I went out to San Marcos to watch the Hail Mary at the Regal Theater and it was a great movie. The movie got out after midnight and we were looking for some munchies. We decided to make a pit stop at the In-n-Out Burger on Grand Ave because it was one of the few places that were actually opened so late. Here's my review. The exterior was as you'd expect from In-n-Out. Maintained and clean with very little trash abound. The interior was also clean and looked standard. Customer service was on-point, friendly and prompt. We ordered Flying Dutchmen and a custom burger; this was because we were trying not to carb overload so late at night. Burgers came in a timely manner and the seating was adequate. This was an average dining experience at In-n-Out and although there were a good number of customers inside eating, the service never faltered and the vibes were chill. having this meal was like going for a bad hookup. I never hooked up with anyone, but based on what my homies tell me, I was so hyped up on this meat for some time. I was giddy in my seat on the plane, but this meal was so effing mid. I asked for half chocolate and half strawberry for my milkshake, and they did 1/3 vanilla & 2/3 strawberry flavors? Big back post (2/2)! Got some In N Out with a dash of extra goodness in the back. My team loves in n out and this location never fails to serve us delicious foods. Usually the line is to the door and the restaurant is PACKED but today we came early so it was not too crowded. The restaurant is always well kept and clean and I want to shoutout the staff for their hospitality. No matter how crowded the restaurant, the place is always clean and the staff are always super sweet in serving the customers. (Special shoutout to one of the older, smaller lady, I missed getting her name last time I came by. She's always so nice and friendly and I've gotten to talk to her a couple of times. Whenever my friends and I are there, she makes it a point to make the interaction not just business but personable so you want to come back to that specific location and not just ANY in n out. I have been going to this In N Out since it opened and I have never had a bad experience. The workers are friendly and the quality of the food is always consistent. My go to order is a double double with extra lettuce, extra toasty bun, animal style, whole grilled onions, and chopped chilis! I also love the well done fries and vanilla chocolate milkshakes. This is always a great spot to get an affordable and fresh burger. It is always pretty busy here and the constant buzz is a nice environment to enjoy a delicious burger in. read more

First, it's an In N Out so I'm reviewing this in the tier of fast food and not the likes of a Michelin star restaurant. With that out if the way, 5 stars! Something my partner noticed was the all female crew. Ok what? You don't really see that. But it got my curiosity and I started looking around. From when we had first pulled in, there were two friendly faces in the parking lot directing traffic to help people and it felt like we were at a Chick Fil A and they are usually the gold star of customer service! Funny enough... there was what looked like used to be a CFA next door and we had joked that is where they moved from. Then the restaurant itself was very clean. Staff was regularly circulating around the tables and cleaning them and the floor. Even the bathroom was super clean! Now for the meal. The soda tasted well balanced in syrup and even had satisfactory fizz. I'm very picky about my coke and it meet the basic needs to not have any nitpicks so yay. Many places do not care enough about the soda fountains. Theirs looked like they may actually clean it. Also, the food was great. I got the 2x2 with animal style fries. Everything seemed fresh and it looked like they may have regulars... folks were coming in to say hi and having a whole chat. And constant flow of customers which is a sign of good stuff. The staff even surprised a guest with a birthday song which was nice. Food, soda, bathroom, and customer service...5/5. The drive thru has a line at least 25+ cars deep and the inside is packed but when you're taking your kid back to the dorm and it is what he wants you brave thru the crowd. Went to in n out! This location is always busy and the drive through is so long it goes to the other side of the parking lot most times. I think it goes to show how consistent the quality at this location is. I went to buy a triple double extra onion and extra tomato mustard fried with pickles and it came out perfect. I hadn't been here in years because I moved away but this place is still like it used to be, vibe was nostalgic to me. They are really well staffed, always had someone maintaining the customer area and restocking the condiments which is a huge plus because they are so busy. Service was great. Our Belgian Malinois loves going to the vet in this same plaza.. runs and bounces to their door, bounces out excitedly after... because she knows she'll get a Puppy Patty (a high value treat in my household). Our tradition is a strawberry shake for myself and the Puppy Patty for her; waiting in the drive-thru line so I can witness her anticipation. We usually go through the drive thru here and they have made efficient signs for where the cars need to drive in because of how crazy the line gets. On three different occasions, the buns were burned around the edges -- about a quarter-inch of black char. The burnt flavor completely overpowered the burger. On my third visit, I decided to politely mention it at the drive-thru and asked if they could please avoid burning the bun. The staff said they would make a note of it, but when I got home (only about 10 minutes away), the lettuce was still frosty and the bottom bun had become soggy inside the wrapper. It feels like a lose-lose -- either the bun is burnt, or when I ask for it not to be, I end up with a cold, soggy burger. Last night 5/23/25 at 8:42 pm, I was in line in the drive thru. A boy took my order, I didn't catch his name. His customer service was VERY rusty. He started off good, with a "Hi, how are you guys doing tonight?" We ordered three number ones, one with chopped chillies and grilled onion, one with no onion or tomatoes, two regular fries, one cheese fry, two cokes, one dr pepper, four dog patties, and one neapolitan shake and one strawberry shake. When we told him our order, he would just nod his head. I noticed he was staring someplace else, due to him never holding eye contact with me the whole time. I saw he was looking at young girls through me rear view mirror. Not only did he not make eye contact due to staring at girls, he never once repeated any of the items we asked for nor did he say it after to make sure he got everything correct. It was very busy as well. When we went up to the window to pay, the girl cashier went over our order and it sounded right. When we got our food, we were missing two cokes, three fries ( they charged us for three regular ones, when we only asked for two regular). When i told the girl at the window we were missing drinks and fries, she gave me a weird look. On the receipt, it says they charged us for the burgers, fries including an extra one we didn't ask for and still paid for. The guy at the drive thru didn't take our order right due to him staring at girls while on the job and taking an order. I believe people like that don't set a well reputation for In N Out. Not once has In N Out messed up my order, I thought it was physically impossible. Last night it was possible, I didn't get out of the car to complain due to it being busy. I ended up calling the customer service number and complaining. They said they would send me two gift cards for double double meals. Hopefully they come soon, I was super hungry and this upset me. My children didn't get to have their drinks or fries! In N Out should find out who the guy was and have him fired.
