They also did not skimp out of the fries since they always load the bag up with them. The fries were honestly better than the burger, and definitely better than In-n-out fries. It's another place that it's been years since I've gone to. I think I kind of stopped going because of the overwhelming amount of fries they give. I believe fries have a certain time period where you have to eat them before they get soggy they can't be so hot that they burn off my taste buds but they also can't be warm and soggy. I got the spice fries this time along with a double cheeseburger. Between In&Out and Five Guys, I would be really hard pressed to find a fast food winner. I guess we all have our favorites but these are my top fast food favs. Each so greasy yet so delicious in their own unique way. In both establishments I've noticed the staff to to be more friendly and helpful and happy than your usual fast food joint. I think although it's fast food, it's still nice to walk into a place you're eating and be greeted and treated as a worthy customer. Five guys make the burgers fresh, if you see them as they put it on the grill they come from the fridge not freezer and are pinkpinkpink. If you're looking for a thick juicy burger this probably won't fulfill your needs, it's a skinny style patty with a lot of flavor. I love that a great variety of toppings are offered free of charge- "all the way" will give you a variety of condiments, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, tomato, lettuce, pickles etc. There are extra free "all the way" toppings too like jalapenos and more, but I usually get it "all the way"regular without the extra extras. Cheese burgers are bit more expensive than hamburgers and they have a "little" aka jr option and regular. If you're a have it all person like me you'll go for the bacon cheese burger! Honestly if you're going to get fries too the "little" will do you just fine. Fries are seasoned cajun or regular, and they sure give you your money worth in fries! A small cup is filled cup plus much more spilling over in the bag. Good value in my opinion. Wait time for the burger is minimal once ordering, and there is not usually a very long line to order just a few people ahead of you. Also, free peanuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They cook everything well-done, but it was juicy, tasted good, and was still tender (not a char-broiled brick). A friend sent me there - he said it was the best burger he had had. I agree with him. If you're looking for ambiance, this isn't your place. You can take as many peanuts as you like. The potatoes are stacked up between the dining room and the entrance door. This past visit to the 74 and dodge location I again had a bad experience. I received my burger an fries an these burgers always have melted cheese and are absolutely delicious when you bite into them. THis burgers cheese was cold an unmelted. I thought they usually put Cheese while the burger is still cooking but maybe not here. Not only that but the burger was broken apart it's like the cook had to break open multiple times to see if it was done. The fries which are always amazing were so over seasoned i literally ate maybe ten of them before throwing the whole thing away. My friend does keto and I'm low carb. We love this place because we are able to get a lettuce burger, which they nicely wrap in a piece of foil for a mess free eating experience. They are always happy to provide mayo or extra if you initially for forget to order them. Did I mention the free peanuts? They use potatoes from local farmers for their fries, another nice touch. You can easily get a full satisfying meal for around 10 bucks. They cater to gluten allergies as well and it is one of the few places that my brother who has celiac feels comfortable eating without the worry for cross contamination. Fries soggy, greasy and nasty? I gotta answer that. How do you spell a raspberry? Love the fries here. They taste like potatoes. What a concept. No bready-floury coating, just fresh potato. Maybe the dude thinks they're greasy because they're not necessarily very crisp, but I'll guaran-frickin-tee you there's a lot less oil in them than your average coated fries. Coatings absorb more oil. They're also crispier, and maybe that's why people like them, but I'm one of those who can taste that coating, and you know what? I don't like it much. Sure doesn't taste like potato. You know what tastes like potato? Potato. As for the burgers, man, it's a style thing. There are basically three kinds of burgers in the world. There are the big fat wonderful grill-burgers that don't even need a condiment they taste so beefy good. Then there's all the average burger places like your basic national fast food outlets and a bunch of nondescript family sit-down places. Then there are the smashed thin greasy crusty things like you'll get at Five Guys, or Smashburger, or Krekel's Kustard in Decatur, Illinois, or Culver's, or Bronco's. Some people grew up on them, and love them. But you need a pile of toppings to make them legit. Now I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the half beef/half salt grilled-under-an-anvil type of burger that many of these places sport, but Five Guys isn't on the extreme edge of all that. I was dragged here by co-workers despite my multiple negative experiences at a Lincoln location and, needless to say, this location could not live up to my mediocre expectations. I just don't get it - how can people enjoy this crap? Are they brainwashed by red and white or is that cocaine dusted on the bun? That's as much meat as you get for $0.99 at Burger King, albeit undoubtedly higher quality. A few things are certainly huge: the bun, the number of employees doing nothing, and the bill. Burgers here do not come close to being as good (or large) as Don & Millie's or even Runza, and yet Five Guys thinks they can charge almost double! Don't give me the freshness spiel, captain ignorance, because both the aforementioned fast food establishments (and even Wendy's, of all places) never use frozen beef. But they somehow manage to maintain respectable prices and deliver flavor at the same time. I guess all these stupid roasted peanuts explain the inflation? At almost 7:45 at night, I was a tad impressed. Service was speedy, and you could help yourself to some dried peanuts while you waited for your order number to be called. What I liked most - besides my burger, of course - was the fact that you could read the menu with ease. Not overloaded with a ton of options, the menu here keeps things pretty simple while maximizing the burger experience for their customers... I've heard some folks compare 5 Guys to Stella's, and I'm not so sure I'd agree with the comparison... 5 Guys produces a completely different product than Stella's. Sure, it's a burger and fries, but I'd venture to say the product is a little different - maybe even a little more - than just a burger and fries... 5 Guys is tasty and pretty flipping good. Not too sure why it's so good though... Perhaps it has something to do with the way they season their beef? Maybe it has something to do with the condiments? I've had burgers from here a few times now. They offer free toppings for your burger like mushrooms and peppers. You can also ask for ketchup and mustard on the burger but I suggest not to. I asked for ketchup before and it looked like they dipped the whole burger into it. Way too much ketchup for my taste. They give you a good amount of fries for the money. I liked them. As far as the flavor of the burger goes, it's good, I'm just not blown away by it. Maybe it's the fact that the walls are covered with quotes from reviews raving about this place. So by the time you get your order, the food has been over hyped from reading the quotes. Another thing is the price. It's over $10 for a cheeseburger, fries and drink. While it's a decent burger, I think they're a bit overpriced. There are other places in town I prefer to visit for my burger fix. If you haven't been here before it's worth trying. If I'm with friends or co workers and they wanted to eat here I would go. But Five Guys just isn't a place I care to go out of my way for too often. Food was pretty darn tasty. Never been disappointed with a meal at any five guys. Only complaints are cleanliness and NOISE. Dinning area was pretty messy. Tables filthy, trash on the floor. Maybe shortstaffed that day? Who knows, but if I wanted to clean up other people's messes before sitting down to eat I'd have stayed home and cleaned up after my own family. I appreciate this place for what it is: fast food burgers that taste better than McD's and BK, and possibly are a teeny bit better for you (since they actually tell you where their ingredients came from on a chalk board next to the cash register). I get the Little Burger for $3.50 and load it up with toppings. It does the job of keeping my hunger in check. I chomp on peanuts while I wait, and leave satisfied. I'm allergic to peanuts. Walking into Five Guys was like stepping through a minefield. Luckily for me, peanut oil is almost never an allergen for most peanut allergists, and I was one of them. So I had to try the Five Guys burger. My first thought? Expensive. Burgers quickly travel upwards of seven dollars. Not sure why I found that surprising, I guess I was looking around for the $5 dollar burger mantra. You can get burgers with either one or two beef patties. Adding cheese and bacon increases the cost of your burger quite significantly; the other toppings are free. The burger was good. Above average, but I paid above average prices. Which is acceptable. Nothing absolutely spectacular to say. The fries were also good. Nice and crispy, made wedge style, served in a giant cup, with good portion sizes. Despite being allergic to peanuts, I'm a huge fan of the taste of peanut oil, and you could definitely taste it in the fries. Next time a friend is looking for a nice burger joint in Omaha, I'll recommend Five Guys. Not spectacular, but pretty good. read more
