Munching on and oreo cream Milkshake

I have always in between five guys or in&out. But this time five guys for me. A Team that was working today was amazing, i have witnessed an employee that was really great. A special teen came in and politely asked if he could purchase a drink only and not food, the employee responded to him " its okay i will give you this cup so you can get what ever drink you like" and the teen responded " really? Thank you very much". The gesture that this employee has given to the kids amazed me even in a simple way. We need more of these people. Five guys corporate you guys should take care of him. Also burgers is always our favorite to top it up while waiting for our meal munching on you peanuts is great. love it

I love this location and I love five guys. They have a combo deal that's like 14 bucks for a burger fries and a drink. Kinda breaks the whole thing about five guys being too expensive. It ain't anymore. I told the cashier I wanted it extra good and they did not play with me. Gave me the best cheeseburger of my life that I died and was born again. Place is always clean and fast. Love those fancy ah soda machines. No complaints. I'll be back. Staff are charming and funny

Service was great and the place had plenty of seating. Ended up with a hotdog and fries which had just the right amount of seasoning as expected. No complains. Let's talk about that sink in the men's restroom. Did I get wet? Yes. Is it hilarious? Yes. But seriously,...who designed this? Haha

The place was clean and the people were nice. But it was the greasiest hamburger I've ever had in my life. I didn't wanna touch my iPhone to take a picture of the burger cause I was so greasy. AND if you like crispy fries, forget about it because they cook these fries in peanut oil, or so I was told, you can never get crispy fries. Not my cup of tea or hamburger.

Regular Cajun Fries

When I got the fries, I honestly thought it was a prank. The amount of seasoning dumped on them was insane. At first, I hoped it was just the top layer, but when I poured them out, seasoning literally fell out like sand. They were completely inedible. I called the store to let them know because I hate wasting food, especially when people are starving, and it felt so disrespectful that someone knowingly sent fries like that. It was enough seasoning for four orders, and I only had one. The manager, Andrew, left me on hold for over 7 minutes, didn't even introduce himself until I pressed him twice, and never once apologized or acknowledged the issue. He didn't ask for pictures, didn't try to make it right, and showed zero empathy--even after I explained how upset I was that I had to throw the food away. I only called to give them the courtesy of direct feedback, but after that lack of accountability or basic customer service, I feel compelled to post this review. Whoever prepared those fries knew exactly what they were doing, and the manager Andrew's dismissive response made the entire experience even worse.

The burgers are good and the fries are OK, they seem soggy most of the time. Honestly, I would rather go to Carney's down the street.

What's not to like?!? Kind of pricey, and everything is fattening, but it's all delicious.

Such is the case with Heavy Handed, which debuted as a backyard pop-up just before the shutdown. Heavy Handed distinguishes itself on the basis of its short rib burger base and meme-filled marketing. Heavy Handed transitioned to a food truck in 2021 and now operates two brick-and-mortar locations across LA (this Silver Lake location just closed its doors). The Silver Lake outpost took over the space of beloved diner All Day Baby on a bustling strip of Sunset. The exterior combined HH's signature sunset-orange color palette with psychedelic, LA- and burger-themed murals designed by local artist DJ Neff. The spacious dining room was warmly lit by a red neon strip running the length of the ceiling. Seating options ranged from upholstered half-booths to standard wooden tables and chairs to the bar counter around the corner. Classic rock echoed around the room. My partner and I visited for weekend lunch. We ordered immediately, and our food was available within minutes. We opted to split a Double Short Rib Burger. Immediately, I was impressed by the crispy, slightly charred edges around the circumference. Meanwhile, the center bites were addictively rich and juicy. The thick-cut pickles added a vinegary snap, while the diced onions were caramelized to a jam-like consistency. The service was friendly and efficient. At first, we raised our eyebrows at the $13 pricetag, but we were satisfied with the generous portion and delicious taste. In a busy, burger-heavy neighborhood (including wildly popular peer smash burgers at The Win-Down and Goldburger), this was our favorite one.

ALL ABOARD the train is about to move, so grab your seats, before you miss the train. I am so surprised that I haven't done a review on Carneys all these years that I have been going there. This place is iconic, historic, yet practical in every way. It's a burger joint that makes you feel like you are really eating in the train, but the train is not moving. I can't say enough good things about Carneys and the staff. Always helpful, kind, nice, take your order and in less than 5 minutes, you grab a seat on the train and eat whatever you have ordered. It's SO good! In every way! I was doing last minute Christmas shopping around the area and was craving some Cheeseburger and their chili fries. Let's not forget there chocolate dipped bananas. YUM! Walked in on 12/23/25 and there were like 7 people ahead of me. That line was cleared so fast that I didn't even feel like I was standing in line. Got their regular Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, light onions, with their Thousand Island dressing, Also got regular size chili fries and the food was sooooo gooooood!!!! They have jalapeño peppers, chili peppers, and all the other condiments that go with great hot dogs, burgers, fries and all. Place is super clean, abundant parking spaces, cute patio, and right outside of the restaurant they have 2 bathrooms. Both clean!! Good menu options to choose from! See you again very soon. Solid veggie options including a Garden Burger, Hungry Plant (Vegan) Burger, Veggie Sandwich and others. For some reason Carneys, unlike Tail O the Pup, Cupid's, Pink's, Tony's Darts Away, Dog Haus and lots of other great Hot Dog spots doesn't have a Veggie Dog option. I do love and appreciate the Hungry Planet Burger for sure, but it be nice if they introduced this. People have been asking for years. Gluten Free options available, including buns, and they do their best to cook things separately to reduce any crossover. Though I do love getting my burger Lettuce Wrapped, and they do a good job. Great service. Great prices. Clean Restrooms. Pet friendly Family friendly. Good for lunch, "linner" and "dinner," as well as takeout or delivery. Open 7 days a week from 11AM until 10PM

Ventured into Hi Ho at the height of Friday dinner time, when the whole Sportsmen's Lodge shopping…read more& dining nook was packed with people, including at least 75 kids under the age of 6. Yowza! Luckily, Hi Ho wasn't quite as busy as the pizza and ice cream shops, but there were still quite a few folks, and the staff did manage to tend to everyone nicely. If you haven't been, Hi Ho is a simple, fast food burger joint in terms of decor, but the menu (from the same people who own Matu) is a small, curated selection of very high quality options: mostly Wagyu burgers in a few different configurations, and chicken tenders + some very good, hand cut fries. This time I opted for the Pastrami Heat, a double cheeseburger fortified with spicy grilled onions and a not-too-large topper of Wagyu pastrami. I don't usually go for such an elaborate burger, but I just had a hankering. And while I won't say the burger was small, it was not as ridiculously enormous as you might get other places. The double patties were juicy and flavorful, nicely seasoned and coated in properly melted American cheese. The spicy grilled onions did pack a nice punch, but there weren't a lot of them, so their effect was minimal (definitely could use more of those). House-made pickles were pleasingly artisan, with a layered, briny flavor far more enjoyable than the commercial dill chips usually deployed. Finally, the Wagyu pastrami was really quite good. Marbled and juicy without be too fatty or too rich, thinly shaved and portioned just large enough to make its presence known without becoming unwelcome halfway through. Though decadent for sure, this was an enjoyable treat that was only about 50% guilt-inducing. Fries were fresh, hot, crispy and well done, cooked in beef tallow. Also a treat. Prices are in line with what you're paying at other fast casual burger places like Five Guys or Burger Lounge, but the quality here is definitely a step above, so you could almost say it's a deal. Of course, if you also stop into neighboring Erewhon for a smoothie, your budget will be blown.

If you're a burger lover and haven't tried HiHo yet, you're seriously missing out. Easily one of the best burger spots around.

Mouth Smashed keeps it simple--and that's exactly why it works. We got the triple smashed burgers. The patties are thin, crispy on the edges, and packed with flavor thanks to that perfect smash on the griddle. Each bite has that ideal balance of juicy beef, melty cheese, and a slightly toasted bun that holds everything together without getting soggy. If you're adventurous, get the pocket style chicken sandwich. It comes out piping hot and crunchy. Their house made chili and wedges are also really good. What really stands out is the consistency. Whether you go classic or add-ons, the flavors are clean and intentional--nothing feels overcomplicated. The seasoning hits just right, and the sauce adds a subtle tang that elevates the whole burger without overpowering it. The vibe is very great: low-key, no-frills, but quality-focused. It's the kind of spot you go to when you just want a really good burger done right--no gimmicks, no distractions. End your meal with the salted caramel shake and you're in heaven at that point. Bottom line: the Mouth Smashed Burgers delivers exactly what a smashburger should be--crispy, juicy, and crave-worthy. Definitely a must-try if you're exploring the burger scene in LA.
