Macaroni salad
Keirstin C.

I've driven past this place for about six months since I moved here and I finally got a chance to head over for lunch. I think I was expecting more... something. I can't quite put my finger on it but everything was made quickly with quality ingredients. The sourdough bread was nice and soft while the crust was chewy.I got the Chrissy's club which I thought was lacking on meat compared to the DeVita's Italian that my friend got but I wasn't that hungry so I wasn't upset about it, but if you are maybe order double meat. The macaroni salad to me was bland and a little dry, my friend didn't seem to mind. I also ordered pasta salad, which was good. They use their own vinegar and oil based dressing with good noodle to stuff ratio. I also really enjoyed the cabbage soup. It was sweet, which I wasn't expecting, but I enjoyed it a lot. The inside is small, but we were able to sit down and eat our food. A lot of people came in for takeout though while we ate. This is a good spot for lunch if you are looking for a quick and simple lunch to go.

I LOVE your Deli, but please answer your phone! Almost every week I call and the phone's on hold, sometimes for hours! Recently, I tried 16x over 2.5 hrs and eventually just walked down... Please answer! I'd love to order your premium and delicious food!! I just tried again today, and its been on hold for since noon, (which prompted this review). I may not have time to walk down and wait, which is why I call ahead. Thank you, and I look forward to eating your food. Best Deli in the Pittsburgh area!! ***It is 10/28 today and i've been calling for the past hour! Looks like the owner hasn't seen my review! Oh well! Looks like he also won't be seeing the $40 a week I used to spend there. Bye!

Deli Dunker
Victoria C.

My boyfriend and brother in law decided to stop by here for lunch today and bring me some. I got the deli dunker which is basically a French dip and it was awesome! I couldn't even finish the whole 6" roll because it was stacked with meat. Definitely a great spot and I will be back again

The food here is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend the chicken salad, pasta salad, and CAJUN REUBEN. The staff are super friendly, and the service is extremely prompt. Big Dan is awesome! The recipes are all his, and everything is made fresh from scratch. This place is his passion and it shows in how GOOD the food is. Quality ingredients, quality service, and cute location! Would recommend to all!

There's not a lot of places to find open on a Sunday when you are under time constraints but since we wanted to get something fast my husband and I stopped here for lunch. Basically it is a grab and go sandwich shop but they do have a few tables for in house dining. The cold cuts are provided by Boar's head. They also serve breakfast sandwiches till about 1. They sell soup and they have a few groceries in the back for purchase. In addition they have specialty sandwiches of the day or you can build your own. My husband had an Italian sandwich with coleslaw while I settled for an oven roasted turkey on pumpernickle with lettuce and tomato. Drinks are available for purchase in a cooler near the restroom. They do have styrofoam containers to help you gauge the size of the portion you wish to purchase. We got our food after paying at the register and sat down. It was typical better end grocery food. Between the sandwich and the coleslaw that was enough for a quick bite. The deli is located across the train tracks directly opposite the Oakmont Bakery. There is a walkway if you are parking on that two way street which will safely get you across the train tracks.

Chuck Butt

Great sandwich, I had the Chuck Butt which is a corned beef on rye with coleslaw! Excellent! Lots of flavor, and the slaw was tasty. They have quite the selection of sandwiches and build your own, also. Then there's the gelato - wish I had taken some for the road, but not today . I'd recommend giving this place a try to anyone in the area!

Denise's DBQ Wrap

Love this place. I can't speak to their brunch offerings but I've ordered from the deli menu twice, both times have been very good. They have a build-your-own sandwich option but also plenty of signature sandwiches. Both the Denise's DBQ and Bertha's Buffalo Chicken wraps were excellent. Pretty large too. The creamy cole slaw and loaded potato salad area also great. Prices are reasonable. They also have some daily specials and plenty of soups, will definitely be back to try some of their other things.

Pittsburgh's-own Primanti Bros is famous for mile-high sandwiches stacked with fries and slaw, so,…read morepassing the outskirts of their hometown (Nov 2025), we pulled into one off I-76 just north of the Allegheny River. We were obviously fresh from the road, and Kayla made us feel welcome with quick cheerful attention. This restaurant is vast, including a 20-seat TV-filled bar and an enclosed maybe-20-seat patio, and plenty of on-site parking. Prices looked pretty good, and we went for some lighter fare, if there is a lighter form of huge :-) We got a well-named "colossal" original "almost famous" fish sandwich for $11.50, fresh crispy tender flakey fish, i think it's cod, lightly fried but not oily, with the filet wider than the sandwich. The thick slabs of lightly toasted Italian white bread were stacked with perfect fries, crispy outside and tender inside. And they added a layer of a vinegar-forward slaw that added flavor much like a mild fresh sauerkraut. They gave us some sauces, too, and now and then we added some mildly spicy-sauce for some extra bite, which is how I like my fried fish :-). And there are so many sandwich options we easily could have stacked it even higher! We also got a big salad, remarkably reasonable at $5, fresh crunchy lettuce, cucumber, and sliced tomato, with the rich flavors of hard-boiled eggs and cheddar, crunchy croutons, and the clever tasty addition of roasted corn kernels. Both of these dishes were so generous that, after eating all we dared while traveling, we still had half of each to carry out with us for farther down the road. Primanti's has almost 40 locations within 100 or so miles of their hometown, Pittsburgh, with four just off I-76, and they even have a location in Baltimore! Next time we're close to the BWI airport, we'll work our way over there.

The menu is filled with modern ingredients and popular dishes. I've eaten brunch, lunch, and dinner here.. but this outing was just for lunch! I ordered the Pickle Fried Chicken sandwich with a side of Onion Rings. As you can see, the sandwich was HUGE. Not just a simple chicken breast, but a butterflied breast that could feed a small family. Even with the toppings piled on, the bun held up and the sandwich was sooooo good. Don't sleep in the onion rings... these were basically deep fried bracelets. I'd consider it as an appetizer for the family with how large the portion was. Everyone at our table grabbed a to-go box.. even those who ordered just a salad. To top it off, the service was phenomenal. Even with a pretty busy midweek lunch service, our waitress was always available for refills and any request.

The menu is kind of limited but the quality definitely makes up for it. I got to try their yucca fries with chicken. It was amazing. A little too salty for my liking, but still, really really good, and a very fair price for the nice portion. The fries were super crispy and so flavorful. The chicken was perfectly cooked in these crumbles, and it added a nice extra savory touch. The sauce was creamy and all around great. All in all, definitely try this place out if you ever see it around. Sometimes it is by Old Thunder, which is where I got to try them out.

My husband and I ate one breakfast here on a Saturday morning. An employee immediately and courteously greeted us and seated us at a clean and spacious table. Soon she took our order and brought out our drinks and foods. At the end of the meal, she promptly processed our payment and thanked us. Here are my ratings for what my husband and I ate: Turkish Plate - 4.5 stars - I think that Gino might be Turkish, and this entree was one of the few Turkish menu items. It consisted of scrambled eggs, black olives, two cheeses, sliced tomato and cucumber, French fries, toasted bread, jelly, honey, and butter. Fruit Tea Waffle - 5 stars - A waffle was topped with Nutella, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and powdered sugar. The fruits were very fresh, abundant, and sweet. On the side was whipped cream. Egg-bacon Omelet - 4 stars - My husband ate this omelet, and he thought that it tasted good. It was a good size, and it contained bacon, onions, and mozzarella cheese. On the side were three plain pancakes. Orange juice - 4.5 stars - This orange juice contained some purple and tasted fresh.
