Would definitely recommend this spot. Although the inside seemed a little tight it had a large outdoor patio. It ain't Houston with 100 degree so I may suggest the outdoor patio. It was also busy. The "corner store" beer, drink fridge was interesting. Grab whatever drink pleases you. This is probably the first and only restaurant I've ever been to that had this option. It feels very trusting & local as pretty much anyone can walk up and grab a beer or drink from the fridge and let their bartender know which drink you grabbed. Small towns are awesome but in my experience it's either a hit or miss. A fantastic place or a dump. They got 5 stars from me. Great job. -Joseph (Houston local guide)

I came in about 11:30 on a Saturday in September. I was greeted cheerfully by an employee. He was friendly and helpful with the menu. It was packed with grilled teriyaki chicken and veggies. I really enjoyed this sandwich.

The Rivera and Toyota are two of their core cheesesteak options (not specials), each with different toppings, and both were excellent. The bread-to-meat ratio is dialed in perfectly--soft roll, generous meat, and nothing overwhelms anything else. Every bite holds together, which is harder to find than it should be. I also tried the lug nuts (fried mushrooms) and fries. The lug nuts weren't my personal favorite, but the fries were solid. What really locked in the 5 stars was the service--friendly, attentive, and genuinely checking in without hovering. Skip the overthinking and order a cheesesteak. Carhops sticks to its strengths, and it shows. Bring CASH- only acceptable form on payment.

Ok, I'm from New Orleans, so I'm hard to impress with food. Having said that, my Reuben sandwich…read morewas pretty damn good. Maybe I went at an off time, it was about 2:00, but the service was horrible, as was the ambiance . I was sitting at the last booth, the farthest from the kitchen. I was all the way at the other end of the dining room, and the server was using her "outside" voice to talk with the kitchen the entire time. I could hear every word she said. She didn't shut up for like a half hour. I finally put my AirPods in to drown her out. When it was time for the check, she was way too busy talking to check on me. I had to go up to her to ask for the check. Good sandwich, crappy service.

This is a well run, well kept location of the popular chain restaurant. I've done online orders…read morethrough this location and have ordered in person and the experiences have all been positive. When you order in advance, your order is all packaged up and ready on a shelf on the side counter right inside the door which makes it easy to grab. The only downside is that it could be easy to accidently grab someone else's order. Hopefully if that ever happens they are able to easily remedy it. It is easy to order what you want and the staff is friendly and amenable to you asking questions or asking for modifications. I did notice they tried to upsell a little bit (asking about wanting to make it a combo and asking about adding extras like bacon or extra meat). Not a big deal, but they also don't clearly state that if you do do that, there will be an upcharge. Hopefully no one is surprised at the end when cashing out. I love that you can get any of the subs as a bowl. I'm not anti bread or choose to eat low carb, but sometimes it is more appealing for me to eat it in a bowl like a salad so I like that it is easy to do that here. Ingredients are fresh and everything I've ordered has been tasty. The restaurant is brightly lit, clean and well maintained. As is the parking lot around it. Definitely a great place to visit for a quick meal.

Had to share the Jersey Mike's experience with my granddaughter, so on the way home from picking…read moreher up from work, I stopped by to pick up a curbside order that I'd ordered on their app. I got the Club Supreme again (turkey, roast beef, and bacon), but this time I ordered the "mini." It's not so mini! I got the Famous Philly for my granddaughter ("regular" size). I was going to try the Famous Philly, but it doesn't come in the "mini" size. Sadly, none of their hot subs do. I lost my stomach to cancer, so I can't eat much in a single sitting, and hot sandwiches never taste the same when reheated. My sub was good, and my granddaughter (who is an extremely picky eater) said she liked hers. Trust me, she would have let me know if she didn't. The service was excellent again as well. The person who brought our order to the car apologized for the wait, but it wasn't their fault. The pickup time was 3:15 and we just got there early. The order was delivered right on time. The only thing I'll add because I know Jersey Mike's reads the reviews is the napkins. This isn't a knock on Jersey Mike's. It's just to let them know they need to be a little more cost conscious. For a regular and a mini sub, we got a total of (yes, I actually counted them) 22 napkins! I won't waste them, but Jersey Mike's might want to know they're losing money where they shouldn't be. Again, I'm not complaining about this, just trying to help them be a profitable business.

So this place is a long-term local favorite... You could totally tell. And not quite sure if people…read morehave become loyal because of location or because of the specials such as prime rib and really great hearty meals... But I can tell you your breakfast was very traditional. Nothing super exotic or trendy. I'm a Southern girl so I was looking forward to getting country fried steak, gravy and eggs... They're country fried steak is a special that's named after the owner or one of its friends or something... And all it is is steak and gravy... Kind of interesting for a breakfast dish. No eggs. And was one of the most expensive meals so adding eggs would have really put it over the top for breakfast. So I elected to go with a variation of hash browns that I'm accustomed to getting the south from waffle House... Scattered, diced which means tomatoes, and covered which means slice of cheese. Although they restrict the ability to buy beer and wine in grocery stores in Pennsylvania, there is no restriction on when you can get a alcoholic beverage like there is in the south... Bloody Mary with breakfast at 9:00 a.m.. there was a long line to wait for a table so my friend who's the local went to the other entrance for the package store and saw there was ample room at the bar so that's where we went. We split an omelette and got some bacon on the side. The bacon was clearly oven baked and extremely crispy and is barely flavorful. The waitress was nice and attentive at the bar. And she had the southern charm of calling us honey and sweetie even though she was younger than us. My friend says she used to come by there often when her kids were younger or for their weekly specials. It's a large restaurant so plenty of tables in the traditional space. And I guess because of not having extra weight stuff they didn't encourage sitting in the bar... We sat at the bar so had the direct attention of the bartender. You can see from the menu there's lots of options for food which is probably why it's such a popular place.

Local Monroeville flavor. Big portions... and just that hometown dive that every town needs!!…read more Being Gateway alumni, there is something nostalgic about Gateway Grill. Circling the small parking lot looking for your spot, reminiscing on the alumni sports team photos on the walls, and doing the twist in the entryway to navigate your way to your takeout, Gateway Grill is not much... but the food is usually fire!!! The pizza slices have big bubbling crusts with pepperoni so rustic cut that you will wonder if they accidentally gave you the whole piece... over and over again. Don't sleep on their meatball pizza. Because you will have basically full size meatballs for every slice... and they are delightful. We had family in and bought a large order - and we opted to try their sandwiches. The Chuck Roast sandwich and Turkey Rachel both sounded delicious... and Gateway Grill does have fresh smoked meats too! Takeout is a trip. In a full restaurant, you have to kinda stand in the way at the front counter and flag down someone to grab your order. But they definitely do a lot of to-go pizzas so you'll be able to handle it. Unfortunately, with their current to-go containers, the sandwiches ended up being sopping wet with condensation... the bottom toasted bread on both was basically dripping instead of crunchy. The fries had lost all texture too- air fryer to the rescue. I'd still recommend going - just stick to only pizza when ordering takeout until they find a way to ensure quality of other options.
