I ordered the Pesto Burger and was surprisingly pleased on how massive it was. I typically do not like blue cheese (or maybe it was feta), but it really worked here. I ordered this to-go so I can't say too much about the service and ambiance. I can say that my family really enjoyed their meals.
I love the burgers here. Super fresh, and very flavorful. The fries are bomb also... they look like they will be thick tasteless potatoes but they are delish. Give this place a try... you won't be disappointed!
Yum! They have many options and it's nice that the have large photos of each burger which makes visualizing what you're going to order easier. I ordered a junior shack burger which was just 1 smash burger patty instead of their standard 2. Even if I didn't get a double patty, my burger was still significantly bigger than say a McDonald's cheeseburger. We also ordered a mushroom burger which was a double patty burger w sautéed mushrooms. Both burgers were nice, juicy and with the right amount of char on the edges of the patties. We also ordered a regular side of their flat cut fries. Super bomb! Crispy and not too greasy! Parking is easy and there's indoor eating. No restroom though, but that's okay. Will be back!
Came here on a Wednesday and had their buy 1 brgr get one 50% off which was a killer deal. The place had a simple clean vibe and the menu small and easy. Especially since you see what you're getting with the posters of each food item on the wall. The guy at the front was super nice and even gave us some extra fries for my dad's birthday! Of course, food was amazing! Their patties are delicious and I love how the fries are wedges. The mushroom burger actually had a decent amount of mushroom too! My only complaint is the blue cheese on the pesto brgr overpowered the flavor, but I'd just recommend asking for them to go light on it/put it on the side and add yourself.
If you are looking for a delicious burger and friendly service, look no further. Not a fancy place, but who needs fancy when they just want a delicious burger prepared by people that care. And they will prepare it exactly like you want it. I said grilled onions and ketchup only and that's how I got it.
This place is a true gem. Don't let its unassuming front fool you, these guys make burgers very well. This is my second time in and both times I'd rate the burger an honest 9/10. The only draw back I have to this place is their menu has so many appealing options that I have a hard time deciding on what to order. So in true indecisive fashion I ordered myself two: the mushroom and Swiss and the pesto burger. Which the staff were nice enough to slice in half for me so I could try them both at the same time. It was decadent, perfectly cooked, cheesy, delicious, and something new and exciting. The shop itself is a modest one, clean, but nothing fancy. Has fun decor all over. I hope these guys pop off because I'd love for this place to stick around.
Who doesn't love a burger!!?? Want a hamburger meal that will fill you up and is very tasty, here's a winner! Inside Vons shopping center. Nice menu and cutely decorated with large sized burger pictures on the wall off their menu. Service was excellent and the young lady behind the counter answered questions for us first timers. She was busy cleaning equipment and front counter- which was nice to see. We will be back Brgr Shack!
Updated review: Me and my husband come back here so often!! This is probably our 4th visit back now. I'm really glad the staff has read my review because after my first initial review of the fries, they decided to cook the potatoes a little longer and they stayed extremely crispy even when we got home from doing a pick up order! We decided to try different burgers during this time and got the normal fries to see if there would be a difference. There definitely was, so I really appreciate it!! The fries were so perfect. We come back to try different loaded fries every time. The 3rd visit we got the Flaming Hot Chkn Fries. Oooo my gosh, the garlic sauce was so good and the fries stayed so crispy despite all the toppings; but the spiciness is not to be messed with. The Serrano peppers were so spicy but gave the flavor of the fries such a great taste with the sun-dried tomatoes! We also tried the Chkn Loaded Fries & I actually liked that one the most. It's just simple, and the cheese & the fried chicken were so good on the fries! Sort of felt like fry nachos. The mushroom & Swiss brgr is also fire! Don't skip out on this place.
BB and i tried this place out a couple of weeks ago. We both had classic burgers with fries. I ordered a side of their garlic sauce, and a side of their cheese sauce. The burgers were delicious. Smash burger style with two patties, not overcooked (medium), cheese, vegetables, mustard and ketchup. Buns were toasted nicely. Their fries are more like crisscut potatoes but were good as well. I liked the garlic sauce; however, the cheese sauce was served refrigerator cold, which I did not like. The inside is quite small, there is only about 4 tables. Would probably come back again to try some of their other items.

Located in the Von's shopping center. I forgot how I heard about this spot but as soon as I heard "smashburger style", I went. Simple menu consisting of burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries & more. Customer service was friendly. Classic Brgr: I ordered this to go so I was sad when I opened my meal at home. The bun was extremely burnt, both sides. & the patty was crispy & dry.
This is my first time at this place, so far the ambient is good, the place is small with 8 tables enough room it's nice, the service is great , clean , my wife got the Classic BRGR and I got the FLAMING HOT BRGR. Great flavor, fresh, good size!

Smashed burgers are really good because the Maillard reaction that sizzles and chars the Brgr on the grill. Add onions, a little seasoning, you got yourself a tasty Brgr. Brgr Shack has almost perfected the smashed burger grilling and I appreciate the unique style of giving you a selection of variations of a the Brgr to choose from. 1) Shack Brgr: very tasty and the grilled onions was a nice addition. The Maillard reaction still produced a very juice Brgr with a soft tasty bun. The juices soaked into the bottom bun making it a soggy mess. A little salty, but, good. 2) Mushroom & Swiss Brgr: wife ordered this, but, got full on the Beef Loaded Fries (more on that later). Yet, she brought it home and reheated in microwave and she loved it!!! The Brgr reheated well. She said it was still juicy and well seasoned. Must have been good because she ate the whole thing!!! 3) Beef Loaded Fries: well, my wife also loved this and ate half at the Shack. The fries are thick chips, topped with crumbled Brgr, grilled onions, cheese and pickles. This was a favorite for us. The meal was good and filling. Something happened with the order and the kitchen didn't get the order slip. Had to go up and asked and the cook profusely apologized for the mixup. He quickly put our order together in a little over 5 minutes and the counter person also apologized for the inconvenience. Brgr Shack comped an order of plain fries which turned out well because we used those chips to scoop the toppings of the Beef Loaded Fries. The fries underneath got soggy quick. And there was no forks to be found. Stars subtracted for lost order and no forks. Will try again of course. The dining room was clean with ample tables and chairs. They have a wall full of studio quality pictures of the menu items. There is lots of parking in an older (the surface of the parking lot were full of cracks and pot holes) strip mall. Definitely a return visit call!!! Returning on a Wednesday to take advantage of the Crazy Cow 50% Discount on 2nd Brgr. Yes!!! read more

Came here because I saw it driving through the parking lot. Im glad I stumbled upon this place!! This is a small business, so please go support! The man behind the counter was so friendly and was so happy to help me, even before closing for the night. He had a great attitude, and the food was delicious and made fresh! I ordered a Buger and fries and they tasted so good! Highly recommend this place!! :) read more
Man, we really wanted to love this place! I was craving a burger after a long work day and a workout, and Brgr Shack has been on our list for a couple of months now. The cashier was friendly and it wasn't crowded. The food took a little while, but we were happy to wait. Everything looked amazing upon arrival, but to our dismay, the burgers were SO SALTY! My partner even said, "you know it's too salty when I notice, because I love salt!" I wonder if some cooks over season and some under season, because I see other reviews for "salty" OR "bland." I think we would've preferred bland, it was THAT salty. Like mouth-puckeringly, eye-twitchingly salty, somehow. The ingredients on the burgers were tasty, though. Perfectly caramelized onions, for example. The fries were pretty good, although the ranch I requested was not so good. Tasted just like cheap bottled ranch. The Maple Sriracha sandwich sounded great, and looked great, but the flavors felt disjointed. It was moderately better once we removed most of the large mound of coleslaw on it, but we were hoping to taste more "maple." The ambience felt kinda sterile, too. I don't think we'll be back, unfortunately. read more

Hidden gem in East Escondido! We're so glad you are here, BRGR Shack! We tried the Classic Burger, Pesto Burger, Chicken Tenders (2 piece), Regular Fries and Loaded Fries (without the meat). Everything was super flavorful. I loved how their fries are cut (rounds / ovals crinkle cut) and seasoned. Everything tastes fresh, homemade and gourmet at the same time - without the gourmet pricing. The burgers come with 2 smashed patties that are perfectly crispy around the edges and juicy in the middle. We threw on an order of the 2 piece chicken tenders to try their chicken and were shocked at how big the pieces were. I was expecting 2 tiny strips of chicken, and it looked like we got 2 chicken breasts. They were peppery and crispy on the outside, and warm and moist on the inside. Everyone loved it. The owner was super friendly, nice and was ready to make recommendations to us as we were deciding what to order. They must be pretty new still, because they are still setting up the different fountain drink machines. I'm excited to see what the future holds for them - we'll be back for sure! read more

We were in Escondido and craving a real burger, so we decided to check out Brgr Shack. We are so happy we did! Brgr Shack is located in the Vons shopping center, so there's plenty of parking (always a plus). The menu is simple, but good. Order at the counter, pay, fill your cup/drink, and take a seat. The food will be out shortly, it's made to order. Upon entry, we were greeted and an employee offered recommendations based on our preferences. I ordered the Shack Junior (one beef patty, pickles, cheese, ketchup). The burger was made fresh and full of flavor. The ingredients were great quality and super fresh. The meat was tender and juicy. My friend ordered the Pesto Brgr (double beef patty, balsamic onions, arugula, tomatoes, blue cheese, pesto aioli). The Pesto Brgr was very flavorful. The combination of blue cheese and pesto aioli was quiet surprising. I plan to order this burger next visit. The fries are thin potato slices with great seasoning. The fries were crisp and resembled the appearance of a potato chip. Great texture and taste. The menu also includes different types of chicken sandwiches and apps (loaded fries, tenders). If you are in Escondido, swing by for a good burger and fries, you'll thank me later. read more

We ordered a Shack Junior burger, A Shack Burger (w/ fresh onions instead of grilled), a side of fries, and a couple of fountain drinks. Food was prepared FRESH, (saw them hand making the patties) and took about 15 minutes. It was VERY good...and the price for all of that was quite reasonable in today's prices (about $28 for everything). Service was very friendly, dining area is quite simple, but clean. If we lived in this area, it would be a regular place to eat for sure! read more
Up and coming burger and chicken sandwich place in East Escondido. I'd describe the burgers as smashed style. Thin and very flavorful. The meat glistens as it fights for your attention over the melting cheese. Be prepared for a flavor bomb. In general the Burgers lean to the more gourmet style. They're not quite there yet. But they're new, I'm sure they'll refine their burgers over time. * The hot style is basically chopped seranno peppers. Careful, these are very hot. * Chicken sandwich were a bit small, but fine. * Only a drink fridge, no fountain drinks. read more
This place is great, but I wish the wait wasn't so long! I know they make it fresh and that's great, but I went when it was hardly busy and still waited almost 25 minutes for my order of two burgers. Hands down the absolute best burgers and fries around! What a value, too! The bun isn't overly dense yet still substantial enough to handle the stack of beautiful ingredients. Excellent proportions. My favorite is the flaming hot burger because I have a weakness for anything spicy! The heat of the jalapeños paired with the sweet tang of the sun-dried tomatoes, piled with fresh green arugula, the juiciest and perfectly cooked meat patties, with just the right amount of cheese. It's the perfect size to hold it with one hand so you can grab fries between bites with the other hand. Their fries are like nothing else you've ever had and are so addictive! They're fluffy and crispy at the same time, seasoned and served with their signature sauce. My oldest got the classic burger and my youngest the flaming hot chicken sandwich. They were so happy! My husband got the mushroom Swiss burger and he said it tied for first place with the flaming hot burger. They have self-serve standard fountain drinks, Coke brand, and also some super refreshing fruit beverages! Ketchup and mustard packets available alongside napkins and plastic knives. Very welcoming service with quick turnaround, plenty of seating to dine-in with yellow walls and happy graphics as well as photos of their menu offerings nicely framed and mounted. Parking is easy and store is conveniently located near other places you may need to stop by like Vons for groceries, The Green Nook for indoor plants and dance studio, a barber, nail salon, and many more. I picked up a burger and "fries" and they were good. Not great, but good. The burger was juicy all the way until the end, so that's a plus. However the onions and 1 tomato were sliced very thick and it kept sliding off the burger with every bite. And only 2 small slices of pickle which I wish there was more of. The "fries" were good, however I wouldn't call them fries. Overall it was a good meal, just needs some finishing touches that make a good burger into a great burger. read more

There are about an equal spread of good and bad things/qualities of this restaurant. Starting off with the good: 1. The service was decent 2. The setting was good while waiting for the food and it's refreshing to wait in the cold while it's ~90° outside. 3. The food wait for what my partner and I got (2 BrGrs 2 Fries) was not long and was about 16 minutes. 4. The quality of the burgers are good, and each BrGr was how we ordered it. I read that the burgers might be a bit too salty, and when I took a bite, the burger wasn't too salty. The BrGrs themselves were flavorful and not too greasy. Now with the negatives: 1. The fries are not that great, the seasoning on the fries are moreso spicy than flavorful almost like they require sauce to eat. They aren't potato circles as advertised, bummer. 2. This might just be me, but the shack sauce and the ranch that this establishment uses is not good at all. The shack shack sauce that they use tastes just like Lawry's Seasoned salt, which is what they put on their fries, and I cant even put a taste on the ranch. It was just funky. Final note: I would enjoy this place a lot more of the fries were better seasoned, I don't care that much about the circular fries. The sauce is an absolute no-go. I'd rather use my $20 and get burgers at Burger Bench on Grand Ave. read more

First time here, the burgers are delicious. The Pesto burger had a great earthy flavor, the Flaming is flavorful with a mild kick, and the classic is a delicious twist to a classic burger. The loaded fries were great, crispy and cheesy. The service was quick and friendly. It's a bright and clean environment, I highly recommend and enjoying a burger. read more

The good: 1. The place was clean. 2. The burgers were good albeit a little greasy. The not so good: 1. You served me heavily coated wedge fries after I specifically asked for the round fries, as advertised on your pictures hanging on the wall and on the website. I even pointed to the picture hanging on the wall and the lady taking my order said, "'No problem." 2. The wait was 15+ minutes when the place wasn't busy. 3. There were onions on kiddo's burger even though it was ordered as "meat, cheese, and bun only." 4. You have American, Swiss and blue cheese options but no cheddar cheese. 5. Your fries are coated. What really annoyed me: When the lady served me wedge fries and I reminded her that I had ordered their trademark round fries. "Oh...we were out of them for a while and the owner wanted us to use the wedge fries first. I'll get you an order of the other fries but is it ok that I just make you one order? I won't charge you for them." I replied, "Considering that I ordered two orders of your round fries and you brought me something that I didn't order, I certainly wouldn't expect to have to pay again. I paid for two orders of fries so I expect two orders." The lady only brought one. Not cool. Also, not a great business choice. read more
Found this place using yelp. Spoke to one of the staff members and he said they are new and have been open for about 5 months. Their burgers are really good, taste very fresh! Haven't had a good smash burger in a while. The burger was 9/10 but the fries 10/10! So good! The staff said they are still adding to their menu. I would definitely recommend this place. They have a great location right near Dutch bros so hopefully they are successful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Place is small but clean. I'll definitely go back read more
Let's face it , the economy is tough right now, so when you decide to eat out, you want to make sure it is worth the money. In N Out is still the king when it comes to value, but when you can afford to splurge a little, this place is a good compromise. $11 is cheap for a restaurant quality burger. Butter grilled brioche bun, fresh beef, cheese and mushrooms equates to a simple and delicious burger. Fries were decent, same for the tenders, nothing stood out. We waited around 10 minutes for our food on a Sunday night. What impressed me the most was the unlimited refill for Tractor organic tea at $3. They were out of dragonfruit flavor but the hibiscus was very good. Highly recommended burger joint in Esco, try it out if you are in the area! read more
