Every single time, I've had nothing but exceptional service, and delicious food. I don't know what it is about this place, but it's just simply delicious. Today I got the cheeseburger and, it was cooked to perfection, every burger is a double there, unless you get a junior or whatever they call it burger. I showed up here at exactly 8pm on a Monday night. I was the only one in the place with 4 employees behind the counter. I placed my order, the cashier said "two patties" and nothing, the other employees were arguing about cleaning. After I was standing there for 5 minutes one of the employees said to another "did anyone put those patties on?" At this time I'm still the only one here, there are literally no burgers on the flattop grill. So obviously no. Even after that question was asked, THEY STILL DIDNT START THE ORDER. I guess it was one of those situations where they each thought the other was going to do it. Nevertheless, I was the only one in there still. So this never should have happened. Burgers? Yes, please! Five Guys Burgers and Fries is a chain burger joint. Their burgers are fresh, juicy, stacked any way you like them and they come hot off of the grill. The staff works as a well oiled machine. Although we haven't had them, there are hot dogs on the menu. I think they are Nathan's dogs. There is a board near the register that tells you where the potatoes are from. Alot of articles and reviews posted all over the walls. I haven't seen any newer dates on any of them so I'm wondering about that. This store is fairly clean and always busy. It beats the burgers, price and taste of Red Robins around the corner and beats the flavor and meatiness of Sonic and Steak and Shake, located across the street and next door. 4 burger joints, only Five Guys tops them. Let me preface this by saying I have spent a lot of time in Washington DC, the original home of FIVE GUYS. My brother and I were in the mood for a tasty, char-grilled burger, so we decided to go to FIVE GUYS. I have eaten there countless times, so my expectations are set quite high (and for good reason, because they are usually always met). However, on this dark Saturday, fate had another card to play. We meandered through the line and were met by a gracious cashier who promptly took our order. While waiting, we had noticed a certain cook was intently focused on "mastering" the perfect ketchup and mustard pattern by covering the entire bun in a sort of alternating criss cross pattern. While the gentleman may be taking pride in his craft, I can assure you this is not conducive to a quality burger experience... at least to anyone who doesn't like eating a sloppy, ketchup-drenched burger. This amount of ketchup would make honey-boo-boo blush. I felt like I was drinking it from a fire hose. The meal left me feeling unsatisfied, as I only ended up eating the patty, the bun had broken down into a red bread and ketchup paste within a few minutes. Two strikes and out. Tried the 5 guys in the Waterworks shopping center awhile back and was underwhelmed. Place was VERY loud and food was greasy. Figured I'd try again, this time up the road at Pgh Mills. Even worse. The greasy burger was the same (like an old-style Wendy's burger, but with more grease ladled on) but the fries were atrocious. Dredged in salt. Inedible. The bottom of the brown paper bag should give a clue as to just how much excess grease is in these. The bun/grease sponge becomes saturated and falls apart within minutes. If you set the bag on your car seat, it will be ruined. Imagine what this does to your arteries. $10 for a grease-burger and inedible fries? If I want a once a month guilty pleasure grease bomb, I expect it to be edible. One might presume that people giving this 5 stars have only McDonalds as a reference. That this place is rated 'best' anywhere serves only as a bellwether as to how bad other fast food actually is. Go to your local supermarket, buy some ground beef and throw it on a hibachi. read more
