were not the "best" either. They were soggy. I came in a time that wasn't too busy, but wasn't empty either. Overall I haven't ever went there again. It's been years since I first stepped foot in there out of curiosity. I ordered online tonight for the first time. Ordering process was easy and quick. Unfortunately they forgot a few toppings that were listed on my receipt and even the bag. Absolutely delicious, fresh, filling burgers. These burgers taste natural and have juicy patties. I ordered a cheeseburger and an Oreo Creme milkshake. My husband also order a cheeseburger. The milkshake is so creamy and delicious! It doesn't have that fake sugar taste nor is it unbearably sweet. This place is not too spendy (burgers ranging from $6-8) and it's very natural-tasting. My biggest problem with this location is that I always order my fries extra crispy and 3 out of 3 times they weren't. I don't get it. Anyone who has made a fire or charcoal grilled burger at home, with New Seasons meat, and a quality fresh bun will find 5G far less than adequate. Gut Bomb - The "little" burger is about the size of a Whopper. The regular is double meat. The meat may be fried on a grill, but it is sopping with grease and has no sign of searing. It may as well have been steamed. Maybe it was. A properly grilled patty, even a high fat one, has most of the grease rendered out of it leaving tasty proteins and a reduced saturated fat content. The white bread bun is reminiscent of Wonder Bread - bleached out white stuff with a crust that is only color deep and not a trace of fresh baked crunch. It is more of an edible wrapper than a satisfying baked good. This burger is one that lays low and heavy for several hours after eating. Good thing, as it comes with a monumental calorie load. Top it with fries, and drown it in soda and you have most of what you need for the entire day. The peanuts are first rate. read more

Also, skip the hot dog unless you're really craving one. They're a rip-off for the price and there's nothing special about them. The fries are so-so. Great choice in the world of hamburgers! The little burger is more than enough for the normal person and the small fries can be shared between 2-4 people. We love that you can pick whatever toppings you want, including grilled mushrooms, grilled onion, jalapeños, hot sauce, etc, and there is no extra charge for the toppings! This restaurant almost killed my fiancee. She ate there for lunch and almost immediately was sick. Violently throwing up and had the runs, abdominal cramps, etc. It got worse to the point where we had to go to the hospital and she was burning up with a 105 degree fever. she was dehydrated from all the vomiting and diarrhea. I waited to post this until I knew how this franchise would respond because I wanted to give them a fair chance to make things right and to make sure it didn't happen again to anyone else. I let them know about the issue and they did respond and my family was denied due to lack of evidence. I'm not sure what evidence they needed as I sent them my receipt with time stamp and what was purchases, the hospital bills with time stamps and summary of what the doctors prognosis was. Maybe I should have went in with a black light to find the person who didn't wash their hands after using the restroom. She didn't eat anywhere else as that was her first meal and due to the illness her last meal. Even with the Ecoli break out that has been happening in the Pacific NW at Costco and Chipotle, the fact that 19 people across the street at Chipotle got sick doesn't seem to matter to them either. Any normal restaurant would have made whole what happened but this place did not do that and is now ignoring me. I have to admit that I'm a HUGE fan of In-n-Out burgers. (And shocked to find out recently that I was wrong to assume everyone else in the world is, too.) So I was excited to hear that there was a local chain in Vancouver, WA, to rival (or even beat) In-n-Out's amazing-ness. I was really impressed with the Cajun fries, the ability to select your toppings and the speed of service. Five Guys Burger & Fries came close, but In-n-Out is still #1. I recently visited the Vancouver site after hearing rave reviews about their food. The burger options were nice. Burgers were a tad under-done, toppings were great. Nice bun:meat:condiment ratio. Fries were terrible. There was a HUGE amount of them and none were really hot or cooked well. The fries had skins on, not something I expected. There was not an option for onion rings or milkshakes, but the iced tea was nice. Peanuts on the floor were a distraction. I would visit again but ONLY get a burger to go. read more

Wow, I am impressed. I just went to Five Guys for the first time and have to admit it was pretty good. They cook/fry in peanut oil, have a fully non-transfat menu and the staff really are friendly! The gal at the register gave us the newbie run through of the menu. I'm glad she did or we would have ordered too much. One large fry and one little burger per person fed 4 people and left us all satisfied. The only two things I would change: better bun options (whole wheat, etc...) and better quality beef. Fat kid heaven! The beef they use is clearly not lean, but it's delicious! I recently learned they are professionals at the lettuce wrap. I'm a huge fan of this skill. Years ago, I went to a Five Guys and absolutely hated it. Maybe it was an off day, but this time at Five Guys, it was great! If, like me, you can easily consume multiple burgers in one sitting (I am a fat kid at heart) but you don't want to fall over from a heart attack, I suggest getting the Little Burger. It's the perfect size and can be ordered in the same exact method as the normal sized burger...just minus the meat and toppings...and sheer size. My burger was perfectly done and I got all of the "traditional" toppings, minus jalepenos. Their fries are good, not too salty, and of course they're fresh. You'll see all of their potato bags lined up when you walk in. We got two normal sized burgers, fries, a drink, and my baby burger for $27 dollars. The staff at this store are particularly friendly - the gal up front [Lacey ?] is awesome - the boss should think about a raise and promotion for her. Friendly - and a hard worker. Minuses: a) sometimes it's cold from the HVAC b) the onion are bits or nibs (just leave' em as rings!) Some mention the prices - but for $11 (with WA tax) you get a cheeseburger, bottomless soda, and enough fries for 2-4 people. A solid value. I prefer it over Red Robin [pay for service, pain-in-the-ass bottomless fries, charcoal taste] and Burgerville [a once great local chain who forgot 'Burger' was in their name and how to make them]. read more
