The fries are great here. They are seasoned heavily and you get a ton of them. The burgers are good and I like the huge variety of "free" toppings, like grilled onions, jalapeños, grilled mushrooms, etc. The toppings are all free but, of course, you're paying for them in the price of the burger. My burger patties could have been seasoned more but they were still tasty. Unlimited free shelled peanuts make an outstanding appetizer. I could (did) eat a hundred of them.

I went for a burger and fries. Guess what, that's what I got. Not much more, other than a few peanuts and not much less other than I didn't use any ketchup for my fries. What I did get was a complimentary cup for tap water and an $18 charge for a double cheese burger, small fry and the ol' option for a tip (suggestion starting at 18%) when swiping my card. Sorry, no tip today guys. I was order number two (2) today as I had arrived shortly after the 11am opening on this Wednesday morning. Food came out hot and fresh and the burger was tasty, flavorfully fatty, and moderately messy but not worth the double price I paid for the last 1/3lb burger combo with fries that I got from Tip Top Meats (read my other reviews). A good burger and fries here at 5-Guys, but the hype today was its location near my vehicle and me not wanting to walk across the parking lot to get sushi instead. Sushi would have been just a touch more on the healthier side as the fry bag today also had its characteristic 5-Guy grease stains. Today, I left after using many napkins yet satisfied but with a much lighter wallet. Honestly, just another burger. Dicks

The burgers come by themselves, so fries, tots, and dips are extra. They also do monthly specials, which makes me want to come back and try something different next time. I was also surprised by how good the desserts were. They're made by a pastry chef and honestly better than I expected from a burger place. There's plenty of parking lot parking, plus both indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed on the patio, and they even have a $4 puppy patty (3 ounce smash burger with no seasoning) for them, which I thought was really cute.

The food was the main star of the show - especially the smokehouse burger/slider. The flavor was all there and the patty was juicy and just over all delicious. The grilled chicken club was a little dry, but it was in a slider version so I imagine that's bound to happen. The cheeseburger slider was good, but not amazing - patty was still cooked enough to be juicy, and it was enjoyable. The fries were yummy, but not out of this world. It's possibly because I'm not the biggest fan of steak fries, but I'd eat them again. Overall, a great place to stop by in the area and would definitely visit again to try other items. Will definitely look into what others enjoyed so I can try those too!

I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

Because Draft Republic is a rough place to quantify. The food is pretty good; if going off that alone, this place would easily be four stars in my eyes. But, it's not ... Draft Republic is trying to be a bit closer to like a mini Dave & Buster's (a place I have come pretty close to loathing). With an arcade, a bowling alley, a golfing simulator, a full bar, pretty extensive menu, good music, and a fantastic staff, they really have a lot going for them with a little something to make anyone happy. My own issue deals solely with the cost. Came here with my son, all we did was eat two entrees and an appetizer between us, and did nothing else. With drink and after tax and tip, the cost was well over $90. No games, no play, just burgers (plus fries and poke tacos) for two, costs as much as many Californian's net after a full day of work. When you're used to feeding the whole family for about half as much when going out (or a little more when eating sushi), that price was a bit rough. Still, the food is very good. My son and I each ate The Draft Republic Burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, very flavorful, and the toppings were high quality. The fries were crisp and salted well. And the side salad wasn't too bad. Both of us ate our entrees and gave it high marks. We had started with the Tres Poke Tacos, where the Tuna was very tasty, steeped in a flavorful marinade, and felt nice and fresh. Definitely a good starter. And the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A lot of space, beautifully furnished, kind of industrial meets art deco with some new age greenery architecture thrown in. I like it a lot. But, as an aging Gen-X'er, who used to go to arcades back in the day, and hates what new arcades have become, the amenities are under appreciated by me. All of that pads the price tag a bit out of what I am willing to pay just for dinner. Which may not be fair to Draft Republic, but that's where it left me.

TANNER'S PRIME BURGER Got it as a double. Burger is a good size and it was very filling! For one person, it is a lot! Better come hungry because it is hard to eat the whole burger when you ate already. Maybe for guys it might be different though. The smashed patties were very juicy and dripping with beef fat! The crisp lettuce, sliced sweet onions and tomatoes helped keep the burger from being too heavy. They also give you a small Cascabella Pepper too. They serve your burger with their bottle of sauces brought together on the side. I liked their hot sauce which tasted like Frank's RedHot. Their main burger sauce was the typical burger sauce you get, kind of reminded you of McD sauce and In N Out sauce without the pickle juice tang. Ordered the Tanner's Prime Burger as a single burger for my mom, but did not try the single burger. But everything looked good! For those who only want more meat and cheese flavor in their burger, order Tanner's Prime Dirty Double. KIDS PRIME SLIDER Got this for my mom, but she did not like it after a bite of it, so I ate most of it. It is a simple slider with a single patty with American cheese on a brioche bun. There's also their own sauce called Tanner Sauce. It is a slider, so it is smaller than Tanner's Prime Burger, but the smashed patty was bigger than the brioche bun, so it was quite filling! Since it was grilled in tallow fat, you can taste it too and it can feel heavy after a few bites. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this. Tanner's Prime Burger is much better with the crisp lettuce, onions and tomatoes to cut the tallow fat. Love that they offer salad too, Tanner's Prime Burger Salad, everything minus the bun. TALLOW FRIES This was crispy and nicely salted. Slightly more saltier than I'd like though. It was good, but wished it was cut thinner, like McD fries. Overall it was good and I ate it with their hot sauce. After eating all this, your hands will smell like tallow. So wash your hands more than once! Wanted to get their beef tallow vanilla ice cream sandwich called Tanner's Fatty Patty, but sadly they did not have any that day. CUSTOMER SERVICE The whole staff was friendly and smiling. Good service overall. SEATS Plenty of seats indoors and outdoors! Sat in the booth and it was very comfy! Two unisex bathrooms available. PARKING It is a small parking lot, but there is street parking too. Overall, I had a good experience, but I will admit that the patties cooked in beef tallow is quite new to my palate. It was a heavy burger for my palate. Tasty, but heavy and healthier, too. I would definitely return when I'm given another chance to come by this way!

Eating at Tanners is usually a real treat. I have celiac disease, and it is medically necessary for…read moreme not to eat gluten. In addition to offering gluten free buns AT NO UPCHARGE, Tanners safety protocol marks gluten free buns automatically as a gluten allergy. I have eaten here several times, and not been sick once. My issue with today's visit stems with our order being to go. The gluten free burger is not marked on the box, and it's not super obvious that the gluten free bun is gluten free. It's a funny complaint, because usually gluten free buns are terrible and obvious, but Tanners are by far the best gluten free buns of any restaurant. When we ordered to go the first time, the fries were included with the regular bun. Unfortunately, that made the fries unsafe for me to eat so my husband had to eat all the fries himself. Tonight we ordered three burgers, 2 regular and 1 gluten free. As we ordered, we requested the fries be included with the gluten free burger. (The 2 regular burgers did not want fries) When we arrived to our destination, the fries were crammed in the same box as the 2 regular burgers. The fries were all over the regular buns... rendering them unsafe for me to eat. I called Tanners to report the issue. The person who answered the phone said because we ordered a gluten free burger, their protocol is that only the gluten free burger can go in the box. Nothing else is allowed in. So I asked "When we ordered the fries and requested they be with the gluten free burger, why were we told 'sure' instead that the fries can't go in the gluten free burger box?" They paused, and answered "I'll tell them this happened." The big problem with this, is the person who answered the phone IS the person who placed our order. The name they said on the phone (Hello this is blah blah) is the name of the server on our receipt. Ordered Thursday 5/21, order 378. I don't take issue with the safety protocol of keeping the gluten free burger separate. I appreciate it! My issue is I made a specific request, was told "sure" instead of "no, because" Had we been told at time of ordering the gluten free has to be completely alone, then we could have requested a separate box. Had the server apologized for the error and taken ownership, I wouldn't be leaving this review. But the person who made the error answered the phone, and this is the only way to hold them accountable. I am not posting their name, but hopefully Tanners can see who it was from the date and order number posted above. I don't enjoy paying for food I can't eat.

To my surprise Water Shack's burgers were delicious and satisfying that I find myself coming back here ever so often. Their burgers aren't the heavy, greasy/high fat patties you would get from other places. However, their 1/4 lb patties are their smallest patties and heft makes for that ideal bun to burger ratio. Did I need to order double patties on most of my burger orders? Probably not. Their patties are on the leaner side but they aren't dry; and the fixings from any burger you choose will satisfy that meaty burger fix you're looking for. The Chicken Patty Melt is also a very tasty item. Very cheesy, buttery and crispy toasted bread with chicken breast. Their fries and onion rings also come air-fried so this place focuses more on the healthier comfort food options that wont leave you feeling heavy and drowsy. This place is also doubled as a purified water dispensary and also serves baked goods and ice cream.
