I was not impressed the first time that I went to Five Guys. They certainly like to flaunt all of their accolades but by the end of the meal, I thought "what's the big deal?". After several months, I gave it another chance. I ordered the cheeseburger (a half pound burger consisting of two patties) and the regular fries. While the fries were a little too salty this time around, the burger was much better. It was juicy, cheesy, and beefy. It's not on the level of Burger Star but it is much closer to where I work and live. Because of that, I will likely visit Five Guys again. read more

I'd never been to a burger place with free peanuts. I've never been to a place that offered free peanuts along with their excessively large portions... I'd also never been to a Five Guys before, and was on a burger bender tour of the western states, and heard some rumor from Zagat's there was a new king in the fast food burger industry. The rumors are mostly true, and fairly well founded. Great quality, fresh ingredients, cooked with precision. Completely customizable with the available ingredients. That meant Jalapenos. The burger: Definitely in the top 5 burgers I've ever had. Sweetly flavorful bun, excellent patties. Cheese was lost in the mix. The 'secret sauce' somewhat dominated the overall blend, rather than letting the beef speak for itself. I won't lie, it was still a damned fine pile of delicious. Fries: Big honkin' fries. You could taste the peanut oil they are fried in. The cajun seasoning was great. Definitely better than the standard fry, but slightly spicy for the pepper-timid eater, namely my lunch companion. The regular size was almost too much for one person. The flavors become overwhelming at some point and once that apex is reached, there is no real joyful satisfaction from finishing the rest. Being from the left coast, I've been privilege to partake in the heavenly delights of In n Out. To fuel the debate, I will only say this: Five Guys is really pricey, and there are no combo meals. Expect to pay $10 for a Regular burger, small fries, and a small soda. This will almost buy two double double meals. I guess the feather in Five Guys cap is nationwide access. read more

I ate at 5 guys for lunch today. This is my second time I have eaten here. I really like it. The burgers are of high quality. Fries are fresh. There are a ton of "extras" you can add to your burger (mushrooms, jalapenos, etc.) at no extra charge. Expect to wait for food. It's all fresh. Some might think for waiting 5-10 minutes for your order is a long time. But I think fresh hot food is worth the wait. The regular burger is a double patty. Bring your appetite. Share the large fries they are enough for 2 or 3 people. 5 Guys is not In and Out Burgers but a pretty good substitute read more

I have loved going to Five Guys in the past but I will probably not be going back! First, my burger was not made correctly so they offered to make a new one which was fantastic because it was super fresh! My husbands was not made correctly either so they gave me a side of bacon, grilled onions, ketchup, mustard and mayo when his burger only had lettuce and pickles when he opened it. So my husband had to remake his burger himself which was awful because it was falling apart afterwards and he was pissed because I got a fresh burger. We will not be coming back here!!!! Went to the new one around 74th & Dodge today. Love the Cajun fries, and the burger (Bacon Cheeseburger with mushrooms and A-1) had a good flavor too it. Absolutely no problem with the food. A little high on price ($9 for a burger and fries), but the portion was large. Gets downgraded a little due to speed of service. More employees working than customers in the store, and i still waited 15 minutes for my order. Even if you cook the burgers to order, it shouldn't take that long to get an order out. Still prefer In N Out burger, but none here, so I have to make due. read more

Five Guys really is sub-par. The cozy, casual vibe of this place is really nice. Right when you walk in, there are peanuts available to take for free. Perfect to munch on when you're hungry and waiting for your order! In terms of food, woooooow. The burgers seem pricey, but they're HUGE. Extremely juicy and literally loaded with toppings of your choice. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I also love the fries here. They keep the skin on 'em so they're really crispy! Don't eat them cold/without ketchup, otherwise they're not great. Keep them warm and dip them in something you love and they're HEAVEN. In terms of the other sandwiches, I can't review them because all I get is the humongo-gigantic cheeseburger and fries. It's really all I need to get full and gain 80 pounds, after all. read more

Not sure what all the hype is about. I guess it's just hype. $10 for a single patty cheeseburger and a regular drink. Cheese wasn't even remotely warm and I expected it to be melted. This location is either managed by thieves or the staff is completely incompetent. The last two times I have been here, they have failed to put bacon on my burger, even though I ordered and paid for such. This latest visit I saw another customer who took her burger back as well, and I suspect she had the same issue. First visit here today. These are very good burgers, and the fries were great too, but two people should split the regular-sized fries, as it is too much for one person. The first time I went to Five Guys, the burger was good and the fries were great. They were cooked just right and were served very hot. After raving about the fries to my brother, I took him here for lunch. The fries were terrible. They were overcooked and too salty. My brother said he was never coming back again. I decided to give them another try and the fries were great again. So, I convinced my brother to give them another try. I told him that he would really like the fries this time. Been to this location several times. Been to a couple of other locations as well. They are pretty consistent. The burgers are a tasty treat if you're ready for some beef. I go minimalist on toppings here to savor the beef. They have a lot of choices though. The fries are a huge serving...Take them home in the brown sack. Save them in your freezer... reheat in oven. Just as good. Sometimes we toss cheese on the ones we take home. Personally I've never done the dogs.. but my friends and kids swear by them. They're split and done on grill I think. They look good... but I come here for the burger. Usually a double. Be hungry if you go for three. Ok the peanuts... yeah they're free and sometimes I eat those and skip the fries. If you like roasted salted peanuts...mmmmm. Pop has free refills.. which is good cause I like drinking pop with a big burger. Normally we love five guys but this time it was really disappointing. When we first came in the kitchen area was empty and it was hotter than 40 hells in there. All the staff were in the back. This is a good place to get your cholesterol on!! I like the fact that you can choose your own toppings(wish they had more choices), but none the less very good. Five Guys is a fast casual burger chain based out of Virgina that recently expanded into Omaha. It's first Omaha location opened in August 2009 off of 132nd and Dodge in the Linden Place shopping center. I decided to give Five Guys a try after a couple colleagues of mine raved about the place. The Good: The burgers there are pretty decent. They use beef that isn't frozen and they are made to order. I'm not a big french fry person, but they are hand cut and you get a generous portion. The Bad: I thought the tables at this location were spaced a little too close together, making it hard to get around the seating area. Conclusion: Overall I thought the food at Five Guys was good but it wasn't anything special. I would eat at Five Guys again but not regularly. read more

Five Guys makes me wish I had two stomachs. One for the deliciously, juicy burger I just ate - and one for that burger I see them preparing in the kitchen. The burger's don't taste greasy (though I'm sure they are), and the toppings are always fresh. The Cajun fries were overseasoned, but their regular fries were spot on. My only quibble is the seating. In the many times I've been, I haven't found a table without a huge draft. It seems all the tables are positioned under a vent. No matter - I am happy to eat my topping heavy burger in a down jacket anytime. read more

We sat down and had to wait a little bit for our food. When we got it after maybe 10 minutes, she told my dad that they had extra patties, so she had just put them on ours. So because of that I was able to have a juicy two patty burger with a lot of fries. It was delicious! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that would like an amazing hamburger and a large amount of fries. They have great service and delectable food. Bad customer experience. Ordered online. Online program provides no clear way to input a gift card. Thought the staff would accommodate and change payment type when we got to location. Manager, was not interested in helping and just said, "I'm sorry. I've never ordered online myself, so I don't know how that would work." Though the burger was large it was astoundingly bland with not a hint of salt or any other seasoning having come near it during preparation or cooking. The bun was flavorless, untoasted, unwarmed. The lettuce was of the sickly pale iceberg variety. In late August they couldn't offer a red tomato. I ordered grilled onions and received about seven tiny pieces on the burger. Grew to love handcut, skins-on fries in Chicago, so I know what they can be when done right. While the small order of fries turned out to be huge, the fries were limp and soggy with grease.
