The chicken looked good on the outside, but was not seasoned and watery inside. Gross. The chicken breast wing was normal, yet the side wing was huge, which makes me feel it's not real meat. The cheese in the Mac and cheese was watery and the noodles wasn't cooked long enough. I asked for utensil and didn't get any. I only gave it a two because at least the customer service was nice. It was a waste of my time and money. I would not recommend nor go back

The gentleman and lady were so helpful and excited about their menu and told us they had a special that day on chicken wings that were smeared in a special rub and were supposed to be utterly delicious. My hubby ended up getting the wings and I ordered a nashville hot chicken sandwich. After a short wait, the food arrived and we were not disappointed. My sandwich was massive!! The chicken was so crispy with just the right amount of heat. The fries were delicious; so fresh and tasty. My hubby loved the wings. They were huge as well. You get three wings for $12.99 but that's all he needed to fill him up. The dining area is small, but they have local art on the walls that you can buy if you fall in love with one of them. Their bathrooms are spotless with lots of thoughtful amenities included. Whenever we are back in Pittsburgh we will definitely be checking on The Brinery again!

Nice private room with just us 4 so it was nice to be able to talk and visit. We had: 1-Mussels-they were good, it was a creamy Borbon sauce, think I like the garlic sauce better 1- Fried Risotto Balls-very good 2- Filets that were excellent and cooked perfectly 1- blackened Salmon, very good 1- crabcake-best I've had in PA (comparable to Ocean City , MD). Desserts we had Chocolate Cake and Tiramisu - both EXCELLENT Staff was very busy, working hard running around but was still very friendly. Great dinner on Valentine's Will definitely go back.

Called in and talked to Trish ... Asked if we could get a seat near the fireplace around 6:30pm. Trish said that shouldn't be a problem ...and said "the later the better" I said ok great, I'll call back and confirm. I called back 5 minutes later and said we'll be there at 6:45, she said "Great see you then". Showed up at 6:50 with a new business partner and was told "sorry we can't seat you near the fireplace and you'll have to wait 30 minutes." I asked the young boy at the host stand if Trish was there and he said yes ... I told him she had agreed on having us in at 6:45. All of this is just bad ... But what happened next was what brought this review. The young man came back and said Trish said "I never told him that"! You embarrassed me in front of a new business partner ... Good luck Guys ... we won't be back!

There's no signage outside for applewood so I consider it an almost burger speakeasy! The service here is pretty fast - we ordered a little after 5pm on a Sunday and got our food and finished it all before 6pm! The burgers we got were so flavorful and delicious and we were are blown away by this hidden gem!! My applewood burger was incredible and the maple sauce was delightful. November 2025: lightly edited realtime notes:…read more - This is like a pop-up restaurant that is inside of a bar. - Buffalo wings, Nashville hot wings. The wings are cooked perfectly. The sauce is weak. The fact that the wings are crispy and fried and 100% dead-on makes up for the weak sauce. All things considered, 4.2. Could be 4.6 to 4.8 with decent sauce. In retrospect, having tasted the sauce as a side (below) I think they tossed the wings in the sauce when they were too hot, kind of denatured things, and got too much oil in it. The sauce is actually very good, and these wings could have been a notch or two better if they had let them cool for just a hot second before tossing them. These wings have the potential to be some of the very best in the city. - Onion rings here are just absolutely perfect. Think of the best a Burger King onion ring could be, and these are four notches up from that. - The french fries are OK. - The side of buffalo sauce that they brought us from the kitchen is so much better than how the wings came out; I am presuming that the wings were tossed in the sauce too hot, and not enough. These guys actually have a great buffalo sauce. - I got the Smashburger. Cheese, lettuce, pickles and their special sauce. No substitutions permitted. This burger is excellent and exactly what I wanted. 10 of 10, would totally order again. - One of our group got the signature applewood burger."It's delicious!" - Another got the farmhouse burger and seems to be completely tickled with it. "It's really good. How can you go wrong with bacon and egg on a burger?" Unfortunately, restaurant was out of the cheese sauce tonight. We observed that the cheese sauce would've made it "fire." - J got the Cajun burger. "Awesome. Very good!" He wishes he would've asked them to add bacon to it.

Do not be scared of this restaurant's low average rating. Nearly all of these reviews are years old. My in-laws have eaten at this restaurant and have repeatedly told me that they really liked the good foods. In addition, my husband and I recently ate three entrees from this restaurant, and they tasted very good. The restaurant's menu lists appetizers (e.g., fried provolone, chicken quesadilla, pretzels with beer cheese, and spinach-artichoke dip), wedding soup, salads, wraps, entrees (e.g., chicken romano, chicken marsala, chicken parmesan, fish 'n chips, and pasta primavera), sandwiches, pizzas, desserts (e.g., chocolate-chip cookie skillet), and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. My husband and I arrived for dinner. A waitress promptly and courteously served us. My husband commented on how he liked the railroad-looking interior design. Here are my reviews of what we ate: BBQ Ribs - 4 stars - Dry-rub pork ribs were slow-roasted and covered in raspberry BBQ sauce. These ribs fell off the bone and tasted very good. They came with my choice of two sides, and I chose French fries and coleslaw, which I liked. Fettuccine Alfredo - 4 stars - Fettucine pasta and a flavorful alfredo sauce were topped with parmesan cheese and my add-on of shrimp. I choose a salad for my side. Large 12-cut Pizza - 4 stars - I chose toppings of mushrooms and green peppers. The cheese was not very gooey, and the crust was on the thinner side, but I liked this pizza very much. The total price for these three entrees was about $66 plus a tip. (Note that I have done a collab with this restaurant, but I paid *full price* for these foods and typed my honest opinion.)
